    This item was to be installed on a new Series 8 Samsung TV at our beach rental. On 4/28 I attempted to install it - the TV sees that something is installed in the HDMI port it was connected to but when the TV tries to communicate with it, it will not proceed with installation. Several attempts were made with new and existing cables with the same results. I cannot tell if it is the TV or the Blu-Ray that is the issue but there is definitely either a defect or an incompatibility issue. I will be testing it at home when I return to see if it works there.

    I bought this device as a replacement for another that broke just after a year of use. The video and audio are ok, no complaints. What I don’t like to much is that is not very easy to use and sometimes feels slow.

    Amazing 4K Player! If you don’t need Dolby Vision like I did for my projector the. The 420 is all you need compared to the 820.

    I really feel it is unfair to rate this Blu-Ray player because I had to return it as it was not working and I replaced it with a Sony Blu-ray player. I like Panasonic generally but this one was defective.

    Glitching. Some 4K movies pixelate in the middle of the movie and the audio is losing synchronization. Just month old player. Will get replacement.
