Everything about this game is great. The art, the story, the combat, its all there and this really is just a fantastic game.

Tons more content compared to the original, and the steelbook was a definite plus!

With all the changes they've made to Persona 5 in Persona 5 Royal, they have made an excellent game even better -- if that's even possible. I'm glad I purchased the steelbook edition. It looks great on my shelf and as an art piece. I only wish I was able to get the Phantom Thieves edition before it sold out. Oh well. I don't want to forget the fact that Persona 5 Royal includes all the DLC from the first edition of the game for free! One of the best games you can buy for the PS4.

I'm glad I skipped out on the Persona 5 base game and decided to wait a couple years for P5 Royal. Atlus managed to make an amazing JRPG game even BETTER! While Persona 5 was made for the PS3 and was later ported for the PS4, Royal is made for the PS4 and has updated graphics to an already-aesthetic game. Royal improves the quality of day-to-day life in the life simulator section and updated new mechanics in the dungeon crawling section to make the game flow better. If you never bought P5, then the Royal edition is worth every penny. However, if you have P5 and want to buy P5 Royal for new story content, *YOU NEED TO MAX CERTAIN CONFIDANTS TO UNLOCK THE 3RD SEMESTER*! Despite the game's conditional terms to unlock new story content, I firmly believe this game is worth its price tag. Given the quarantine situation, the day-to-day life simulator gives players a sense of control and time management; in other words, it's a great game if you're stuck at home and need a sense of routine - with a dash of escapism.

It really does not get much better than this for JRPG fans. Do yourself a favor and play this game if you haven’t already. It may not be worth the price for some who have already beaten regular P5, but The Royal is an interesting take on extra content. They seem to have added a decent amount and what is neat is some of it is present immediately.

Saw a random video of this game on youtube and decided I wanted to give it a try since it looked like an anime and I usually love JRPGS. This game is so good! I cannot recommend it enough. I spent an entire summer earning the platinum for this game and finally finished it after 210 hours. One of the best games of all time.

This is a very high quality game. An excellent RPG, highly recommmend especially if you haven't played the original Persona 5 game. This game has audio in both Japanese and English as well as English subtitles if you prefer one language to the other. Of note, this game can get VERY LONG. Can get up to 80-100 hours on your first playthrough, especially if you take the time to read the dialogue and explore the world.

This is a must play game. If your picky about anime, don’t worry that’s just the style of the game, I’m not a huge fan of anime, but this game became my automatic favorite game of all time, you’ll never play any other game with such a powerful, deep message. I’m glad I picked up Persona 5 Royal, and I’m sure you won’t regret it too.

Game of the year for me. I put around 100 hours in this game and never got bored once.

Persona 5 is a high water mark for JRPGs on the Playstation 4, combining an extensive and well made combat system with an engaging social interaction subgame. The Royal version takes all the good from the original game and adds new characters, mechanics. and music to one of the all time great soundtracks, easily enough to justify repurchasing the game if you've already played it, and a steal for first timers.

Great storyline, gameplay, music, art style and everything in between super recommendation

Even tho it's the same story but with a few new extra scenes theres loads of fun in this game. Such as the mini games that can be played like darts & billiards (which is in a new location.) also play tycoon (which is in the new Thieves Den.) Plus for the trophy hunters out there, this game has easy trophies! in my opinion at least. So do I recommend this game, Yes! Play for your self and see what you think.

It’s a great turn based rpg with so much to do. It’s a very long 100+ hour game but it’s very chill since it plays like an anime title. I love the style and the music over all. Something about this title draws u in for more and more everytime. There’s post game content the original version doesn’t include as well.

Like most recent Persona games, this is a "definitive edition" of Persona 5, with lots of additional content and characters. It's still more Persona, so if you don't like the core concepts or gameplay loops, this likely won't persuade you. But if you want more Persona with some story and character alterations, or if you want to dip your toes into the franchise, this is the one to get.
