This Philips 3200 series machine seems cool. Coffee, scratch that, espresso maker - check. Digital interface that's easy to use - check. No gratuities duplication of features with an app or ones only accessible with an app - also check. From the get go, this sleek looking machine is looking good. Modern looks and features while still being low key and straight forward.
After unboxing, and setting the 21lb coffee machine on the table, your eye is immediately drawn to a couple major things. The first being the large button interface on the front showing there's essentially 6 "drinks" the machine makes, one being just a plain cup of hot water. The second being the "LatteGo" removable container where you'd add milk. There's no steam wand, but that's fine because the machine will steam the milk in the LatteGo for you then dispense it into your cup. The spout that pours the coffee/milk/water into your cup can be raised or lowered. A nice touch so you're not forced to use a specific size cup with the machine, though I pretty much always use the same size at home for everything but espressos when friends are visiting.
Getting a brew going is pretty straightforward. Pull out the cleverly hidden water tank from the front right and fill with water. Add beans in the bin under the top cover. Turn on and let it go through heating up water and a short cleaning cycle. On first run, you'd need something to catch excess water that it forces through the dispenser. On further runs it still cycles some water, just not as much. At this point, you're good to go. The are buttons to tweak grind strength and flavor strength. Then you can move forward with making a coffee or espresso. For each, you'd hit the button for your desired drink then press play to actually "run" the program. Setting up the LatteGo is similarly straightforward. After removinng the sticker, including a bottom one that's remarkably like the ones that block batteries (in this case, it blocks the LatteGo milk pickup tube), do a rinse then reasssemble the cup. To make a latte, you'd add milk, hit the button, and it will steam/froth the milk, dispense, then top up with espresso.
Quality of coffee is ok. Definitely better than the machine we've got in the office breakroom, but not so good that you're actively skipping coffee runs at your favorite shop. And while it is adjustable for cup height, it may be problematic using this as kettle replacement for a travel mug, they're just a bit too tall. And speaking of water, I noticed that I seem to have to refill this (and empty out the drip tray) as often as we do the tea kettle despite the drinks generally being lower volume and having more content (beans and milk). So while it makes better coffee than the breakroom machine, it may be more annoying to use in the office environment. That said, this really shines if you're a latte drinker. The steamed milk is perfection and you don't miss using a wand to do it yourself (unless you're into latte art).

This machine is an upgrade for me. I really liked the model a few years ago so I was quite curious to see the new and improved version. I like it! They fixed all of the things I complained about before. The hopper for the beans now has a rubber gasket which will hopefully keep the beans fresher. The capacity seems smaller than in the past, but I think the goal is to protect freshness. I love that both the bean hopper and the water tank are translucent so it is simple to see if either one needs to be refilled, or if the beans are stuck. To change the coarseness of the grind, there is now a knob instead of needing a tool. Up front, the controls are more intuitive. Power is on the left, followed by drink type, customization such as strength and quantity, and finally start/stop on the right. To make a drink, it is a simple process of reading left to right. I love the simple controls to increase strength, volume of the drink, and volume of milk. This gives a huge amount of freedom for catering to individual tastes.
Next up, the types of drinks have expanded from my older model. I love the ability to make coffee and iced coffee plus milk drinks such as cappuccino, lattes, and macchiatos. That is where the customizing really comes into play. The milk steamer is great except that I wish the spout was slightly closer to the machine. The first time I used it, steamed milk landed on the drip tray and counter instead of the cup. Placement takes some practice to be in the right spot to fit on the tray, and catch both milk and coffee. Otherwise, using and cleaning the steamer is unbelievably easy. It is all dishwasher safe and they designed it in a way that any area that comes in contact with milk is easily accessible for cleaning. I am concerned that the design might wear out over time, but it works perfectly right now.
When it comes to the quality of the drinks, I am happy. Taste is excellent, but I purposely use a premium bean. At least in the past, it was extremely important that the beans are not oily. Otherwise, the oil made the grounds stick to everything. I use a bean that is highly recommended on the internet and costs about $20 per 2.2 lb/1 kg bag. Phillips has also created a new mail order service for beans from independent roasters, and they include a coupon for the first bag to be free. I have not been able to try that out yet. There is so much customization that it would be difficult to not be happy. So far, I have been happy with the default settings of the espresso, cappuccino, and latte. The end product looks like it was just served to me at a nice coffee shop. The recipe for the iced coffee is going to take some time to figure out the proper ratio of ice to coffee.
I don’t have much to complain about other than the milk steamer spout needing to be closer to the machine. It’s not a big deal and I quickly overcame that challenge. I would definitely recommend the machine, especially with the new coffee and iced coffee options. It makes the machine even more versatile.

The machine was easy to assemble and set up, once I figured out the instructions. The look and size of this espresso machine will fit nicely in just about any kitchen. The machine measures in at 9½ inches wide, depth is about 17 inches and stands 15½ inches tall. I have found this easily fits on my counter without taking up a lot of space compared to other espresso machines.
The control panel is easy to navigate and I was brewing coffee drinks in no time. The control panel has 6 buttons to choose from: espresso, coffee, iced coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato and hot water. There are even pictures of what kind of cup to use for each drink on the panel. There are also buttons for you to select your brew strength, the amount of coffee to brew and the amount of foam. You do have the option to use pre-ground coffee if you prefer.
The design of this machine makes it easy to brew your own coffee. Just fill the machine with coffee beans, put milk in the LatteGo container, push a few buttons to select the size, brew strength and foam level and viola, you become your own barista. You have the option to use whole beans or pre-ground coffee. I have read in some machines it states not to use flavored coffee beans in your grinder, so I choose not to with this one. You can always use flavored creamer to spice it up or just be creative.
Clean up was easy for me, simply remove the drip tray, take out the grounds container and dump the grounds in the garbage or compost and hand wash and dry everything before putting it back together. The LatteGo container is easy to clean and you can even put it in the fridge for the next time you want to use it in your coffee.
I found the User Manual a bit difficult to navigate. The “Before Use” section is just pictures and if you want further information you will need to go to a specific chapter. As you get further in the manual, certain spots will state “see figure”. It took a few minutes for me to find that all the figures it was referring to were at the back of the book. Once I figured out the manual, this machine was easy to use and it makes really good coffee. I have found that I will no longer have a need to go to the coffee shop and this has the potential to save money in the long run.

The Philips 3200 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with LatteGo and Iced Coffee works very well and would be a great addition to any kitchen or office break room. Mine was the black plastic model that would fit in anywhere from a style perspective, and I felt that it was a little less wide than other machine of its type that I have used. It is designed to make coffee brewing easy and convenient for anyone using it, with controls on the front that are intuitive and that really make a difference. One section of controls is called 'My Coffee Choice' and allows you to determine the strength of your beverage, the quantity of your beverage, and the quantity of milk froth that you want. The other controls allow you to select from espresso, coffee, iced coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, and of course hot water. There are buttons for calcium deposit cleaning and Aqua Cleaning. This also comes with the LatteGo system for milk froth. I appreciate that the LatteGo only has 2 parts which were easy to remove and are dishwasher safe. It is fully automatic so once you press the start button, expect a cup of coffee in about 2 to 3 minutes. I do recommend whole beans instead of ground coffee; it will accept both but with the whole bean compartment and aroma system you will have to worry less about mold which can happen with any ground coffee compartment. I love that the grinders for the whole beans are ceramic which should produce quality grinding results for a long time. I personally used the machine for lattes and for espresso. The lattes were perfect after playing around with the froth volume. The espresso seemed a little weak even with the double shot, but I'm still working on making that better. Given the latter, I'm confident I can tweak enough settings to get the espresso right. This is a premium device with a price that seems to be in the middle of the price range for automatic espresso makers. I found it to be easy to use, easy to maintain, and produces a quality beverage. Just don't forget to work with the settings to find the taste and strength that you like. I would recommend the Philips 3200 for any coffee use.

I have used a lot of coffee makers, expresso makers and even combos of each and each had their own intricacies and all sorts of buttons. This machine is first off very intelligent, I actually used this for an entire day, switching up different coffee blends, trying out each selection, iced coffee, expresso and Cappuccino and Latte Macchiat. This machine is like having your own private Starbucks in your kitchen and it has all the fancy features with some cool intelligent buttons to make it easier to figure out how to make these concoctions. There is even an easy to use milk frother which looks complicated however it is easy to use and also detaches in two pieces so you can clean it in the dishwasher. The thing about Phillips products, they tend to make products that make life easier, not harder. The one issue I saw with this machine, is where to put it? It barely fit on my counter and it didnt fit under my cabinets so it sort of sticks out and is the focal point in my kitchen. I had to eventually put this away in a cabinet it was so large and bulky. The other issue is the price, and not sure I would pay this much money for a fancy all in one coffee maker which, yes, its smart, but do you need this many features?

The Phillips 3200 series is an amazing machine. Super easy to setup, use and clean. There wasnt much to install just the latte go cup, where you place the coffee and installing the water filter. I followed the manual very easy to understand. Making whatever type of coffee drink, latte or Macchiato its very easy to operate. Just put the beans on top. Fill up with water and then adjust your to your liking like the flavor strength and how hot you want it. Finally select which drink to make. If doing a latte or macchiato fill the latte go cup with the necessary milk. You can do cold brew too . Which i will be doing soon now that its getting warming i like cold coffe drinks. I thought making a latte macchiato would be complicated becuase its done in layers , you have the latte, espresso and the milk part. the Phillips 3200 series does it all automatically in the right order. like i said before just adjusting how strong and how hot add the milk to the right line on the latte go cup ,then you press the macchiato button . It didn't take long to make . I do love that you can use whole coffee beans dont need to grind them. So basically go to your favorite coffee shop get a bag of whole bean coffee and bring it home. Its much easier because before the would ask how fine they had to grind the beans that sometimes took a long time. Easy to take apart and clean the tray and cup. Its a pricey product but it will more than pay for itself and save you time and money. I call it a necessary investment lol

This machine while expensive has been one of the easiest to use expresso machines I have ever had, while still maintaining a decent quality coffee product. Obviously quality is in part the beans/coffee used but the brew process can affect the flavor a lot, and I have been pleasantly surprised by what I have managed to get out of this machine with very little fuss. One word of note I would say is don’t use your best coffee in the machine at first as you need to brew about 10 cups of espresso or coffee before the machine has fully adjusted itself. But after that adjustment period the coffee I have gotten has been good with essentially no adjustments or tinkering. I would say if you’re looking to get away from the Pod based machines, but are overwhelmed by the standard espresso machine with the whole girding and tamping process this is a very good option. You don’t even need to know how to foam milk as the machine will do it for you, and that also works great. Overall I’ve been very happy with the experience.

This is my first espresso machine that comes with a specific setting for iced espresso, which was really exciting to me, as this is not a common feature I see on at-home espresso machines like this. The compact set up of the machine also appealed to me as espresso machines tend to take up a lot of counter space, so I was intrigued by this product. It is a bit of learning curve to set this up and running, but if you’ve had an espresso machine before, it’s very similar to other at-home espresso machines. This makes it easier to set up and get started using. I love how it allows you to grind your own beans, as it gives you more freedom with which coffees you can buy and utilize. Although it appears to be a large machine, it is actually very compact and does not take up too much space on a counter. The iced espresso option works perfectly and makes a decadent cup of iced coffee, which I really appreciate as a frequent iced coffee drinker. So far it is a strong performer and I’ve been enjoying the quality of the product.

The Phillips 3200 has a great design and style. You can tell engineers spent some time with the design. All of the buttons are on the front. They are easy to read and well laid out. They are also straight forward. It's well made and I didn't find any of it to feel cheaply made. The water reservoir is made with thick walls and the water filter is the best I've seen so far. The reservoir is easy to fill and access from the front. Inserting the filter was straight forward.
On the top is the coffee bean bin and the port for using pre-ground coffee. I filled the coffee bean bin, selected setting using the front buttons, and it ground the beans without any issues. Also, it's easy to see when you need to refill the bin. Regarding the pre-ground coffee port, it would be nice if you could put more than one scoop into it, but as it is, you can only put in one scoop from the included scoop.
The latte go milk bin is easy to put on and remove. The bin itself doesn't heat up, so if you end up having some milk left in the bin after you make your drink, you can just remove the bin and place it into the fridge. It's simple and quick to clean as well.
There are plenty of modes to choose from such as expresso, coffee, iced coffee, cappuccino latte macchiato, hot water, etc. Next to those are the settings buttons. Coffee strength, drink quantity, milk quantity, temp, etc. All of the buttons on the control panel are easy to see and they have indicator lights as well.
The taste of the expresso, coffee, and cappuccino is excellent. Phillips had made it simple to set the settings you wish to have. The only recommendation I would have for Phillips would be the make it so that you don't have to press as hard on the buttons on the control panel. That's a very minor thing and I don't have a problem with the buttons activating when I press them, but it would be nicer of you could use less pressure when selecting them. I would recommend considering the Phillips 3200 for anyone looking to get an easy to use expresso/coffee machine.

As a coffee lover I have always been on the hunt for a perfect cup to compliment my morning routines. While this machine is not that, it is still a wonderful machine that I highly recommend.
Out of the box this machine is very easy to set up and the instructions are fairly straight forward. Philips kindly points out that while your machine is new, each machine has had beans run through it as a QC check. After washing the machine and set up, Philips wants you to set up the water purifier which to me is the best part of this machine. As most coffee machines need to be descaled this one has a purifier that lasts for roughly 5,000 cups of coffee. I think this is an exceptional design feature and not only will pro long the lifespan of the machine but enhance the ease of use that this machine offers. The other nice benefits of this machine is it holds roughly 1 LB of beans in the hopper and it will grind it as needed. They also included a cut out for ground beans so if you prefer to grind them yourself you can do so. While the machine is fairly straight forwad it is not dialed in properly to start making coffee. It requires some tweaking between how much beans to let into the hopper as well as coffee strength (which to be fair varies by user). It took a few minutes to make sure the machine was providing enough beans to water ratio so the coffee would come out darker vs more clear. After that the coffee was delicious. This machine also makes lattes which is fairly easy to set up with the instructions and easy to use with the press of a button. I do not think this is the perfect coffee machine but it is close. I do highly recommend it.

First thing's first - if you haven't had an experience with a machine like this at home, read the directions, read them again, and then read them again - otherwise you'll be confused.
Having had an espresso machine from another brand in the past (one that was a bit intimidating to me to be 100% honest), I thought I knew what I was doing, but still ended up hitting the documentation. Once I followed the instructions, I was going in the right direction.
Another hopefully helpful hint - before using it the first time, disassemble and wash anything you can with soap and water. I failed to do this and the first couple of cups had a plastic-like taste to them. NOTE: This is not a failure or fault of the device, it's MY FAULT.
Once you get everything figured out it's like having a barista at home and you can save all kinds of bucks over going to your local establishment just by making your own at home. Tastes great, great consistency, and helps keep me caffeinated all day long :-)
AGAIN - do yourself a huge favor - READ the directions! You'll be happy you did!

Not sure what more we could ask for! My husband and I switched from a Nespresso to this machine and have loved every second of it. I was worried in the beginning because nespresso makes such standardized drinks but your options are more limited but i have not looked back since. It takes a bit longer to heat up but it does so much more. Each shot of espresso is amazing and the fact that we dont need to buy pods anymore is a win win win.

One month in and it is wonderful. We do at least one cappuccino every morning and sometime an expresso. Love the machine, froths the milk perfect every time. Using whole milk only and clean every time we use the frother. I believe a lot depends on the coffee bean, we are using a stronger bean it is awesome
