Persona 5 was an amazing game when it first came out. Persona 5 Royal takes the original game and adds a ton of content to it. There are new relationships to form, more dungeons and monsters, and added story content. This is a complete version of the game so it is a must buy if you are a fan of the Person series. You can easily put in over 100 hours in the game and you can play New Game+ with your saved data after beating the game.

So much better than the original wirh more storylibss and more opportunities to progress intuitively. Nice job!

The juiced up rerelease of the 2017 RPG hit, Persona 5 Royal refines the highly-praised experience with a bevy of new features, and some retooled returning ones. A new Thieves Den allows players to spend points on artwork, music, and customize their lair, where the main cast will appear frequently to comment on your setup. The dungeons have been slightly reworked, which will add some new surprises for any returning players, and an entirely new dungeon hidden within the game's true ending path will surely be a welcome treat to fans and newcomers alike. The soundtrack sees the return of already legendary tracks "Last Surprise" and "Life will change", along with new battle tracks like "Take over" and some reworked tracks for specific areas of the game. If you need something to sink time into, especially during the (at the time of this writing) ongoing crisis, you can't go wrong with the adventures of the Phantom Thieves of Heart.

There is no one I would not recommend this game to. This is a fantastic story well laid out with wonderful music and amazing gameplay. I spent 122 hours in this game and I’m playing a game plus now. Not once have I been bored.

Excellent game! I have never played a JROG before and figured I'd give it a try seeing how much praise it gets. Enjoyed every minute spent playing this one until the end.

Played the original Persona 5 back a few months ago knowing nothing about the series, ended up becoming one of my favorite games. Persona 5 Royal has only proven to me that even something amazing can be improved. Thinking of this as a standalone game and disregarding the original, this game is long, and has tons of content that doesn't feel forced, gameplay is turn-based which might turn some away from the game understandingly, and the story, which is arguably the biggest strength the game has, is done through dialogue and worldbuilding masterfully. Only downside I could think of is this SEEMINGLY not being canon as the upcoming sequel for these characters is shown to come after the events of the original persona 5 and not this version which has an alternate story

Persona 5 Royal is what Persona 5 is and has been praised for in the past years but more, offering new memorable characters that fit perfectly into a story that was already full of them, additional features, and fixes on issues that the original had, making things like the once criticized and dreaded in-game Mementos something you look forward to instead. The original was already a must play and a huge hit for a reason, it's characters and world is one you'd want to stay with forever. Even if you already gave the original a try Royal is worthy excuse for a revisit, and if you never tried either Persona 5 Royal is accesable enough to be something I can reccomend to just about anyone and enjoyable whether you never touched a Persona game in your life or are a long time fan.

I love the characters, palaces and the music in the game.

I have NEVER picked up any Persona game before, and after reading the views and looking at some gameplay, I decided to buy it during black friday when it was on sale. I instantly got HOOKED on the game, the characters all have their own unique personality and the story so far has been interesting and wants me to keep going (I'm relatively early in the game, only completed the first palace). There's so much to explore/do outside the time you are completing palaces, and while it is a lot to take in at first, it gives the game a lot of complexity as the goal is not only "defeat the dungeon, but also how you interact with others and build skills. You are given a time limit on completing palaces, and each day you're only given a limited amount of time, so spend time wisely! Overall I love this games!!

Amazing game all around. First the game looks good and the animations are so stylish you can't help but get excited. Music is amazing and I find myself humming to the music quite often. I normally don't care much about music in video games but this sound track is just too good. Anyways without making this too long the gameplay is really good and ton of side stuff to do. The inclusion of a new character is great and replaying this game again was made even better because this isn't just the old game with added content. They change the core battle gameplay enought that it felt almost like a new game.

I'm only 25 hours in, but this game is already fantastic. The story, gameplay, and music all come together to make a truely memorable experience.

Persona 5 Royal is a great JRPG with a mature storyline. Royal adds another 20 hours of gameplay to an already 100 Hour + experience, along with quality of life improvements with the gameplay. Your now free to explore the city at night. Strong recommend to veterans & newbies.

Originally I planned to wait a bit before buying this game, after playing the original a few years back several times. But I can say without a doubt that this Remake was worth it! So many new additions have been added on to this title, truly making it a definitive masterpiece.

I used to love RPG (Role Playing Games) when i was younger... it started with Final Fantasy III (VI in Japan) on the Super Nintendo. Japanese RPGs were really popular in the late 90's all the way to around the late 2000's. During that time period, there were four main role playing games series that were on the forefront of Japanese role playing. Those were Final Fantasy, The Tales Series, Dragon Quest, and Persona. Out of the four, the Persona series had the least exposure here in the states. It had it's cult following and made more of a splash in the past decade. I myself had never played a Persona game before this one. I was into the other three series more. When I heard that the PS4 was getting, I thought it would be time I finally saw what the Persona series had to offer. In a nutshell, the game is great! I will try and break it down but keep it brief. Gameplay: 10/10 - This is a more traditional turn based RPG. What i mean by turn base is that your party controlled characters and the "enemies" that you encounter take turns taking actions during all enemy encounters. The battles are paced well, the controls are are tight and responsive. As you progress through the story, there many side quests to partake in. These side quests will sometimes help you gain experience for your character. The best part of the game is that you never feel like you're level grinding for the sake of getting stronger. As you move through the story and do the side quests, you will level up. Of course if you want to level up, by all means, it's up to your style of gameplay. Graphics: 10/10 - The game itself has a completely anime inspired look to it. The characters and enemies are all well drawn, and the environments make you feel like you're in Japan. Sound: 10/10 - The whole soundtrack has a nice Jazz'y feeling to it. It's not your typical sounding Japanese RPG. It definitely has the most engaging battle theme. You can replay the game after you beat it. The best part is, you get to keep your current level, so in essence, you can tear through the game. This is mostly for the side quests... to complete different ones to see different aspects of the story. It's a nice touch. The characters are charming and memorable. The story makes you want to keep playing until you see the end credits. At the end of the day, what we want from the game is entertainment, and this game provides it in spades. When I finally beat the game, I felt a sense of accomplishment. I also felt a somber feeling... but like great tv shows and books, we move on. I now patiently wait for Persona 6... I'm just hoping it's release before 2020.

I ordered P5R after purchasing a Playstation 4 from Best Buy. I had started Persona 5 a long time ago, but never got to finish it. I’m so excited to play it now with all these extra features in the game! Best Buy delivered it quickly at a great price.

I bought this on sale and I put $200 hours into it. Way better than the original Persona 5!

its do good i bought it 3 times sort of, got persona 5 when it came out, bought royal when it came out and bought it again for daughters close friend birthday. If you never played a persona series game this is just as good of a starting place.

When Persona 5 was released back in 2016 I bought it immediately and it became one of my favorite games of all time. Now they released royal and added so much new content it makes it 100% worth it. If you are on the fence go for it, it's an amazing story and the characters are the best best part. The "censorship" they did was purely business and only changed two little scenes that showed stereotypical gay men and changed it to better appeal to western audience's. I love this game and atlas made it so much better now with Royal

This is by far the best RPG game that I have played of this generation of consoles (ps4,xbox one). And the adding of another story to the original game, makes this one a ps greatest hits for sure, or should I say a Royal Hit!
