For those who have never played a Persona game before, think Pokemon, except with demons, which they call Personae in this game. Except that doesn't do the Persona 5 justice on it's own, since this game is a lot darker and harder than any Pokemon game you'll ever play. What I like the most about this game is its STYLE. The visuals are great, the music is great, and the characters are very likable. Not only that, but battles happen quickly now. It's a turn based RPG, but in battle, each button is assigned to a certain action, so you don't have to scroll through menus to do what you want. It makes battles happen quickly, which is nice since you'll be fighting lots of enemies in dungeons. The game also has a social aspect to it. You befriend certain characters, and what's cool is that they give you little perks when you go exploring dungeons. Overall, I am very satisfied with this game. It's a huge improvement over Persona 4, and it's one of the better RPGs to come out recently, since it puts you in control of all the action.

I usually don't like these sort of games but this game is so much fun. I loved the social aspect of it.

I don’t usually play turn based RPG’s or videos games with a heavy Japanese influence. This game however, has such a strong story that I had to play all the way through. If you have a Pokémon stadium sized hole in your heart the combat system will fill it. And if you ever wanted to simulate being a mysterious but well liked Japanese student you get to do that too! It seems like it doesn’t make sense but I promise it does.

I've played JRPG's in past, growing up. I've heard about the Persona series awhile back, but never given them a chance. However, this particular one was on sale, so why not start now? Gotta say I made the right choice, as it's one of the most unique JRPG's that's currently out right now. If you're a fan of JRPG's and of the Shin Megami Tensei franchis by ATLUS, then Persona 5 is definitely for you.

I have not finished the game yet as there are 100+ hours of gameplay based on other reviews, but it's not like I want to finish the game either. The settings and backgrounds are so detailed; it is amazing how down-to-the bones the game designers paid attention. Character design is also A1. Grab the game as soon as you can, you will not be disappointed with the latest masterpiece of the Persona series!

Words cannot describe how I feel about this game, other than it's the best PS4 game I have ever played. Part of it has to do because Pokemon was a HUGE part of my life growing up and still is. This game has certain similarities with Pokemon. You capture different Personas, train them, fuse them together to make them stronger. I've never played any of the other persona game but now I definitely will!

If you like turned based jrpgs, this is a no brainer. This game is fantastic, with a story that will easily take you 100 hours (I platinumed the game at well over 200 hours). The soundtrack and art style are amazing as well. I can not recommend the game enough.

Even if you're not a fan of turn based combat (I'm not) or the tired Japanese high school students save the world type story, there's enough in Persona 5 to keep a person interested for a long time (nearly 100 hours if How Long To Beat can be believed). The soundtrack is incredible at all times with some seriously funky jams and the art style is amazing. Every single piece of screen real estate has something interesting and visually stimulating (the menus especially) and everything jumps out at you screaming for attention with lovingly detailed zany comic book/manga style graphics and cartoony sound effects. The high school life simulator portions can get a bit boring, but the characters are very interesting and honestly I'd say it's worth playing for the music, visuals and animations alone. Where else are you going to break into a castle and fight a very bored looking demon floating around on a toilet?

Very enjoyable, a break from the normal cookie cutter style of other games

I can't help but notice that the games starts off very slow, comparing to it's previous titles, and also that they changed Igor's voice actor and style, which wouldn't affect you if you haven't played the previous installments. But still, its great and one of its kind, a rarity in this age. The soundtrack and characters have a lot of "character" to it which is awesome!

It's a jrpg what's not to like definitely a must buy for fans of persona

This is hands down one of my favorite games. The story is great, the gameplay seems simple but is satisfyingly complex. It’s literally one of the only game soundtracks I’ll listen to in free time. Definitely pick this up.

Amazing story, characters, art direction, gameplay and music

This game is incredible. It's got a compelling story and has so many wonderful characters that I love a whole lot. And the ones I hate, I love to hate. It's so well written and so refreshing. I've clocked about 65 hours in it so far and am still going strong in the story. This is probably my favorite Persona/Shin Megami Tensei game. Amazing.

This game is one of the best JRPGs in years. The story is great and so is the gameplay. This game will offer around 80 hours of pure fun. If you like JRPGs this game is a must buy. Best JRPG in the last 10 years.

When I first saw this game, I was confused as to how it was getting all these 9 and 10 scores from reviewers online, as the gameplay I had seen was pretty simple and uninteresting. But in the nearly 50 hours I've been playing it (about half way through the game), I can definitely confirm that it is indeed a game that deserves a 93 on Metacritic. It's got possibly the best soundtrack of any game I've played, as well as a great story and fun gameplay. The turn based combat can get a little dry in longer play sessions, but the overall flashiness and colorfulness of it keeps you watching. If anyone's not sure on whether or not to pick it up, I'd say it's definitely worth giving a chance.
