Surprisingly Disappointed

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.As someone who has three older Panasonic blu-ray players in the house (and loves them), I specifically bought this one for the "Hi-Res Audio" feature so as to watch live concert blu-ray recordings and to play music CDs. Long story short, this player doesn't sound good. Period. Have it connected to a $2,800 A/V receiver, and while the image quality is good as a plus, it sounds thin and flat no matter how much I try to tweak the A/V receiver to make the sound from this player better. My older Panasonic players surprisingly sound much better on doing A/B comparisons on the same receiver, but the older players don't have as good image quality, And this was the case whether I was playing a blu-ray concert/movie or a music CD (CD music recordings sound horrible on this player). I may keep it to watch movies where I want to prioritize image quality over sound quality, but for music/live concert blu-ray recordings, I'm definitely back to using my older Panasonic players until I find another alternative.
