Don’t hesitate to buy it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don’t regret spending the money at all. Great coffee, every single day. It has been easy to maintain and very cost effective, too. I’m not spending ANY money on Starbucks or Dunkin. It really does taste the same or better than what I could get there.

Delicious coffee drinks, fast, easy-to-use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips 3200 Series Espresso Machine with LatteGo & Iced Coffee is my first fully automatic espresso machine, having previously only used semi-automatic espresso makers that require you to steam your own milk for lattes and cappuccinos. In addition to an integrated bean hopper, grinder, and wand-less automatic milk steamer (LatteGo), this machine has several one-touch keys for making five different café style drinks: espresso shots, coffee, cappuccino, latte macchiato, and iced coffee. It can also dispense hot water for tea. The machine is compact and made with an entirely plastic housing save for the stainless steel bezel around the control panel, drip tray grill cover, and coffee spouts. I like that the water tank is made from a translucent flexible plastic, rather than rigid, clear acrylic which I find prone to scratches and cracking. The water tank has a capacity of around 8 cups (1L) and can be fitted with an AquaClean water filter to remove sediments from hard tap water. A starter filter is included and needs to be replaced after filtering 95 liters (25 Gal) of water; the reminder light flashes orange when it’s time to do so. A water hardness test strip is also included, and you can change a setting on the machine based on its result. In addition to selecting your beverage type, you can customize the aroma/strength of the drink, its volume, and amount of milk to low, medium, or high. Note that milk will not be dispensed for espresso, coffee, iced coffee, nor hot water selections. The machine will remember the strength and quantity options last used for each type of drink, and the touch panel controls are clearly labeled and illuminate with LEDs to mark your selections. For espresso, coffee, and iced coffee you can select single or double quantities, and the machine will run through the brew cycle twice. You can make two drinks at once by placing separate glasses under each spout. There are 12 increments for bean grind size from fine to coarse. However, Philips recommends using the default setting (7) for about 1 month before altering it, and you should only make adjustments one notch at a time to prevent damaging the grinding blades, as it must be changed while the machine is grinding beans. This machine is also not compatible with caramelized and flavored coffee beans. By default, drinks are made by grinding the beans in the hopper, however, you can use pre-ground coffee instead by placing one scoop in the small chute in front of the hopper, then press and hold the aroma/strength button for 3 seconds when selecting your drink options. With ground coffee, you won’t be able to select a custom aroma strength, and you have to switch to the grounds mode every time you make a drink. Just be sure to put the grounds in the chute after turning the machine on, otherwise the start-up rinse water will run through your grounds! Once you’ve selected your drink options, just press the start/stop button to create the drink. The whole process takes 1-2 minutes from start to finish. Fair warning though, there is a break-in period with this machine, and the first several drinks may not taste that great. I found it took mine several dozen runs before the drinks improved, but now they taste delicious. When making milk drinks, the steamed milk will always be dispensed first, so ensure that you have filled the LatteGo milk cup to the marked level for your drink prior to pressing start. The coffee spout is height adjustable to reduce splashing and fits espresso shot glasses, mugs, and tumblers 3.5 – 5.75 inches tall. For iced coffee, the coffee is brewed with warm water (125°F/52°C), and you’ll add in your own ice cubes. The brew volume for drinks ranges from 0.75 oz to 2.25 oz (25 - 65mL) for espresso shots, and 3.3 oz to 6.6 oz (100 - 200 mL) for coffee. However, you can also save a custom default amount for each drink type by pressing and holding the quantity setting prior to starting the drink and pressing stop when your desired quantity of coffee and/or milk has been dispensed; this amount is saved to the highest quantity setting for that beverage type. You can set the temperature of your drinks, as well, to normal, high, or max (155, 168, 180°F or 68, 75, 82°C respectively) which will apply to all drinks except hot water which is always dispensed at 180°F. The unit is easy to clean since the drip tray, grounds bin, and LatteGo milk cup are dishwasher-safe, however, the splash guard in front of the grounds container isn’t. If either of the ‘low water’ or ‘empty grounds’ warning lights is on, you will not be able to use the machine until resolved. You’ll be prompted to empty the grounds container after every 12 drinks, which needs to be performed while the machine is on to reset the drink counter. If the grounds are emptied while the machine is off or you remove the drip tray and do not empty the grounds, the drink counter may not be accurate. This machine also has a one-touch descaling mode to remove mineral deposits and should be run when the reminder indicator starts flashing (every 2-3 months). This process takes 30 minutes and Philips requires that you run it with their descaler solution in order to keep your 48-month warranty intact. The other important maintenance step you’ll need to perform is rinsing the brew group weekly and lubricating it with the included grease every 2 months; it’s found behind the panel revealed when the water tank is removed. When not in use, the machine will switch itself off, and you can set the stand-by time to 15, 30 (default), 60, or 180 minutes. Overall, the Philips 3200 Series is easy-to-use and with a few taps lets you make your own café-style drinks at home in minutes. There’s a nice variety of pre-set options, and you can customize and save your favorite settings to get your ideal drink every time. The taste and quality of the drinks may well rival your favorite coffee shop’s, and with whole bean and pre-ground options, there are endless ways to switch up your drinks and craft custom brews, one cup at a time.

Love it!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very user friendly, we love that there is also a place to put coffee that is already ground. The lattes and cappuccinos we have tried so far taste great. I also love the espresso shots. And you can alternate how fine the beans are ground, which will make your coffee stronger or weaker as desired. We are so happy with this!

Easy to use and clean. Produces quality espresso
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love coffee. Drink it every day, normally via a Technivorm drip maker, so I appreciate the finer side of covfefe. I’ve used espresso machines in the past, but never a fully automatic machine. I’ve been using this every day for a week and have some thoughts. Design, misc.: The look of the machine is fine. It’s not stainless, but its black finish (and overall machine) seem to be high-quality, so the plastic doesn’t look plasticky or cheap and looks great on the counter. It’s larger than a normal coffee maker, but compared to nearly all decent espresso machines, it’s pretty compact; the footprint is about the same as a toaster oven turned sideways. It’s manufactured in Romania, surprisingly not made in China, thankfully. I believe Phillips is the OEM for several other automatic brands, so it’s nice to know it wasn’t made by some random knockoff brand in all caps on Amazon. Setting up and first few uses: If you are anything like me, you will start out thinking you know how to work it, but I guarantee you will have to reference it almost immediately. It’s simple once you prime the water filter and fill the hopper, you are suddenly a barista and ready to go. First few drinks were single shot espresso. Then I went to the coffee setting, since I’m coming from a coffee maker. It handles that great, and I find using the “2 cup” setting is fine and works for my 16oz Yeti(ish) cup. Both the Cappuccino and Latte Macchio setting are pretty genius. Well, the frother design is genius. Basically, it hooks into the nozzle and the steam is immediately routed to the bottom of the milk and steams from below. The foamy milk comes out of the side nozzle and dumps into the glass, followed by the espresso. If you’ve ever used a traditional espresso machine steamer, you know using the steaming wand you have to pick the right steam level, use it right, then you have to clean it with a towel (is it reeeally clean?). The canister on this machine snaps apart into 2 pieces which you can toss in the dishwasher. Super easy to use and clean. When you are done and power off, the machine runs a ~3 second stream of water to flush. Just let it fall in the tray, there’s plenty of capacity for water. I believe the hopper holds 12 pucks if that puts it into perspective. Oh, and the grinder works great. It’s no Weber Workshops EG-1 but does the job with its effort-free operation and burr grinder. Daily use and cleaning: It heats up and again dispenses a little water to flush out, then it’s ready to go. Using the mode buttons, the 1-2 cup settings and the strength settings are easy to use as is the machine overall. I know it’s not an exotic hand-crafted machine from Italy or something, but it also doesn’t cost $2,500. The quality I get is perfectly fine and tastes great every time and most importantly is quick and easy to use. Cleaning is really simple, too. You just pull the tray out and the entire drip-tray and used coffee hopper are one piece (well the hopper is removable). The tray is well designed and emptying is simple since the water flows right down to the spout without going everywhere. It’s all you have to do, really, outside of periodic deep-cleaning, which looks easy too. Overall, I can easily recommend it if you are looking for a fully automatic setup. You can, of course, go onto Reddit and find yourself rationalizing a $3,000 machine, but nah, this one is great and you should at least try it. I recommend it since it’s easy to use, low maintenance, and produces quality drinks at a reasonable price. Even you can Make Coffee Great Again!

easy to use, but with some nuances
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Philips 3200 is large but much smaller than you'd expect in person. There is a bit of a learning curve and initial setup required but once you get a hang of the nuances, it's pretty simple to operate. I tested out making a green tea macha latte and it was simple enough, milk frothed out pretty well. It would have been nice if the milk container had marks indicating measuring. Because of this I had to use a measuring cup, which is just more stuff to wash. There is a bit of maintenance required on this. The drip tray is easy to remove and also house's the old grounds. The bin for that is easy to remove from the tray so clean up is quick. Filter setup and descaling is also pretty standard on most makers as well. The more complicated maintenence state is cleaning the "brew group". This involves removing the entire inside mechanism and cleaning it as well as making sure to keep greasing it. A nice feature which would have been nice to have mention in the manual is the system will flush the lines when you go to turn it off. So after you've made your coffee and turned the machine off, it'll push some hot water through the lines so your next coffee is as fresh as can be. It also does this on startup. It will hit the tray but if you'd rather not want to clean the tray as much, keep a discard dish nearby. when using preground, make sure to select preground BEFORE putting the grounds in. The manual says you can dump it and then set it. DON'T. I didn't the first time and when I went to make a coffee, I got a cup of hot water. Open the side door and there's grounds everywhere. Looks like the brew group was set up for beans so the grounds missed and went everywhere. After cleaning up that mess, i set it then poured and had no issues. If you and your household really like fancy drinks and want them with minimal effort, then give this a whirl. If you only occasionally drink coffee, then this may be overkill

Good superauto. Easy to maintain
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very convenient machine, very easy milk frothing/storage/cleaning system. A little bit on a loud side, but most superautos in this price range are. Make sure to read instructions. Let it run through some shots before you decide to adjust the grinder or return the machine- I promise espresso taste gets better.

Love it
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it. Bought it on discount so value seems good. Easy to clean, tastes great, can use any coffee bean i want, servings are small but just brew two servings, so no problem. Wish i could have it steam milk without having to brew cappucino. Been using it for 5 months so far and I would buy again.

Nice Design, a Labor of Love
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hello, I'm Lance, and I'm a coffee addict. How much so? I have 3 machines, a pour-over vessel and a high-end adjustable bean grinder. I was excited to get my hands on a fully automatic coffee/expresso machine for a few reasons. First, it saddens me when I don't have enough time in the morning to make an amazing cup of coffee via the pour-over method. I often will either make Americanos or try to survive with a single espresso. Second, my friends and dates are only amused by my meticulousness so many times before they ask how close the nearest coffee shop is located. And third, it's nice to be able to make several types of beverages relatively quickly, and with a single piece of equipment. Ok, so how is the Philips 3200? It's very nice to look at. Grinder, water vessel (with filter!!) and LatteGo attachment work well together. The LatteGo IS little wonky because it's made up of 3 pieces. But it works well. The buttons on the machine are not immediately clear, but you know, sometimes you should read the manual. You can select from 5 different coffee beverages (and just hot water), some with a single or double serving option. Then there are three other buttons allowing customization of amount of beans, coffee and milk. Very nice. Inside the top, you can deposit fresh beans AND customize the grind OR use pre-ground coffee. Finally, the display lets you know when to change water filters, decalcify, add more water and empty the used grounds. What didn't I like? Cleaning. It's inevitable, but I found cleaning the "Brew Group" mechanism and removing and replacing the grounds container to be less-than-graceful and even frustrating (the Brew Group has grease on certain portions). I also am not yet loving the taste of coffee. It's little watery for my palate. However, the manual suggests running around 50 cycles before adjusting the size of grounds. I did already, but only two notches. Perhaps I'll be more aggressive soon. What did I like? Specialty beverages are quite good. I like the density and crema delivered with the Espresso setting and the Latte Go makes a nice froth for cappuccinos and latte macchiatos. If you've ever tried to work with milk, it takes expertise, so this is a winner. Clean up is otherwise easy. Overall, this is a nice product. Be prepared to tweak it a little. At least you can!

The machine I've been hoping for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant to spend this much money on a "glorified coffee machine," AND I couldn't be more happy. I did a lot of research to settle on this one. My demands: • Push the button, gimme a latte (bf's needs) • No more wasteful pods! • All-in-one bean grinder & milk frother • Accommodates all our different size cups • I can use a hometown roasted bean but only as preground in the bypass (apparently too oily beans cause clogs) I'm graduating from a DeLonghi Nespresso and a Mr. Coffee latte machine. Both were great machines, but neither checked all the boxes of desires. The only 3 downsides: 1. It wastes a LOT of water (I'm glad the catch tray is large enough) 2. I can't just froth milk (for hot chocolate) 3. Customizations are limited to the strength, cup size and amount of froth (would like more steamed milk and less foam) These are very small tradeoffs I can live with. It comes with a 2 year warranty but I got the 2 year Amazon warranty too (don't ask why). I'm interested in the customizations in the upgraded models to see if they overcome my downsides. Not looking forward to the day I have to work through a clog or some other malfunction. I'm using Starbucks beans that seem to be doing the job. I have a preference for a hometown roast but it's more oily.

Phillips 3200 series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the 1200 but it malfunctioned out of the box, returned and they were out of them at BB, so I swing for the 3200, $376 more. Well unfortunately I can't compare the 2 machines. Full disclosure I like my coffee hot. black and strong. I can say that after some experimenting with amount of grinds and amount of water per cup I did dialed it in to a really good cup of coffee and very easy. Much better cup of coffee than Keurig and just as easy. Espresso is very good and very easy. Not as good as my manual espresso machine but no mess and sooo much faster and easier. Especially when you have guests that you actually like to spend time with. I have a feeling that the longer I use this machine the better it will get as long as it doesn't break on me.

Brewing Bliss: My take on the Philips 3200 Series
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a coffee enthusiast who relies on three cups a day, the Philips 3200 Espresso Machine has become my daily companion. The LatteGo Milk Frother creates velvety foam for lattes, and the ability to make iced coffee is a game-changer. With a variety of coffee options, it caters to my different moods. The sleek black design adds a modern touch to my kitchen. However, the machine's learning curve might be a bit steep for beginners, but once mastered, it delivers a barista-worthy experience. Overall, it's a worthy investment for anyone serious about their coffee ritual.

Favorite purchase of the year so far
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't been to a coffee shop since I got it. Grinds and brews quickly. Very easy to clean and maintain. Only issues that I have are nit picky and applied to all competitors that I researched. The water tank is a little small, cant fill cups taller than seven inches, and the error symbols aren't super descriptive. In conclusion, ditch the coffee shops unless you just go to socialize and use wifi.

Only a month in, and I never want to go without it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic machine! We use it frequently and even though it's loud, I don't doubt for a second that it's doing exactly what it's supposed to. The aroma from the fresh grounds is intoxicating and I can't get enough of how easy it is to use. The latte go accessory is really easy to clean. I've put both milk and creamer in it with zero problems. I would absolutely recommend this machine!
