Fun but not as fun as Color Splash according to my 8 year old. Cant blame Nintendo for trying. Still fun to have more Mario games around.

The atmosphere and humorous dialogue kept me smiling throughout. Turn based battles are now more akin to quick think puzzles, though the boss fights are in a league of their own mechanically. Plenty of variety in gameplay. The story is not much to speak of though and I feel like it should of been called "The Origami Invasion" since the main villain is hardly used.

As with all paper Mario games, the writing in Origami King is hilarious and incredible and the visuals are wonderful. This game is so much fun and I would say the only drawback for me is that they could’ve done more with the battle system. The system itself is super fun and clever, but without traditional RPG leveling up and things like that, sometimes it’s easy to overlook the battles. That being said, super enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend.

Paper Mario Origami King is a welcome return to form! No longer much of an RPG, but still an enjoyable play with great dialog and a fun story. The regular battles grow tiresome sometimes as you are no longer gaining experience, but the gorgeous visuals and storyline make up for that. Would recommend for any fan of the Paper Mario series.

Not like the Wii Paper Mario, but excellent in it's own way. Good game play and hour upon hours of entertainment. Well worth the money!!

So the story is pretty enjoyable, they have witty dialogue and it's a fun time. However the battle sequences are dreadful. It's cool at the beginning but then you want to avoid the fights as much as possible. It's so repetative and non enjoyable. Of you've played the first 2 paper marios I don't recommend it. If it's your first and only care about the story it's a fun time.

My son and I played through this game together, and had quite a great time. It had quite a lot of entertaining characters, funny dialogue, and interesting puzzles! As a note for parents, it is necessary to read the character dialogue to understand the game, but with some reading assistance, this is a game that even very young gamers can enjoy.

This game is definitely the classic adventure that you find in the Paper Mario series. I haven't played since the Paper Mario 64 version, so I had some high expectations. Unfortunately, the new battle system breaks away from traditional RPG leveling up and grind, and instead works in its own way. A solid game, but little to no replay value.

This game got me very excited. Since ive been a fan of the series for quite some time. I was disappointed with the last 2 entries. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this game! The story is great, the gameplay feels good, and the progression is solid. Overall its a great that you should give a shot!

I particularly loved how the earlier Paper Mario games (the 1st three) brought RPG elements into Mario's world, being a spiritual successor to Squaresoft & Nintendo's collaboration, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 Stars. However, IMO, after the 3rd game (Super Paper Mario), this series started to go downhill. Sticker Star & Color Splash were both major disappointments to me. This game, Origami King, is better than both of those, but nowhere near as good as the 1st three games. There's a lack of the RPG genre (exp, etc) that made this series what it is to begin with. I surmise Nintendo is focusing too much on trying fresh new ideas, as opposed to evolving the RPG elements that made the 1st three games great, especially The Thousand-Year Door. IMO, this is better than the last two entries, Sticker Star & Color Splash, but doesn't bring the series back on track enough to come close to comparing to the 1st three games. Rating the whole series. 1. Paper Mario = 2 thumbs up. 2. The Thousand-Year Door = 2 + thumbs up. 3. Super Paper Mario = 1 thumb up. 4. Sticker Star = 2 thumbs down. 5. Color Splash = 1 thumb down. 6. Origami King = 1 thumb held halfway.

The game looks great, runs great, and is good fun.....until you get into the standard battles. Boring at best, these battles serve little purpose other than to get in your way as you get nothing out of them other than things you get for free outside of battle. Just blow through or avoid the regular battles and have fun exploring the world and finding hidden Toads. Boss battles are interesting at least and can be fun.

As always, Nintendo has delivered a fantastic game! Creative and original game mechanics, fun story, and innovate character design. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible. Perfect game for the 10-12 age set (older, too!). A don't-miss game.

Good game, Def better then i thought it would be, story can be a bit cheesy since it is geared towards kids but the mechanics are pretty interesting and so is the combat but that can take a bit to get used to, overall happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxed game

After a few down titles, this Paper Mario brings back the great experience found in the original N64 title. Battle mechanics are great, looks amazing for its given style, and the story is classic Nintendo. If you've skipped the last few Paper Mario games, this is the one to get you back in.
