Picture quality is excellent, ease of use. Good model for decent price.

I replaced a blu ray with this 4k player. I own a Samsung 4k player too. I actually preferred the Panasonic though. However, I rather recently put in a blu ray of the Valkyrie and while it would read the menu it said it couldn't play the disc. Hmmm. While some discs can go bad I tried it in the Samsung and it played. Ok, so I put in a 4K of Private Ryan and it played OK until a certain part and it froze up. Coincidence ? Probably not. The chance of picking a random disc not being playable and another freezing in a particular part makes it probable it's the player. However, if memory serves It did play a recent Lord of the Rings 4K disc perfectly which i think i tried after the issues. I'll have to try more discs though to see if I run into more issues. I stream alot though directly from TV and watch alot of the movies that way too though. In any case the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is the probable issue with the player. Interesting I see another person is reporting the the same issue with random freezing. If it is indeed the players it's not good and I wouldn't recommend. For now I would still recommend assuming this isn't a common issue. Since owning for almost 4 months though I can't return it so hopefully this doesn't become worse or more of an issue.

This is the best quality for the money, in comparison to the LG equivalent. I bought this and it great even makes my old DVD’s look good on the 86 in I got myself for Christmas. As far as why I even can compare the Panasonic to the LG is because, I noticed my older upscale 4K Samsung was not as clear and crisp as 4K movie streams. I went out and bought and bought the LG first but wasn’t satisfied with the picture, so I exchanged for the Panasonic. In 97’ my first DVD player was a Panasonic and I loved the quality then, I bought the LG to match my tv in brands even though specifications were very similar. I’m very happy this Panasonic it’s very recommended to anyone who reads this.

This is my first Panasonic and 4K player purchased. I love the 4K quality and upgrade over the standard blu ray player. I'm extremely happy with the price and performance of this player and would highly recommend it.

I had to replace my old one that was a different name brand. However I love it. Plays great bluerays and my dvds. Picture and sound great. Easy setup.

We were never really able to appreciate our 4k television with our old Blu-ray player. Now, it is like we have a movie theater in our living room! Easy hookup and setup. Great quality. Definitely worth the extra $20 over the competition model.

For those looking for a great (budget) reference 4K Bluray player, this is a great option. Panasonic has always been keen on making sure the features they put into every blu-ray player actually matter and perform well. For example, their chroma performance has always performed well and compete at the level of other high-end blu-ray players (yes, even OPPOs). They did cut corners on some things in order to keep the costs low, such as the build quality (very light cheap plastic-feeling) and very basic remote. However, this blu-ray player performs where it matters, and that it when it's playing 4K Disc movies. Highly recommend for those AV enthusiastic who don't want to spend a whole lot on a bluray player but still want high quality picture.

It is working well and I do believe it is a keeper. I bought 2 other smaller ones and had a lot of trouble with them

This 4k player gives you the ability to change the HDR settings which can really help improve the overall HDR picture depending on your TV/Display. Its very responsive when playing movies and seems to work well. I dont use the internal apps such as Netflix so cant comment on those. I also tried the Sony x700 and I feel the Panasonic Ub420 is better all around despite not having Dolby Vision.

Easy to set up. Amazing picture quality. May be lacking in additional streaming services for those that are looking for that, but as a decent, budget friendly 4K Blu Ray player. It's a great buy!

I love this 4k blu ray player. The picture is great and the sound quality is amazing especially when compared to streaming platforms. The size is perfect and the build quality is excellent. Very happy with this purchase.

It takes a minute to boot but then it is essentially a purpose-built computer, so no big deal. Once running I was pleasantly surprised by the picture quality and the fact that it plays almost every media file out there. The only small complaint I had was that it is limited to 4TB external drives. Maybe a firmware update will boost that. Anyway, this is the best DVD-BD disc player I have owned and I've owned many top Panasonic models.

This replaced a Sony I've had for a few years that got fried during a recent electrical storm. I've only used it for basic DVD's a few times since I've had it, but have no issues so far. It has performed well and was very easy to set up. If you don't have a newer TV that will readily accept an HDMI cable, you will have issues (my previous player had the option to use the HDMI or the old color coded connectors red/white/yellow but this one only has the HDMI option).

This 4k blu ray player is perfect for people who have a tv that doesn't support dolby vision. I own a Samsung S90C OLED and it can do HDR10+ as well HDR10 it looks great with a Audioquest carbon hdmi cable with great sound quality and the price is awesome!

Very satisfied with this 4K Blu-ray Player. Does NOT support DolbyVision, but neither does my TV. Bought it when it was on sale and I am very impressed with the quality. Noticeable upgrade from using my Xbox One S as a Blu-ray player. Love the HDR optimizer.

My mom had a DVD player that died. I got this as a replacement and was easy to set up and is working great.

Overall a fantastic, high quality BD/DVD player. We use this exclusively for BD/DVD discs in our living room with TV and nice sound bar because our stereo setup is separate. We moved "up" to this because so many other "inexpensive" BD players we've tried in the past have trouble tracking. And when your kid(s) watch rented DVDs and BDs from the library that can be troubling. It plays 95% of the disks we've put in it new and old. And while it may pause from time to time it seems to do a good job of only skipping as far ahead as necessary so you don't miss too much "beyond the scratch." Don't really need to use for streaming since we can do that through the TV. Video is fantastic. And sound is phenomenal, too.

This Panasonic Ultra HD Hi Res player has met all of our expectations. New 4 K discs are fabulous and older, blu rays are clear as a bell. No disappointments in our purchase at all.

Bought this on sale for $150. Very happy with the blu Ray player. Bought this to use instead on my Xbox one x. Easy setup and excellent picture quality for the price point. Same as the 820 model this one just doesn’t support Dolby vision.
