Truthfully, I never finished the original release. Got around ~70 hours in to it, and just never got around to completing it. Decided to pick up P5R, and I’m glad I did. There are enough subtle differences to warrant releasing a “new” game in my opinion. If you liked Persona 5, this is a no brainer.

The original Persona 5 was already an outstanding game, but Persona 5 Royal takes what was already there and cranks it up to an eleven. This new version makes very subtle refinements to the former game that changes the fore frustrating mechanics, and overall makes the game much more meaningful to play.

How can I begin to explain this masterpiece of a game? Well starting off if you have played persona 5 you can still play this one. It has brand new reworked palaces. And it has new gameplay features including the grappling hook. But in all honestly if you love jrpgs you will definitely love this one!

I'm not much into JRPGs, but this game was fun. It takes a while for you to completely understand all the mechanics and get into the game, but once you do it flows. The story line is a bit weird, but the art style and social interactions are fun. I can see why this game has a huge following.

In 30 years of gaming, the persona series is one of my all time favorites. Persona 5 lives up to the usual standard, and Royal builds on everything that made vanilla Persona great. Pick this up over vanilla Persona 5, given the choice. My favorite game this generation, BY FAR

One of the best JRPGs I’ve ever played. It’s long and requires commitment, but the payoff is something few games can pull off on a scale like this. Fun, flashy, and full of content!

This is my first go-around with the Persona series, but this is just really living up to all of the praise and hype, even next to Final Fantasy VII Remake. I can understand not wanting to pay full price if you already have Persona 5, but if you don't, this IS the version to get!

This game quickly took over my top spot for best game I’ve ever played. My top game before this was Final Fantasy 6, so it’s not about the graphics for me, the story and the presentation for this game Are amazing, top production values, nothing was left out.

Pretty nice story and characters. It gives you some things to think about relative to yourself/the world as a whole. That's all I ask for from a game: a couple new thoughts to digest. Atlas did a good job. The reception is well deserved.

Persona 5 was already a spectacular game at launch, and Persona 5 Royal adds on so many new things to explore and try, somehow improving on an already great game! Definitely recommend for players who have and haven't played the original Persona 5.

if you played the original version ROYAL makes soo many great improvements i also enjoyed the addition of the 3rd semester and new characters . this is a great JRPG the characters are amazing and you grow to love them all the game play is so much fun to.

Persona is one of the really good JRPG series. With great characters development. The gameplay is similar to that of pokemon where you catch new monsters, with school/social life sim. Overall it's a solid JRPG and one of the best in the series.

With more expansions and content to explore, is always a given for these persona titles. While it's a huge amount of hours to commit and strategize among social links. It's worth the buy, the new content sheds its light once the start of the game and it's amazing.

I can't really express into words on how good this game is, every single second of this game is filled to the brim with detail, a cast of wonderful characters, and fleshed out combat, if your looking for a 100+ hour expirence during quarantine this is your game.

Haven't gotten to the new end stuff of the game yet, but the improvements to the original are welcome. If you were a fan of the original, or like Persona style games, then this is right up your alley.

Persona 5 was an amazing game that lasted for hours (105 for me). Persona 5 Royal is even more of it with newly added characters, cutscenes, dialogue options, and even more time to bond with the people you already fell in love with. Can’t wait to platinum this!

Persona 5 Royal is truly one of the best RPG games! This game lacks in no area! Great plot, great graphics, great characters! I've been playing the Persona series since P3 and I really love this series! You will not regret purchasing this game and playing it!!!

game like original p5 but more of stuff inside and new attractive girl in skirt wish main boy could be attractive in skirt but game doesnt have option but still fun you do all kinds of stuff like fight and work but skirt is not one of them so keep mindful

It's a fantastic update to the original Persona 5. It doesn't arbitrarily waste days as often as the original did, giving you more time to focus on Confidants (this games version of Social Links), leveling up your social stats, visiting the Mementos dungeon for grinding, and more. The new additions and gameplay changes are good to. Your guns have less ammo during individual fights, but they restock between each one so you can make greater use of them. You have two new Confidants and the form of Kasumi and Dr. Miruki, and they're both enjoyable characters. And there are more that I haven't mentioned. This gets a hearty recommendation from me. Pick it up, even if you've played the original Persona 5.

Probably one of the best rpg of all time. If you’ve played this yet, you have to get it. If you’ve played the standard Persona 5, you have got to play this. If you have played P5R, you have got to play it again. It’s that good.
