Paper Mario Color Splash

fun goodbye to Wii U
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is really pretty, and a lot of fun. I got to say I'm gonna miss my Wii U once the Switch comes out, but this game is a great way to end the consoles life!

Better than Sticker Star
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not as good as The Thousand Year Door but much better than Sticker Star. Corrects a lot of the issues that game had. Excellent dialogue, very entertaining.

I love Paper Mario, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Paper Mario takes a step in the right direction with the great-looking Color Splash, which continues the series’ trend of moving away from its RPG roots in favor of new gimmicks -- this time paint instead of stickers -- that add a unique twist to its turn-based combat. The gameplay has some much needed sprucing up after the ambitious but poorly executed Sticker Star on the 3DS, but the paper-thin story lacks the depth and resonance of some of Paper Mario’s earlier games, causing it to feel as two dimensional as its main character.

oh, how I wanted to love this
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a huge fan of the Paper Mario series since I was a preteen. Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door [gamecube] is probably one of my favorite games ever created. This game is not even close to that. The gameplay mechanics are very unrewarding. And while Color Splash is vastly better than the horrid Sticker Star, bringing back the rpg fighting style but with the horrible sticker quality and not even giving us experience points... That was a very BAD move. I also find it kind of depressing that Nintendo has seen it fit to strip away all of the unique characters known to the paper universe and stick to bland white bread toads as all of the npcs you can interact with [BRING BACK KOOPAS, GOOMBAS, BOOS, PINATAS... FEMALE Toads! B R I NG 'EM BACK, NINTENDO.] This is not to say that there aren't SOME positives. This game has plenty of charming and hilarious moments throughout it's [very simple] storyline, which I was relieved to see [sticker star had NONE of this]. And your paint bucket sidekick is a pretty cute little fella, I did enjoy coloring the paper world with him by my side. Bottom line? I saw shadows of what made this series so great originally, which while a little depressing, also gave me hope that Nintendo will take this series back in the right direction. I would recommend getting this game if you're a mega fan of Paper Mario like I am, but only during a very good sale.

Not exactly like the old games but still fun!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think the title says it all. This game isn't much like the original Paper Mario games that most people loved, as it adds in a strange card fighting mechanic that almost ruins the fighting in the game. I find myself trying to avoid fights due to this as the rest of the game is a lot of fun! The characters are funny, finding all the unpainted spots is fun and all of the normal Paper Mario sillyness is there too. Now if only this new fighting thing could just be replaced some how...

Nice sendoff to the WiiU
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is much better game than the 3DS Paper Mario. Players should expect quality writing and fun gameplay much like other console titles. For those new to the series the Paper Mario franchise is a low key RPG. I like to think of them as the Animaniacs of Nintendo games where they are cute on the surface but the writing is more appreciated by older players.

Revival of Paper Mario
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a while it seemed like we wouldn't get a awesome paper mario like the n64 and GameCube and some liked the Wii one. Since the sticker star version we thought the franchise was ruined. Paper Mario Color Splash makes the series lovable again! Control scheme is good, very funny and colorful and the way it plays is great. Though it is still walking away from the RPG Paper Mario, this still is almost just as good. Definitely a title to get your hands on!

Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game got negative feedback when it was announced but I kept an open mind and I am glad I picked it up near its release. Before I barely played my Wiiu and after getting this game I couldn't put it down. I barely finish games as I get distracted but I am fairly close to finishing this one. Color Splash gave me my love back for my WiiU Highly recommend

This game is so beautiful!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know why this game got so much hate before it was released. You can tell they put a lot of thought and work into the visuals and how everything looks in the world. Maybe some of the gameplay isn't what people are used to in a paper mario series, but I would get this just to see how the world is presented because it is amazing.
