Feels like Hard Plastic
Posted .First the Pros - Nice if you have bigger hands and need more of a grip -Adds color (but only to the side/thumb) _You get a black set included with whichever color BestBuy GIVES YOU _Easy to put on and take off Cons -No way to pick which color you get (Grey, Blue or the Red). Black is always the second color _Might be just me but its a heavy plastic. After a long play (handheld) this may start to wear out your hands Overall: Best for people who want a second set and dont mind the hard plastic. Also if you have bigger hands. Otherwise it is hard to recommend considering you CAN NOT PICK THE COLOR (Lucky for me I got the one I wanted). In my opinion if you can get the Gel version that covers the entire joy-con get that. It is more comfortable but keep in mind that is more cosmetic but still has the thumb grip.

Don't buy!
|Posted .The come out too easily, and when they do.. they hit the shoulder buttons on the way. There are far better grips available. All of which will prevent use of the Joy-Con grip. So, you should keep that in mind. I'm using some rubber, sleeve-type grips on my main set of Joy-Cons, right now.. and i love them. However, i am using the thumbstick grip protectors from this set, and they are a nice addition.

Nice protection and more grip!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThese Joy-con armor guards are handy for multiple reasons: -More grip for handheld mode -More grip for when you hold a single Joy-con sideways -Offers protection if you drop the Switch or if you drop a Joy-con I looked at multiple solutions online, and most of them were silicone covers that seemed like they would slide off and also impede your ability to push buttons. These armor guards stay on and allow you to keep them on your Joy-cons even when you dock the Switch with the Joy-cons attached. I give them 4 stars because, while they don't impede your ability to press the face buttons like the silicon covers, they can get in the way of pressing the L & R buttons. They don't interfere with the ZR and ZL buttons, though. These also come with thumbstick grips that can spare wearing and tearing on the actual thumbstick tops, but they are convex and can make your thumb slide off sometimes. As a side note, these armored guards are the same as the blue ones that come with the Zelda Switch starting kit, and those thumbstick grips were better because they were a little convex compared to these stand-alone ones. Overall, I think these are the best solution if you're trying to find a way to make playing handheld mode more comfortable, and it also works as a solution to give you more to grip onto if you're playing with a single Joy-con sideways. I am used to how I have to reposition my fingers in order to push L & R while using these, but it did take some time.

Solid Protection, but Hard to Detach
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThese are solid plastic that help protect your Joy Con. It only covers the back and edge, but it is very sturdy. I debated if I would prefer that they cover the front of the Joy Con, but I actually like that it lets the color of the Joy Con show still. They only real draw back is that covers the button on the back of the Joy Con used to detach them from the actual Switch unit is hard to press down to get it to detach. I guess this could be seen as a plus if you're letting your kids play and you don't want them to take off the Joy Con and lose them.

Protection
|Posted .Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendI do not believe this will actually keep your controllers from breaking but it does add a little bit protection!!

Different in a good way
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI originally thought these might be a little squishier and thinner than I had hoped, but they are actual firm and pretty sturdy. They slipped on with ease and don't feel too intrusive to hold. Couple of downsides would be that as easily as they go on, they feel like they'd come off with just as much ease. Also, there's no real instructions for applying the joystick grips, which wasn't terribly hard, but some people might find it easier with some sort of instructions.

very comfortable
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendugh, the average man size; 5'8" My hands are not big but I tell my wife they are not small either. The joy-cons are a bit small and these grips really help with making it feel just a little bit bigger. These grips are not the best, but for all around use they are great. You can use it in handled mode or docked mode, that's the best part of it. Other grips require you to remove it from it's interior if you want to change "play" mode. They also don't feel cheap.

Not what is pictured
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendBut with that being said, the ones that are on the picture are not that great. I tried them and they make some buttons very difficult to press. The ones that this listing get you cover the back and side. The have a bump on the bottom of the joycon that evened it out with the bump on the top. Good grip.

a little protection for your switch
|Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendThe best thing about this product: The joystick thumb covers. It makes using the joysticks a lot more comfortable. The armor itself is just okay. I find myself fidgeting with the armor every so often because it is not a super snug fit. The armor actually comes on and off quite easily. I dropped my switch on the carpet once and the armor just popped off. The good thing about having the armor on is that you're able to set your switch down without any part of it touching the table. The armor does not provide a better grip. It actually feels less comfortable holding the switch with the armor on. Overall, the thumb stick covers are nice, but the armor itself could be much improved.

Good and comfortable
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThey fit and work very well, but it doesn't let you pick which colors you want so I got black and yellow. I thought I was gonna get red because of the picture. But overall they feel great and fit well.

Great Protection for Joy-Con
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendWhile most of the previous reviews deal with complaints about the colors the person received, they don't generally focus on the product itself. The Armor Guards do provide a good level of protection for the Joy-Cons. They have the added bonus of making them easier to grip as well. While I've been lucky enough not to have tested the durability of the Armor Guards, it seems likely that they will offer at least some security from dropping the Joy-Cons.

Good product and feels nice on the controller
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThese are good but like many reviewers it would have been nice if they covered the entire controller. At the discounted price I say sure get them it makes the switch look more colorful;I bought the all gray Switch.

Very Satisfied.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendArrived at the promised date and in mint condition. Very satisfied. My 12 years son loves It. The only thing I don’t like is that I can’t use them when I put the Joy-cons in the grip.

I am all for protection
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAnything to protect the Nintendo switch from the hands of a 7yr old who can't sit still! However, I'm not certain about the ability to protect the joy cons.

Like it
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAdds some much appreciated grip to the Joy-Con controllers. My only annoyance is that the controllers become a little harder to detach with these installed.

Fine
|Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendI don’t think theyre necessary. If you put your joycons at risk, then you should get them.

Protects joycons but bad fit
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThey protect your joycons fairly well but they do have an awkward fit. I prefer using the switch without them but don't want to leave my grubby fingerprints and Cheeto dust on the controller.

Good product
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe PDP armor guard for the Nintendo Switch Joy-con is comfortable to use and very useful since it allows to improve the grip of the Joy-con at the same time that it protects them from damage.

Not bad for the price
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendthese are the hard plastic guards, I got black and red. Since purchasing I've also gotten the silicone soft guards which I prefer more, but these are good also.

They do the job!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendWe purchased these covers to help with grip and hopefully reduce the chance of our kiddos dropping the joycons. They do the job they were intended to do. :)
