I set the Panasonic SC-PM700PP up in my home office, and I have been consistently impressed by its ability to deliver exceptional sound quality. This system has become an integral part of my daily routine, allowing me to enjoy my playlists, podcasts, and more with crystal clear audio. The system boasts an 80W power output through its 2-channel configuration, featuring robust 4" woofers and sharp 2.4" tweeters in each speaker. These components work harmoniously to produce rich and detailed sound that fills the room, perfectly complementing my work-from-home environment. One of the standout features of the SC-PM700PP is its versatile connectivity options. The built-in Bluetooth functionality allows for seamless streaming from my iPhone, letting me switch between music and podcasts without any hassle. The ability to pair up to eight different Bluetooth devices is particularly beneficial for a family or a shared space, ensuring everyone's preferences can be easily accommodated. Additionally, the unit includes a built-in CD player and an FM radio, enriching the listening experience with a variety of media formats. The automatic radio tuning with 30 FM presets is a convenient feature, allowing me to easily access my favorite radio stations. The USB-A port for MP3 flash drive playback further enhances its utility, providing a simple way to play a wide array of pre-loaded audio files. Panasonic's dedication to sound quality is evident in their inclusion of Sound Remastering Technology, which significantly reduces noise and distortion. This technology ensures that even at higher volumes, the audio remains clear and enjoyable. Moreover, the front controls of the system are intuitively designed, featuring bass and treble knobs that allow for quick adjustments, making it easy to tailor the sound to my specific liking. The design of the SC-PM700PP is both elegant and functional, fitting neatly into my home office without taking up excessive space. The bass reflex port enhances low-end sounds, making the bass rich and full, which is ideal for a variety of music genres. The automatic shutoff feature is a thoughtful addition, promoting energy efficiency by turning the system off when I forget to. In conclusion, the Panasonic SC-PM700PP is a top-notch audio system that offers a blend of superior sound quality, extensive features, and user-friendly functionality. Whether for music, podcasts, or radio, it provides a consistently satisfying auditory experience, making it an excellent investment for anyone looking to enhance their home audio setup.

In the age of surround sound and Bluetooth speakers, it is a pleasant surprise to find a well made and great sounding two channel stereo system. The Panasonic SC-PM700 CD Stereo System has a very small footprint compared to other systems, and is perfect for a bedroom, office, dorm room or, in my case, the garage. The head unit is about 8 inches wide, 4.5 inches tall, and just over 10 inches deep (including the volume knob and speaker jacks). Newer car audio head units are bigger. This system offers 40 watts output into a 6 ohm load at a not ideal 10% THD. Not for audiophiles. It has a slide out tray CD player, Bluetooth connectivity and a 5 volt, 500 mA USB A port for charging and MP3 player input. Speakers are two-driver, a 4 inch cone woofer and a 2 3/8 inch cone tweeter. Again, they are 6 ohm. The speakers appear to be constructed of 3/8 inch particle board, black wood-grain laminate on tops, sides and bottom with a non-removable front grill and a port and wire terminals on an unfinished back. Since I will be using this in the garage, I will be spraying a clear coat on the back to seal it against moisture. Sound quality is quite good, stereo separation is much better than a single unit Bluetooth speaker and it does get loud without distorting. This is a very nice unit that I will be getting al lot of use out of. I definitely recommend it.

I decided to put these in my home gym where I spend most of my time when listening to some tunes. The compact nature of this stereo system made it perfect for the environment. Although I do have an old CD collection, I opted to use the Bluetooth option straight from my phone. The sound quality is great and the ability to control bass and treble on the receiver enhances the listening experience as you're able to tweak for specific genres of music. I found myself dialing in the right preset to tailor my workout and listening experience. Beyond music, I also used this stereo system connected to a streaming device through Bluetooth to watch TV while on my runs on the treadmill. At full volume, the sound is still crystal clear and loud enough to hear the audio over the sound of my feet pounding on the treadmill. Overall, this stereo system is great for filling a small space. It's a bonus that it is compact and small enough to fit on a shelf and blend into the room. I'm ecstatic to have this as my workout companion.

The Panasonic bluetooth, CD stereo system is a really great compact unit that comes with a surprisingly rich sound. Bass on the Panasonic is tight, not boomy like many compact stereo systems tend to be. The 80 watts of power is room filling and the speakers seems to handle lows and highs surprisingly well. The Panasonic stereo system comes packaged nicely. As you remove the system from its packaging, you notice there are only four main parts to the package. The main unit, two speakers, the remote and the wiring. The Panasonic stereo did not come with a battery for the remote, you will have to have a single AA battery in order to use the remote control. The overall footprint of the Panasonic stereo is barely over eighteen inches so it can fit on nearly any shelf. The Panasonic stereo is kind of a mixture of old school AM and FM along with the ability to play compact disks and more modern technology in the fact that is can also stream music via blue tooth. It is extremely easy to set up and pait to your phone. For smaller rooms or as a source of music in you kids room, this is a very delightful product. I still can't get over the volume and quality I am getting out of this budget friendly unit. I like it and my teenage daughter really likes it not that its in her room. Looking for something compact? You might give this unit a try.

So, as a 90's baby, I have a rather large CD collection, a lot of which I still loved listening to in the car. Call me old school, but there was just something so magical about going to Sam Goody, browsing all the albums, looking at the artwork... Then once you purchased and could get the darned thing open (without cutting off a finger!) and slid that disc into your CD player - Pure joy! Digital albums and online music streaming can't hold a candle to that awesome experience. Sorry. Believe it or not, I purchased my latest car last year and it wasn't until I was driving it home and wanted to listen to some music, test out the sound system, that I went to pop in a CD and realized THE CAR DIDN'T HAVE A CD PLAYER! I was so disappointed, but I couldn't take the car back. I'm only able to use Bluetooth from my phone or listen to Sirius XM. Supposedly 'commercial free radio', yeah right, but I digress. I've had to settle for using my Blu-ray player at home to listen to my CD's through my sound bar. I got the Panasonic system because I really just wanted a dedicated source to play my CD's through a quality sound system that's actually designed to be used to listen to music. This machine sounds really good! The speakers are small, but sound just as good as my neighbor's system with an extra little amp for bass. There are multiple sound settings, depending on the type of music you're listening to. I was even able to connect my TV to it via Bluetooth, and I honestly like the sound of certain movies through these speakers more than through my soundbar. The system is compact, so I can take it places with me. I do small Karaoke parties as a side-gig, and I can hook a mic up to it. Panasonic lives up to it's OG standard of providing a high quality electronics item that is meant for music! I really love it. Been playing my collection for the last two nights almost non-stop.

Great Little Stereo, with One Omission.

The Panasonic Stereo system is a great little system for a bedroom, dorm room, workshop, camper, or anywhere where good sound in a smaller footprint is needed. The sounding build quality are both very good, and the unit provides great sound quality at a very reasonable price. The unit arrives very well packaged and comes with everything needed to get started listening to your favorite tunes except for the one AA battery to power the remote. In the bus are the stereo receiver, the two speakers with permanently attached speaker wires, a power cord, an FM antenna, the remote, and a user guide. Setup is quick and easy, and detailed in the included manual, with excellent drawings to guide you. Simply connect the speakers to the push terminals on the rear panel of the receiver, install the FM antenna wire on the center pin of the antenna coax connector, and plug in the power cord at the rear panel and wall outlet. That's it, press the power button and tune your favorite FM station and you have music. Bluetooth pairing was also a quick and easy process that is well documented in the included manual. In operation, the stereo performs well, and sounds very good, especially at this price point. I placed it in a small bedroom, and it had no issue filling the room with sound. I also found the FM tuner performance excellent, picking up distant stations that my more expensive stereo receiver and AVR struggle to cover. CD playback was as expected with excellent sound quality and easy to use controls on both the front panel of the receiver and the remote. Bluetooth playback from my iPhone also worked as expected with a solid connection and very good sound quality. I connected my headphones to the included 3.5mm headphone jack and also enjoyed great sound quality. Overall, this stereo does everything one would expect from a mini system, and bass response was much better than expected for such tiny speakers. Now for the one glaring omission. There are no 3.5mm or RCA aux input jacks. I found this very interesting. I prefer to use a network streaming device like a WiiM mini so I can start a stream from my phone and then my phone isn't tied up playing music if I want to take a call or do something else with my phone that would interrupt the music. I was able to connect one of my streamers via bluetooth and work around this little issue, but for a device that I would leave connected to the stereo, I prefer the security and lack of hassle of a physical connection, so this omission matters to me, and I think it will for others as well. Overall, this is a great little stereo that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to a friend.

What I really loved about the CD stereo system is the compact size. I needed a music system for my commercial space, and I wanted something that didn’t take up a lot of space. This absolutely fits the bill! Those tiny speakers are surprisingly powerful. I was skeptical when I saw they were 80 watts. I couldn’t believe that its size would allow that much power. It was packaged well and securely in an eco-friendly brown box. It has radio, CD, Bluetooth, and USB inputs and old fashioned knobs on the unit. This Panasonic comes with a remote that is nice, concise and easy to use. Unlike a lot of newer remotes, it has to be pointing right at the receiver to work. That will be my only negative comment. The sound is rich and clean and fills my large store space with great sound! I will jam when it’s empty and the music carries well across the store at volume level 22. Just as a test of sound, I took the volume up to 30. It was super loud, not distorted, but I didn’t want to disturb my neighbors. The sound quality was fantastic at that level but if I want to have a conversation with anyone, it goes down to 15. This is really a great compact unit and I’m happy to have it. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone needing good sound in a compact package!

Set up was quick, the receiver box fit really nicely in a small shelf space and the speakers provided good sound. The length of the speaker wire was very good - not too short or too long in my case - and standard quick connections on the back means mobility and customization are there too. Bluetooth connection to my phone was simple and the sound didn't appear to lag too badly in the case where I was watching video so that was a plus. The profile is really small for the size of the sound . I was a bit surprised given the woofer and tweeter come in at 10cm/6cm (about 4 inches and 2.5 inches). Sound was clear and maintained good quality at both low and high volume. CD play was a very nice feature as I have quite a few of those floating around, menu was straightforward for track selection. The display brightness was a little tough to view from a distance in direct sunlight, but that's fine for me as I am a tune it and forget it guy when it comes to AM/FM - radio reception was very good with a simple wired antenna that I attached. All and all a very nice little compact system with all the features that I needed and in the ofrm factor I was looking for. I'd recommend this.

It seems like multifunction bookshelf stereos have been more and more rare to find, especially with bluetooth speakers and streaming music dominating the industry. I was looking for a new stereo for the garage, and so far this new Panasonic has been perfect. FM radio and CD playback are nice features to have, even though I don't often listen to CD's. The bluetooth was easy to pair to my phone, and works flawlessly with my Youtube Music. 80W power output is more than enough to fill my whole garage with sound. While it doesn't have room-shaking bass or anything, the audio is clear and full. I was surprised how compact the entire unit is, and set up is a breeze. The remote is tiny and only needs one AA battery, but it works well for switching modes and adjust volume while I am detailing my car. This stereo is the perfect size for a small shelf, book case, bedroom, or to put in the garage or shed somewhere when tunes are needed. It's nice that Panasonic is still making stereos like this. It's definitely not a crazy 1000W surround sound system for a home theater, but it has been nice to just listen to music and relax.

After unboxing there, the setup is easy and minimal. Plugin the power cord, connect the speakers and FM antenna. It is a perfect unit for maybe a bedroom or dorm providing really good sound and multiple input options for classic listeners such as FM or CD along with more modern options like Bluetooth and USB. Note that controls on the main unit are minimal Bass & Treble, Selector, Playback controls along with a headphone jack. Most operations require the remote so don’t lose it. The remote is kind of short and stubby but was easy to use and has a decent quality feel to it. It has a built-in clock, but you never see the time unless pressing the Display button on the remote while the unit is turned off. I think what the clock is really for is the Play Timer feature that will turn on at a certain time for wake up, etc. The first thing I did was to try out the FM Radio first since that was easiest to get started with. I found it to have good reception with the supplied antenna. The best bet is to just let it scan and do automatic station presetting. Manual presetting is a little more cumbersome to do. Once you have stations preset and FM is the selected mode you just use the << and >> controls on the unit or remote to switch between channels but make sure Tune Mode is set to Preset. I wish it would display the RDS information like you see in most car radios but sadly all you get is the channel number. The CD/Disc option is very straightforward and operates just like any other player with Play/Pause/Stop/Skip/Search controls. Under the Play Mode menu you also have random and repeat options. On the display you get elapsed time and track when switching. I loaded up a USB stick with a bunch of mp3 media and plugged in. It scanned and found all of the music. Playback is similar to CD but you get additional options for switching to and playing all tracks from a given album. Also, there is more information about the playing track when you press the Display menu repeatedly. Note that USB devices larger than 32GB are not supported. I paired my phone via Bluetooth and had no issues. Basic playback controls work from the remote to control whatever music source is playing on your device. I would suggest to raise the input level from 0 to 2, otherwise when you adjust the volume and switch back to another source like FM it will be really loud. Speakers sound great for most listening volumes but don’t expect to be able to crank up the volume real loud without distortion. Permanently attached speaker wires are between 3’ and 4’ so the speakers will need to be placed near the unit. The wire gauge seemed kind of small but is sufficient to drive them. The grill doesn’t come off so I couldn’t see underneath but configuration looks to be a 2 way with about a 4” main driver and small tweeter.

Panasonic really got this multi Stereo System with CD, Bluetooth and Radio product right. I was so elated that I could dust off and used my CD Collection again. The unboxing and hooking up speaker wire to CD player brought back old memories. Immediately played one of my Jazz CDs and sat back and relaxed. The sound is great at Stereo with 40W per speaker. The remote is the perfect size in controlling the Stereo System and multi features switching back and forth from CD, Bluetooth and Radio without having to move. You can also select and save the sound effect for each playing mode. The Bluetooth feature paired with phone and was able to hear favorite Jazz Playlist from Pandora and Spotify. The Radio option have three options to set up as many as 30 FM Radio stations: Manual tuning, Memory/ automatic presetting and manual presetting. I went with the manual/automatic presetting for stations to preset number up to 15 FM stations in my area. To select a preset station as in setup through the Play/Menu button by pressing preset and going up and down. There's plenty of options available for personal customization you can do to the Panasonic Stereo System with CD, Bluetooth and Radio to make it your own.

The Panasonic Stereo system comes in a well packed box with player, 2 speakers , remote & written set of instructions. It has 1 CD slot, FM radio & Bluetooth connectivity to up to 8 devices. Setting this up was like going back to equipment from the 1970s & the wires to the speakers were retro. The unit is very compact & would be good for someone in a small apartment or dorm room. I don’t quite get why one would want to go back to playing one CD at a time. I did dig out a whole stack of old CDs & played artist I hadn’t heard in a long time, which was entertaining. I generally run numerous Alexa devices throughout the whole house & have one connected to wired speakers plus Alexa devices in many rooms & I prefer playing music from Satellite Radio. But CDs definitely do sound better. I don’t really see the advantage of connecting my phone via Bluetooth since my music on my phone is not that great. This unit has very good speakers with adjustable bass & treble. It even has a jack to connect wired speakers as well as connecting headphones or earbuds via Bluetooth. I didn’t hook up the FM antenna since the wires looked lame & I had no where to attach the wires since I didn’t want then on the wall. The unit also has Auto shutoff. Overall, if you want a CD player & have limited space, this unit would be great.

I got this system to use in my downstairs woodshop to give me something to listen to that was versatile e.g. has radio, bluetooth and cd playback. I must say I am very impressed by the sound quality from this small package. It came packaged very well and damage free. Very simple to assemble and hook up. Attach speaker wires that are approx. 4 feet long and FM antenna, plug in power cord and you are ready to go. Manual is well written and easy to follow if you need to. Note: does not come with a battery for the remote. 1 AA battery is needed. Bluetooth pairing is easy and straightforward, you can pair up to 8 devices to the unit. CD can be ejected from either the remote or with a button on the front of the receiver. There is also a USB input on the rear of the unit that you can plug a flash drive into. All files thru the USB must be MP3 files. On the FM side it can hold up to 30 presets for stations. It also has a clock and a timer to turn it on at a specified time or use it as a sleep timer. You can manually adjust the sound quality or use 1 of 5 preset eq settings. Bass and treble can be adjusted to positive or negative in 4 increments. It also has a setting for D Bass ( I find this most desirable) and also turn surround on and off, although I didn't really hear a lot of difference but I have the speakers quite close together. There is also an auto off feature and a bluetooth standby that turns the unit on when the paired device is connected. A headphone jack on the front of the unit is also included. As I said earlier the sound is outstanding for a unit of this size and it will easily fill a large area with sound. Everything can be controlled by the remote. At this price point I think you would be hard pressed to find something better, especially with the versatility of all the different sources. Very satisfied

I found the SC-PM700 to have very good sound and some good basic features in an easy to use sound system. Design The main unit has a display and a handful of buttons. There is a large, easy to see and use volume dial. There are also two smaller dials for bass and treble. There's a headphone jack in the front. The back doesn't have any extra inputs or outputs. The speaker wires are easy to connect. There's a CD tray that ejects from the front to insert or remove a disc. You can use buttons on the main unit to control it or the included remote (it takes one AA battery which is not included). Bluetooth The audio playback via Bluetooth works without issue. You can switch it between modes for quality or a more stable connection. It's set to the quality mode by default and that sounded great. You can use controls on the remote or the main unit to control the playback, as you would expect. CD Player I like the tray loading CD player. No snapping the disc onto something in the middle that holds it. The audio playback works great! The only thing I noticed is it does not pickup where it left off and there doesn't seem to be an option to enable that. It's not usually an issue for me but sometimes I use it to play audio dramas and for that it would be nice. USB audio playback I was glad to find that it reads a flash drive and can play MP3 files off it. The display shows enough characters to go through a list of folders and find what you're looking for. It actually works much better than some I've seen for finding folders. Even with many on the flash drive the load time wasn't long and I found going through the list to work very well for having a single line display. When you go into a folder it starts playing songs in that folder right away. It does resume from USB audio playback if you turn it off and back on. Radio It comes with an external antenna that plugs in the back so you can listen to FM stations. I tested this a bit and it works fine. It will search for the next strong station or you can go through one at a time, but you use a button. Sound quality was good. It doesn't seem to support HD Radio. Audio settings You can adjust bass and treble as well as turn a "Surround" mode on or set a general mode to settings like "Heavy" or "Voice". I like the Surround and have been using that. It definitely give a bit more of a room filling feel to the sound. You can also save audio settings either as 1, 2, or 3. Sound I'm very happy with the sound quality and volume. Not only does it sound great in general, but each speaker has a tube in the back for bass I think, and it shows. I think the low end is pretty strong for the size of the speakers. The volume dial works great and gives the granularity needed for a good volume range. It goes up to 50. I wasn't sure how 40 watts per speaker would sound...it does get very loud at least for in the room I have it in which is about 12 feet by 25 feet. Remote The remote is infrared so you need to point the remote towards the main unit but it works very well. Instead of just one button to change sources, there are three buttons, Bluetooth, USB/CD, and Radio. I like that much better than cycling through four options. The volume buttons are to the left and right of each other. I like when are above and below each other but it doesn't really matter. Updates The manual gives a website you can download updates from. I checked and, at least at that time, there were no updates for it available. I'd love to see an update that adds a resume feature for the CD playback. Summary This is a great audio playback device for a room where you don't need or want a TV but want some good options for good audio playback. I found it easy to use and didn't have any problem with the functionality or audio skipping during playback.

I wouldn’t say that I’m necessarily an audiophile, but I do have a certain standard I hold any headphones and speakers I purchase to. I also have an extensive CD collection because I still like to own physical media in this day and age. So, I was very excited to see what this Panasonic 80w stereo had to offer. This unit, unfortunately, is lacking in a couple of regards. First off, the unit is a breeze to set up. It took all of 5 minutes to unbox the main receiver/amplifier and speakers, connect them up, and get the unit running. I first tuned it to a local radio station and the unit didn’t sound half bad at all. The voices talking on the local sports radio program sounded clear and crisp, with some low end to their voices as you’d expect. Next, I pulled out my old CD book and slid in one of my Kendrick Lamar discs. This is where things got a little messy. Without even adjusting any audio settings out of the box, these speakers sounded like they were blowing out over some simple 808’s and slightly heavy bass. So I went to another CD, one of Jack White’s solo albums Lazzaretto, hoping to get a better result. I did not get a better result. So, knowing it wasn’t an album specific problem I adjusted the two tone-knobs (bass and treble, there is no mid adjustment). I turned the bass and treble both down one notch each and had a slightly better sounding result, the bass wasn’t distorting at all. But the lack of mid adjustment just meant the mix kept sounding a bit muddy, with not much dynamic range from low to high end. Once I fixed the tone, I put in my Now: That’s What I Call Music Volume #1 and played some late 90’s nostalgia while toggling through the audio presets. I personally wouldn’t recommend using them, as they all sounded only marginally different between them, and going one notch down on the bass and treble knobs in my opinion sounds superior. I gave it a week of playing music in my office while working from home, but ultimately it just left me wanting a fuller sounding experience. I own another compact 5-CD changer stereo that Best Buy currently sells for the same price but sounds much fuller and more balanced. I had high hopes for this Panasonic CD player, being that CD players in general are a dying breed, but unfortunately, I was not overly impressed with what this unit had to offer.

Sound Quality This unit for these small speakers can get quite loud at 80w and I could still hear the vocals with no problem. There are 3 My Sound profiles for you to personalize or you can choose between preset EQ and still tweak bass, treble etc…You can actually distinguish between the choices as well knowing changes are actually happening so Kudos to Sony for this. I do like that there are also physical buttons on the receiver for bass, treble, volume and such. Media Choices I still have a CD collection and it works quite well. I also Bluetooth streamed my phone and Bluetooth Turn table as I have a record collection as well. There Is also a USB option which I don’t rely on that much and of course FM radio which worked ok for some stations with the supplied Antenna Remote control This remote is just the right size. Even though it is half the size of a TV remote, the buttons perfectly match the tip of my thumb thus being easy to control. You can control all functions including a display dimming function for the Receiver display for night listening. Again “Very Nice Remote” Space Saver This works well for me in my den where space is limited and it looks great. The speakers span approximately 6.5 feet apart with the included cables which for me was ample. Final Thoughts It just can’t get any simpler in design, yet very functional to address all forms of media and have great sound. With a sturdy build quality, Sony has once again made a quality, durable product at an affordable price!

This is a really nice, compact stereo system from Panasonic. Right out of the box, it was super easy to setup and start using. The clarity of sound was quite amazing. FM was crystal clear and easily picked up all of my favorite - and more - classic rock stations. When it "found" a station it was great. No static or going in and out of range. Outstanding clarity and "stereo" sound with my CD! I could turn up the volume quite high and it was terrific. Currently, I'm unable to verify the Bluetooth and USB connections because I don't have any devices for those connection types available. The PANASONIC Stereo System was extremely well-packaged. With all of the styrofoam surrounding each of the 3 components, nothing could have damaged the components from an external method. I was surprised at how much the 2 speakers weighed; they were quite heavy for their size. The main component was very light weight, but worked exceptionally well, and I suspect it will last for many years. I would definitely recommend this PANASONIC Stereo System to anyone looking for a more shelf-stable system for the office, living room or bedroom. I know we'll be placing it in our new bedroom after construction is completed!

In a world where Bluetooth and streaming seems to rule it’s nice to revisit the world of physical CD’s and local radio. This Panasonic Stereo System with CD, Bluetooth and Radio is a small but powerful option that lets you reminisce in the “old” ( CD’s and real local radio stations) while still being able to get your fill from your digital library or streaming via Bluetooth. The small footprint is great for anyone with limited space like a dorm room or small apartment but sound isn’t sacrificed. Setup was super simple. It picked up my local fm stations with ease and very little manipulation of the antenna but of course your surroundings and the signal in your area will play a big part in that. The customization options are nice but I didn’t feel the need to make many adjustments to get great sound regardless of what playback method I chose. I definitely enjoyed the ride down memory lane playing all of my CD’s that have been sitting stored in containers in the closet…and it appears my kids have enjoyed it also since they have been exploring my collection instead of opting for streaming.
