    Where is the video quality?

Dont get me wrong this has all the functions to watch your child but it should have better video quality. The video quality is what I would have expected from the early 2000s... seriously. It has night vision, and tilt and pan but less than 480p quality on the camera and screen. Maybe because this is a closed circuit system... meaning it does not use wifi but rather its own secured antenna system ( which is a plus so no hackers can tap in and watch your child etc.) Yet it should be able to perform better especially in today's age where high quality 4k and 1080p cameras are super cheap to produce. This gets the job done but is lacking also with its lullaby tones. I play 4 or 5 tones from the play list on the monitor and it sounded horrible. Like so bad that I laughed... dollar store quality.... I don't know if it will play as crappy when it supposively automatically plays for your kid when they are restless but I wasn't taking a chance because no one can fall asleep to that crap. You can also see from the photos that the monitor is super thick.. not easy to put in a pocket or carry around all the time. Best features this system does has is the ability to tell the temperature in the room (seemed accurate with my home thermostat), alerts you with a orange light bar on the monitor and/or beep noise (you can turn the beep or light off to best fit your needs) when there is motion or noise in the room. The sensor for motion and noise are super accurate and even small motion alerts you.. I think its cool. Also you can always hear whats going on in the room and the monitor has a mic button so you can talk back to your child to sooth them or talk to them. This system is great.. the video does allow you to see what you need and you can see detail... I just wish that part is more as your using this system to see not just hear like a traditional baby monitoring system. Not including pictures of my child online sorry.... so you can see the details of the bookshelf.

Where was this when she was a baby?

So when my daughter was a baby, many years ago, we didn’t have anything near this technology to help keep an eye on her. Now with this Panasonic Long Range Baby Monitor we can watch our granddaughter and be alerted of any movement or sound before she even starts crying out. Plus, with all of the recent news about hackers getting into baby monitors and wireless home cameras, the closed circuit style technology on this one ensures that someone from across the internet isn’t watching as well. The range on the monitor is rather decent. While testing, not as a suggestion to leave your baby alone, we were able to go across the street and a house down, which is at least 1000 feet or more and maintain a conversation with someone in the room with no noticeable loss in quality. Once we broke the range it notified us on screen and attempted reconnection until back in range. This monitor can detect motion, sound and temperature ranges based on your settings. Then with the smart settings you can be alerted by screen lit only, with a small notification icon at the top of the screen, or screen lit + notification. Which is an audible tone and a light on top of the screen that will light up amber or green based on the intensity of the sound or motion. The only thing that was somewhat obnoxious is that you must confirm the notification with OK before any of the other buttons can be used. Also, it would be nice if there was some sort of a snooze like feature, especially when someone is tending to the baby, you don’t need the constant notifications, but also don’t want to forget to enable it again later. The lullaby is a neat feature, but if you don’t already have the auto lullaby set and the speaker volume at a decent level, you might scare the baby more than sooth. The reason being that the lullaby is instantly played as you scroll through the list of sounds which include 5 musical tones and 5 noises, like white noise, rain and heart beat. So for a split second as you might want to get to lullaby 5, you are playing random noises as you step through the others. Camera quality isn’t the best I’ve seen, but decent enough to see what is important. Plus you have a decent range of pan and tilt as well as a 2x zoom. The images may look like there are two camera, but the other circle is the microphone. To me it looks like an owl, a little more pleasing than a standard camera. The power cord for the camera is about 10 ft long, so you can set the camera just about anywhere in a typical room. This also comes with a bracket for easy wall mounting. The monitor lasts several hours unplugged, it lists 5 hours of screen time or 13 hours of standby, but this is all subjective of how much it is being triggered throughout the day. The included charger for it is about 6 ft long. Overall, we like it. Giving us that added peace of mind that we can take care of other things while she sleeps in a quiet room.

This updated Panasonic Baby Monitor features slightly resolution image quality, but otherwise it is nearly identical to the previous version I used. The handset is the same size and the Camera portion is as well. Any updates must be internal to support the higher resolution because the form factor, mounting pieces, and handheld screen are all identical from the previous version. The major boost of this unit is the resolution of the picture seems much higher quality. The old unit I think was 640x480 and it was hard to see my daughters facial expressions. This unit seems much more clear, I can see a lot more details compared to the last one. In terms of competitor products that are "smart" devices. There's pros/cons to both. Pro: + This unit has a great beep/light system that will definitely wake you up while "smart" competitors might only buzz while in silent mode. +Cheaper and no subscription compared to smart devices. +Easy to mount and has nice controls to pan around the room. Otherwise you are giving up online access to the camera from anywhere, the handheld unit is massive, and on my last unit both the power button and micro-usb plug had issues. Still, for anyone who wants a solid baby monitor that works within a household, this is a good choice especially at the price.

My wife and I have been looking for some good baby monitors utilizing newer technology, while also being durable. The Panasonic Long-Range offers motion sensing, sound alerts and two way radio, but I was left wanting more out of this device. After several weeks of utilizing it and positioning it I was left with the following thoughts: Pros: -Easy set up. The battery is included but you have to install it into the battery slot. Once done and it’s powered up, You immediately have a live stream from the camera. Then, you begin by navigating through the different options from the Menu: (camera select, zoom, lullaby, smart notification, auto lullaby, timer, sensors, Camera speaker volume, camera brightness, camera management, motion settings, and information). The monitor has the Menu, OK, direction, volume, brightness and microphone buttons to the right of the 3.5 display. Screen lettering is large to see without my glasses and offers enough brightness to catch your eye. -sounds: two-way audio from the camera and monitor comes out crisp and not too loud where it Vibrates the speaker. I’ve had some other baby monitors that did that and I’m glad that the Panasonic doesn’t do that. -Screen quality: pretty decent with the size of the screen. Some images are grainy in color, but I wanted to use it mostly for night which is excellent. Cons: -No Video Recording option: I had hoped that this would have that option since at times, I want to make sure my daughter remained asleep or that I can go back and pinpoint when she woke up. Unfortunately it is not available. -Lack of Touch Screen: in 2019 I would have hoped that this would be Touch Screen. Navigating the buttons on the right is easy, but with all that area they could’ve made it touch screen capable. -Zoom: only 2x Zoom option and the differences between them is too much. No in-between option when zooming. I felt that the viewing angles was too narrow. -no mounting support. The camera has the option to be mounted but there were no additional mounting hardware (wall screw). Maybe mine didn’t come with one but most devices that can be set on the wall usually have them. -Motion detecting sensitive: this was annoying, because every time my daughter moved my screen flickered on and I got the immediate feed from the camera. Now, that can be good and I adjusted the sensor but it continued to annoy me. The slightest sound or turn in her bed and the camera went on. Too sensitive. Overall, this is a decent device that does get the basic job of monitoring your child. I just wished that it had video recording ability and was not too sensitive.

The Panasonic video baby monitor, is a great piece of technology for anyone who has a baby. This device makes life so much easier, and enables me to get stuff done around the house. To start off, the baby monitor doesn't use wifi at all, so there's no set up required. Instead, it uses the 2 devices to connect and talk to each other. The 2 devices that are included in the box are, the baby monitor and the camera. There is also a camera mount included, in case you want to mount it to the wall. I found that mounting the camera limited my use of it to one room, so instead I just place it in the room where my kid will be. The camera look looks like a little android robot, it can move up and down, side to side, and zoom in and out for your viewing. This is all controlled by the 3.5"in monitor. The features on the baby monitor are pretty impressive, for example there is a motion sensor and sound sensor, both of these can be configured in setting on the baby monitor...There is also a two-way walkie talkie that lets you talk to whoever is by the camera. There is also a noise maker built into the camera, this can be configured to play lullabies, or sound effects. The noise and sound sensor are very sensitive by default, especially the noise (it picks up a ceiling fan as noise). Again this can be configured in the setting, but I never was able to find a good setting, to where is didn't notify me ever 2 seconds about a noise - so I ended up just turning that off. The Picture quality of the monitor is pretty decent, and it has built-in night vision so you can see the baby in the dark no problem. There is also a temperature gauge at the top of the monitor that lets you know the temp of the room that your camera is in. The range is also very nice, I had no problem with the signal no matter where I was in the house (both up stairs and down). Being able to adjust the camera from the monitor is also a nice feature, incase your little one is like mine, and likes to squirm around in her bed. The monitor also comes packed with a rechargeable battery, that last a good while before you have to charge it, plus it comes with the usb cable to recharge it. Overall, the Panasonic Baby Monitor is a very useful tool for anyone who wants to keep an eye on their child, while being able to do other stuff around the house. It has all the features one could ask for to monitor you child, plus the sounds help them sleep. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a baby monitor.

Great Range, Video Quality, Lacks WiFi

Panasonic promised a range of up to 1500 feet. I did not test all that distance but at about 300 feet away, both the audio and video were flawless. I wish my WiFi were that good. We were able to keep an eye on the 3-month-old baby no matter where we were inside or outside the house. The first thing I noticed and loved was that even in total darkness, we could see and hear the baby very clearly. It senses movement and displays a message on the portable monitor. What is not good is that the message can become annoying very quickly because if you are trying to change something, such as lullaby music, it will interrupt you and will not let you do anything else until you acknowledge it. Not a big deal but I thought I should mention. As long as the monitor is charged, you can carry it wherever you go without having to connect it to power. The only thing I felt was missing and the baby’s mom agreed was internet connectivity. It would be great if you could use an app on your phone to see what was going on when you left your little one with a family member or babysitter. Another kind of annoying thing occurs when you are going through the list of lullabies/white noise to play on the camera base. You use the monitor to do so but if you go slowly, it plays the music for a second or so while you scroll through the list. If you go fast, then it makes a beeping sound, which can upset the baby and whoever is around. There is also a little of static within 7 feet or so. Most lullabies/sounds are good except a vacuum option that sounds more like car ride. Color looked excellent and the video quality was great even in black and white, which happens in total darkness. The monitor size is perfect. It can fit in a pocket and it is light without sacrificing quality. Except for those annoyances mentioned above, we liked everything else. Resolution looks great. Range is the best I have ever seen in such a type of device. I highly recommend it. Again, the only thing that I really think was missing was connectivity to the internet to watch the baby when away from home. If you use it just around the hour or at a neighbor’s house around the block, this is among the best baby monitors out there.

This baby monitor has every parent's concerns in mind when it comes to looking over your child. I have had many different Panasonic products and never been disappointed. This again sets the bar high. To start off the multitude of features make it simple to keep an eye and ear open at all times even when not in the room. It's quoted as having a 1,500 ft. range (the length of 4 football fields in straight line of site.. to put it in perspective) and although I didn't measure it, everywhere I went in the house and even out back in the yard had no issues with connection. The range obviously will differ depending on the size or amount of objects in between. One of the most important things I want to bring attention to in this review is something extremely important when choosing a monitor for your baby or child. Recently on the news there was a man who hacked into a family's child monitor and literally was speaking to the child through the camera directly. Due to it being connected through WiFi he was able to do this. He also could see and hear what the parent could as well. This would be my biggest fear using something that gave someone access to my home and loved ones who had ill intentions which is why I love this Panasonic monitor that gives piece of mind that I only have access to the camera with its secure network using DECT. This monitor does not connect through wifi it uses DECT technology. which is the same used in my Panasonic home phone. It gives the monitor excellent long range capabilities still with crystal clear sound and speech. The monitor has a 3.5 inch LCD screen which has beautiful color and contrast as well as clarity. Even in the dark with their Clear Night Mode you can still perfectly just how your child is. The camera has pan, tilt, and zoom capability which is controllable by the remote. They've really thought of just about everything. The controls and functions are easy to use and conveniently placed to the right side of the screen which for me made it easy to use even one handed. Another feature that was crucial was two way speak and talk. That way as your child grows the camera already has the ability to grow with them as they learn to speak. The sound quality was excellent. No buzzing or background noise. Even the faintest sounds are picked up which really sets you at ease. The battery time was great as well. It's quoted to have 13 hours standby and 5 hours of screen time. Checking it periodically I managed to get well over 7 hours but that was partial standby and having the screen on for periods of time. If you're looking for the best monitor hands down I'd highly recommend this one!

Prior to getting this monitor, I had always used really cheap and low end monitors, and I now regret all the time I spent settling on them. The video quality on this is amazingly clear, even in low light. The sound comes through nice and clear. Adding additional cameras is incredibly easy (it took me longer to unpack the second camera from its box than to get it set up with the monitor). Oh, and I haven't actually tested the claim that it can transmit 1,500 feet, but there is nowhere on our quarter acre property that I can't get signal. If you want this just as a basic baby monitor, it's worth it. If you want bells and whistles, it does have a few. The motion alert actually works really well for letting me know when my son is moving about. The sound alert is a bit over sensitive, even on lower settings, but if for whatever reason you don't want the volume up on the monitor (or you have a hard time hearing) it is a useful feature. The ability to speak through the camera and have it play lullabies is definitely a plus (you aren't calming your kid down and getting them back to sleep from the other side of the house, but it does at least calm them down a bit until you can get there). The one thing that is truly over the top though is the ability to control pan and tilt through the monitor. Honestly, that feature is why I got the second camera, so I could have one for the play room also. It is really nice when I get home after work and it is just me and my son and I need to get dinner ready (and all the other myriad of tasks that need to get done) to be able to put my son in the play room, set up his favorite toys, and keep an eye on him with the portable monitor, and be able to adjust the camera to keep up with his crawling around. I feel bad doing that to him, but it is definitely safer than having him crawling around between my legs while dealing with hot food on the stove. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone who has children.

Play Big Brother On Your Little Baby

I didn't realize this was a thing but its amazing! What comes in the box is a little web cam looking camera that you plug into the wall and place on a flat surface (or I'm sure there is a way you could mount it easily too but I was lazy and used the dresser) as well as a receiver with video screen. The camera can show you color or night vision black and white and has both a speaker and a microphone so you can listen in and speak with your baby. But wait, it gets even cooler! The video screen, which obviously has a speaker and mic too to work with the camera, can also play several lullabies, rain sounds, white noise, and a heart beat sound to sooth your little one and block out noise from the other room. You can adjust volume on both speakers using the video screen. The screen has a directional control so you can adjust the angle too (up, down, left, and right) and it goes almost 360 degrees around in case the toddlers "help" set it up between naps. This was way more than I expected when I ordered it. The video is not super high resolution but its plenty clear enough to see even in night or low life settings. It says it has a temperature sensor to alert you when your baby's room gets too hot or too cold but living in Oregon during the winter the house is maintained at a steady temperature, no open windows or heat waves to test it with. One final feature of note is a motion sensor that makes a sound and displays an alert on the screen when the camera senses movement so you can always be aware of the nap situation. Very cool, definitely worth the price if you need something to keep at ease when away from the baby (within the house and out into the yard depending how big your place is, the box says 1500 feet in a straight unobstructed line, actual distance will vary by location).

So I used to be of the opinion that why should i have a dedicated screen and device when I have a wonderful cellphone in my pocket? I used a camera with my phone for awhile. Yeah, that pretty much sucks... notifications and slow communication times were an issue... So I got one of these and I love it. The range is awesome, I can have it outside and have no communication issues. The battery on the receiver lasts all night. The point and tilt of the camera is awesome; I didn't realize until after I bought my first camera how nice that feature is ( I didn't have it and I wanted it because I never set my kid down in the same place in the crib) . The screen is big enough to see nicely, You can turn off motion and only use noise sensing (my kid can be restless). The lullaby feature buys me about an extra 15 min when I'm getting ready and he thinks it's time to get up, sadly it hasn't put him back to sleep. The response time has a lag but it is probably half a second versus my old one that was closer to two seconds so I don't mind that at all. Lastly I love how loud the notification can get and if noise keeps going off in the room it will start getting more annoying which I think can be quite useful as I've had to train myself to be a lighter sleeper before getting this. So If you are a heavy sleeper I would highly recommend this as the notifications can get quite loud and bright. Pros: Point-Tilt dedicated monitor Good range from camera Good battery life on monitor Loud notifications Ability to choose what to alarm off of small communication lag clear speakers ability to play lullaby Cons: camera doesn't have a battery built in That's about it. I couldn't think of really any cons to this thing. It's exactly what I need and I would highly recommend it.

It's a baby monitor. Nothing else. I purchased this monitor to take on vacation with my family for the sole ability of the 'extra long range'. It did not live up to that ability. The monitor would lose connection at about 150ft and not the advertised 1500ft. I suppose the 1500ft range has to be direct line of sight with absolutely no interference. This monitor failed us for what we needed it for.

The Panasonic long range baby monitor has made our lives a little easier and worry free when it comes to our little one. Our old system had recently died, and we found this to be a great replacement. I do miss the Wi-Fi feature of the old model, but this one is more secure and does not offer viewing beyond the synced 3.5” monitor. This is more secure and is not vulnerable to hackers gaining access to your camera. The features of this camera are abundant, and it is easy set up and use makes this a good choice for anyone. It offers smart sensors that can detect motion, sound, and temperature. You can customize the alerts as well and my favorite feature is blocking out part of the screen for motion detection, for example, if we go check on the baby then I have the front of the crib set to ignore motion in that area and it will ignore us as we check on her, but alert us when she moves. Monitor picture quality is not the highest and you may not be able to see fine details, but the image is good enough so that we still subtle details like if our baby’s eyes are open (at night) or closed. This camera can also pan, tilt and zoom (2x) using the monitor. The settings on the monitor are a bit clunky to get into and you have to hit OK after selections and it just bothered me a little. Not really a deal breaker and just takes some time getting used to the way you navigate in the menu. Battery life has been decent, and the manufacture says up to 13 hours in stand by mode and up to 5 hours with the screen on. I think those numbers a little generous but close to what I was getting in my normal usage. I mostly just have it plugged in just to be safe and the power connector is a mini usb, which is a nice feature to have. The camera can also play some white noise or lullaby sounds for your baby, but I have a white noise machine in her room that does a better job and sounds better. I did not test out the “long range” of this device, but I did move the monitor to the other side of my back yard and the connection was still very strong. This is a good option in the crowded field of baby monitors and I would recommend this to my friends and family.

Th Panasonic baby monitor is a pretty good bundle overall. There are lots of high end features in this little package and a few annoyances. Unboxing: There is not much inside this package, just the basics. You will find the camera, a wall mount, a plug for the camera and the monitor, a battery for the monitor, the monitor and some documentation. Setup: Setup is extremely easy, mount the camera on a flat surface or on the wall mount (requires two screws or nails), put the battery in the monitor, turn it on (or charge it), and just position the camera to your liking. It is pretty much gtg right out the box! Use: The product works great for what it is designed for. I used it for a couple of days and it gets great video day and night. The motorized camera is amazing since you can move it around from the monitor anywhere in the house. Night video is bright and picks things up from far away. The monitor is a little low resolution for my liking but you don’t need to connect to any apps like many modern cameras so you can essentially have an always on connection to the camera or leave video playing constantly. Complaints: The resolution is a little low on the camera. It is not a huge deal if you just want awareness of what is going on but you won’t be taking any pictures on this or getting any fine details. The unit alerts you when there is movement or sound, this is good but at night time, it can get rather annoying and woke me up with any movement in the room and I had to tone it down to the lowest setting. There is no video recording or photo ability on this unit. Pros: The battery on the monitor is great, it seems to never die! The range on the monitor is outstanding, it worked anywhere in the house. Audio is clear and the alerts (though annoying) are helpful if you are doing another activity like cooking or reading a book.

Works as advertised, but the picture is no where as clear as our old monitor

I absolutely love this monitor!! I used to own one of those old school ones and this is obviously 1,000 times better. The image quality is awesome. The monitor has some pretty cool features like it tell you the temperature ,a light turns on if the monitor detects movement’s or sound. It has about 5 different lullaby’s and also white noise sound. The Camera is able to move around and zoom in, in case the baby moves around. it also features night vision and a microphone in which you can talk to the baby in case you can get to the room right away. Its really a great monitor. It definitely gets the job done.

Video monitor worked pretty well, until 1 week after the warranty ended. Wonderful. Seems pretty ridiculous to me that I bought this baby camera in November and cannot return it two months later. I would avoid this camera, or maybe buy it elsewhere

This product was super easy to set up and get going. It took a few minutes to play around with the settings but they are very easy to navigate. We use this to watch a slightly older child from another part of the house. It allows us to shower and dress in the morning and know he is safe! We can have a 2-way conversation which is perfect! If you have an infant, it does have a lullaby mode. I wasn't crazy about the options but I am sure a baby would be lulled to sleep. The monitor has a decent battery life so you can take it with you. It will be handy if we are out in the yard while a child is inside. I also like that the camera is maneuverable from the monitor. Allows for greater viewing range.

My wife and I just had a baby boy that was born two months premature and spent a month in the NICU, so we are constantly checking his every move and sound. This camera is a vast improvement over the previous monitor we used for our last child. It has more features than I knew were available for a baby monitor. The wireless monitor has a range of 1500 feet according to the package and I walked around with it to the furthest parts of my house and even to the mailbox and still never lost reception. The wireless monitor is the epicenter of this great setup. You can do everything with it that you would expect from a high end baby monitor. You can pan/tilt, zoom in and out, turn on the selectable lullaby’s and set a timer for them to play. If the camera senses noise, it can automatically begin playing the lullaby for a set amount of time that you choose. It has sound and motion notifications that can be adjusted for sensitivity. It also has the ability to monitor the room temperature for the location it’s mounted. Most surprisingly, you can add additional cameras and use the same wireless monitor with them. I can’t speak highly enough about this baby monitor. So far, I don’t think I’ve seen one better that’s on the market. The only option I would like to have seen on this is the ability to view the camera remotely, but that isn’t really that big of an issue because if either my wife or I want to see him, there is always FaceTime. I highly recommend this system for all parents with newborns and kids alike.
