From the first time I used this thing, I felt like I had paid too much for it. It does have a nice, attractive, space saving, sleek design, but it's just ok as far as juicing goes. I don't like that you have to hold the self cleaning button while it's working, and it only works for a few seconds before automatically stopping on its own, so if u want to do that longer, you have to keep letting go, pressing and holding again for the few seconds it works until you're satisfied. It is cute, but I'm mad I waited too long to return it. Definitely not worth $300, it should be half that at best.

At first impression the juicer looks sleek and very modern. It looks nice in the kitchen and it's not very big, so it doesn't take up a lot of space. I put in the kitchen island next to my other kitchen appliances. The juicer comes with a manual (which is terribly written) and a juicer instruction book so you can create new drinks (great help!). Putting it together wasn't complicated although there are 8 pieces to put together. I've never used a juicer before but this was a nice one to start with, I made juice w/ apples, oranges, and pineapples. It was delicious. Although it does get messy. I never knew how much fruits goes into a single cup of juice. The cleaning wasn't hard, used hot water and soap and it was good as new. It was a bummer about all the pulp left behind but then again that's the norm w/ juicer I guess. I like this juicer, its compact, sleek and it does its job. I would recommend to anyone. I'll be using this for my spinach, pineapple, and apple juice in the mornings.

The Philips Avance Juice Extractor is amazing. Assembly is simple and the device is easy to use. Performance: I've very impressed with the power of the Phillips Avance Juicer. Everything I've added to the juicer (including bananas, kale, spinach, carrots, nuts) has turned out wonderfully. Style: I particularly appreciate the style of the Phillips Avance. It looks great in the kitchen, and goes great with my other appliances. The sleek design is not only awesome to look at, but it makes handling the appliance easier too. Maintenance: Cleaning the Phillips Avance is a breeze. Within minutes the entire unit can be disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled, ready for use. The LED indicator lets you know if something is not attached properly.

this juicer is fantastic. very elegent design, simple to clean and even easier to use. it's a lot quieter than I was anticipating too, which is a plus. the opening isn't very large (due to its narrow design), so anything larger than than the thickness of a banana would need to be cut up.

    A Modern Juice Extractor

I have been using various Juicers/Blenders over the years. I was particularly excited to get this one as this is a Masticating Juice Extractor/ For those of you unfamiliar, this utilizes something similar to an auger to slice the products into little pieces and crush them as they pass further along the auger. Based on the yields I got, I would say it is fine. Not to bad but not crazy awesome as well. Overall I was satisfied with it. Pros: -The juicer is easy to put together, although the first time it took a bit of studying the picture instructions. -The juicer is easy to clean, literally takes less than 5 minutes to take apart and rinse. -Easy to use, the auger takes down most ingredients with ease, meaning you can juice just about anything. @@@@@@@@ I still have not tried nuts). -Sleek and modern, takes up very little space and looks great in the kitchen. Cons: -Small feeder tube, although this looks to be standard on these types of juices.

I have had this juicer for a few weeks now. I have made juice from quite a variety of fruits, and am excited every time I use it. It really is pretty slim and slides anywhere on the counter or in a cabinet. It looks cool and the moving pieces are really heavy duty. The only reason for 4 over 5 stars is the price.

The slim design makes for easy storage on the counter or in the cabinet. I thought the drill would rotate faster but it still extracted all of the juice AND most of the pulp. The "sieve-free design" probably makes for an easier cleanup, (just rinse it off) but that just gives you an extra step (and an extra dirty dish) to sieve the juice separately if you don't want the pulp. I wouldn't recommend this for first-time juicers, but it's good for those who make juicing a lifestyle. It's all about preference.

This is a great juicer. Clean up is super easy. Have tried grapes and carrots and it was great. Look forward to trying many more combinations. Comes with a small recipe book. It has a sleek design and does not take up a lot of counter space.

The philips juicer was easy to assemble with the included assembly guide. The quality is very good and feels like it will last a while. It is easy to use as well and the no drip spout works very well. We had a very low yeild on carrots and beet but worked really well with oranges. We did not find it easy to clean as a lot of stuff was left sticking on the mast which had to be completely diss assembled to clean it thoroughly. One of the advantages is the small footprint and the modern looks to fit into any kitchen.

The Philips Avance Collection Masticating Juice Extractor works well. I love the slim, lightweight design which allows for versatile positioning in several kitchen areas. However, the smaller size does force a little bit of extra prep time of the ingredients to get everything small or narrow enough to put through the juicer. Not that big a deal, but a bigger unit might be preferable to some. The machine is loud but not nearly as noisy as some other juicers I've used, and operation is simple. The included recipe book is nice, but I was able to create a number of wild combinations using the juicer without worrying about portioning, taste viability, healthiness, etc. Ginger everything, I say! A plus is being able to make your drink directly into your glass and not worry about the mess with the drip stopper spout. The parts are easily detachable and simple to reassemble. Cleanup isn't as quick as advertised (I think a minute is quite a reach, especially for some ingredients), but it's easy enough to not be burdensome over several uses if you can plan for the cleanup ahead of time. The first time I cleaned this was a little bit of a headache. Overall, this unit's a great juicer for on-the-go or quick energy drinks, especially for people short on kitchen area and want a well-designed, no-frills machine. Just leave time for cleanup. Full disclosure, I was provided this item for my honest, unbiased review.

This juicer is a wonderful product. At first, all the parts seem a bit much to clean every time, but it really doesn't take long at all. The unit isn't messy at all. The juice produced is nicely strained and there's hardly any pulp which I really like since I'm not a fan of pulp. There's a juice cup and storage lid so you can make quite a bit of juice at a time. I look forward to exploring and creating different combinations of healthy fruit and veggie juices.

Efficient Juicing and Easy Clean Up

This juicer is efficient and easy to use. Overall, I like using it and it seems like a good value for the price. Here are the pros and cons that I have found by using the juicer. Pros. First of all, it's easy to use. It takes a few minutes to figure out how everything fits together but once you get used to it you'll realize that the design is made for easy cleaning. Once assembled, it's as easy as chopping up some fruit or vegetables and putting them in the juicer. Another nice thing about this unit's that it's very compact. It's thin design is easy to store and doesn't take up a lot of precious kitchen space. Overall, it's high quality, sleek and sturdy. Perhaps the most important aspect of the juicer is that it works well! Although I am always shocked at how little juice you get from most fruits and vegetables, the juicer seems to extract almost all of it. The non-juice portion collects below the juicer and you can see and feel that it's dry, meaning that most of the juice is extracted. I tried carrots, celery and apples. They all worked well but what I noticed about the apples is that the juice varies depending on the type of apple. I used a softer apple and the juice was like apple sauce. I then used a crisper apple and it was much more like an apple cider (very juicy). Cons. The only negative about this juicer is that it doesn't process a lot of volume. The feeding tube is very small and fruits and vegetables need to be chopped into fine pieces in order to process. While this isn't a big deal if you are making drinks, it just means that it will take a long time to process large quantities (like when I harvest my garden). I think tomatoes will work great but for the harder fruit that needs to be cut up and de-cored it could take a lot longer. I should also note that, while this juicer cannot process a large volume quickly, it's worth it for the tradeoff between its size. Overall, the juicer is high quality and well designed. It's super easy to clean so you can use it for small quantities or daily without having to worry about a lot of cleanup. It literally rinses clean in less than a minute.

This is the first time I'm using a "masticating" juicer and I'm quite impressed with it. The design is sleek and looks cool on a kitchen countertop. Initially, I had to refer to the user guide/quick reference sheet to learn how to assemble it properly, but after a couple of times I longer have any trouble. There're 7 elements that come together to get the juicing done besides the main motor unit. This includes a 2-piece filter, a juice outlet with stopper function, a pulp/residue outlet, the main screw-like masticating unit, a tubular body, a berry tray and a pusher. There're also a pulp and a juice container with lid. A good recipe book is also included to start with some great ideas for juicing. After "assembling" the parts, using the juicer is a breeze. You just out the fruit/vegetable into the chute and use the pusher when the unit's turned on. There's only two buttons on the juicer - an on/off button and a "Reverse/Pre-clean" button. When it's on, the screw keeps rotating in a single steady pace - there's not speed control. As the fruits/vegetables are pushed down, they get caught in the screw and slowly juice starts to flow through the juice outlet. The pre-clean button turns the screw in the other direction for a short duration - this helps to get the residual juice out of the chute. One good feature of this is that the unit can't be turned on if the elements are not assembled properly. The pulp contained needs to be seated properly as well. Cleaning the unit's really easy, but I didn't find it possible to properly clean "in 1 minute" as advertised. Since there's no blade or sieve like the traditional juicers, you don't need to spend a lot of time to get all the tiny particles out of the unit. Disassembly is easy once you get the hang of it, and a nice rinse under running water is quite enough for temporary cleaning. The only thing you may need to spend time is the filter unit - it's made of plastics and can get damaged if you're not careful. Also I found that cleaning gets tougher if you leave it for some time - it's much more easier if you clean it immediately after juicing is finished. Some of the downsides I found are: - Juicing takes a bit more time than traditional bladed ones (but you're getting more juice in exchange) - The entry chute is not that big, so if you plan on making a large serving you have to be patient - The cord storage part is a joke - the cord does not stay wound in any way - As I mentioned, the filter part seems a bit to flimsy to me Overall, I like the juicer as it's a very convenient unit. The price is also comparable to similar juicers. I highly recommend it.

I am new to juicing and wasn't sure what to expect with this product. There are many different types of juicers out there so it can be a little overwhelming at first. When I received the product I was excited to try it. It was pretty easy to assemble and clean after using. It's not bulky and looks very modern to go with any kitchen. I do like how it has a drip stop function. Cons It's easy to lose the detachable parts. I have never used another juicer but I feel like a lot of the juice was still in the pulp. You have to press down firmly feeding the machine with vegetables. Otherwise overall I would give this product a 3.5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this to a friend who wants to start juicing.

I love this juicer just not the time it takes to make it, I just can't see taking a star or two for that reason though. I did however take a star off for the mess, ready below. First off the manual is right up there with put together furniture manuals, horrible. It's not really needed anyway as the unit is pretty straight forward and simple to use. Super sleek, sold and compact makes this a great addition to our small appliances. Clean up is simple and easy so far. I have ran about four different concoctions through it and all have cleaned up easily. The juice recipe book that's included has some great ideas and I tried two of them, we loved them both. Plan for spending about 30 minutes or more in prep and juicing before you get to enjoy the fruit of your labor. Most things need to be cut up pretty good to fit into the fill slot and not much fits in there so it is time consuming. Not very noisy either. My biggest and really only complaint was the mess it makes on the counter and surrounding area (yourself and the floor), it would be nice to come with something better to collect the juice into, maybe with some type of chute or higher to the spout. But other than that this baby pulverizes whatever you put in it. Does a great job getting every last drop out.

Philips Avance Collection Masticating Juicer Quick Features on the Product MicroMasticating extracts up to 90% of the fruit After juicing all parts can be rinsed clean in 1 minute thanks to its no sieve design Pre-clean function squeezes last drops of juice out Easily detachable and rinsed clean without any kitchen tool Innovative drip stop keeps your counter clean LED lights give you reassembly feedback What's in the box? Philips Avance Collection Masticating Juicer Quick start up guide Inspiring recipe book Setup/Testing/Conclusion Lets first start off with the packaging of the product. The product comes in a standard designed box with well molded protective material to keep the unit from getting damaged during transit. Upon opening the box to reveal the juicer, you will find all the contents I listed above "What's in the box?" . The juicer itself looks really sleek and I think will look great accompanying your other kitchen tech gadgets if you decide to purchase one. I'll jump right into assembly. Assembly was pretty straight forward and you don't necessarily need to reference to the quick start guide. After assembly, I decided to take it all apart again to wash it. The neat feature here is that there's a built in LED light that gives you feedback after you've put it back together. Also if you didn't put it back together correctly; it simply wouldn't work. The safety feature on this is definitely nice to have. Now let's head right on over to performance and testing/usage. When powering on the juicer with the button located on the top rear of the unit; it was surprisingly not too loud compared to other juicers I have used previously. The first thing we juiced was watermelon. The Philips Avance Collection Masticating Juicer made a decent amount of juice. Personally, the spouse and I didn't enjoy having to cut the already pre-bought/cut watermelon even smaller so that it would fit the feeder of the juicer. After finishing juicing the watermelon, we used the pre-clean function to make sure we get every last drop of the watermelon juice. We utilized the innovative drop stop which definitely assisted with keeping our counter clean (no drips! @@@@@@@ . The next 2 things we juiced after were cantaloupe with honeydew and then pineapple. We went through the same process for each and every fruit that we juiced. Personally, the spouse and I felt like it still made a mess even with the innovative drop stop. When juicing, it seems the feeder likes to spit out fruit juice everywhere. Let me say, it's not A LOT; but I could tell you that I definitely felt some hit my body/skin here and there. I even saw some juice residue on the unit itself from splatters/leakage (mainly in the front). After completing our juicing process, we proceeded to the cleaning of the juicer itself. I can first hand tell you that it DOES NOT take 1 minute as it's advertised if you're cleaning it. The pulp and fruit juice is kinda everywhere once you disassemble the unit. When hand washing the removable parts, let's just say you need to have a sponge with dish soap and hot water to clean this thing thoroughly. It does state that you can use a dishwasher to clean all the disassembled parts; but would you necessarily run the dishwasher just for the juicer? If you do just throw it in the dishwasher, I don't know if the water pressure is going to actually fully clean it thoroughly if it has a lot of pulp stuck everywhere. We tested the cleaning method of just rinsing it and throwing it in the dishwasher once we had enough accumulated dishes. The result was pretty good (our dishwasher is brand new) although as I mentioned above I still had to hand wash a part of two after the dishwasher because there were stuff still stuck in a couple parts. The main function that the spouse and I enjoyed the most was making almond milk. We were able to run the almonds through 3 times to make a significant amount of almond milk. The end result of the almonds were completely powder as the Philips Avance Collection Masticating Juicer did a great job at that. In conclusion, I feel like the Philips Avanace Collection Masticating Juicer could have some improvements made.Unfortunately do so many cons I experienced with the juicer, I'll have to put my rating at 3 out of 5 for this puppy. There were definitely some highlights that I mentioned above but I personally feel the cons outweigh the pros this time. Philips has always made great quality products (I own quite a few) and I enjoy having them in my kitchen. In this specific instance, I wouldn't be able to confidently recommend this product to a friend.

The Good Things About This Philips Avance Masticating Juicer The bottom of this Philips juicer has 6 rubber pads to help it sit secure. All of the components of this appliance are made of quality materials, mainly heavy plastics which will last quite a while. The spinning center shaft that crushes the fruits and vegetables is made really well, and the smallest section which does most of the crushing, is made of a heavy duty stainless steel. On the top of this juicer is two buttons, one is the power button which turns the juicer on and off, and the other button reverses the direction of the motor, of which the reverse setting is a way of pre-rinsing the unit and allowing the final amount of juices to flow through. This appliance has a really nice heavy duty latch which holds the masticating shaft assembly into place. The type of plastic which the pulp and juice containers are made out of, is the SANS type of plastic, of which SANS plastic shows better dishwasher wear resistance compared to polycarbonate, which is due to the fact that SANS plastic is more resistant to chemicals in the dishwashing detergent. I tested this juicer the first time on a 5 pound bag of carrots, and it has plenty of power to easily crush the hard fibers of carrots into juice, of which it is best to be patient when juicing harder vegetables, and avoid pressing too hard downward on the appliance. A gentle and slow downward press is best to accomplish juicing carrots which avoids damaging the appliance by applying too much force. This Philips juicer is designed to be thinner than most juicers made by other manufacturers, and this is really nice for kitchens that are limited in countertop space. This Philips juicer has quite a bit of weight to it, which means it has a heavy duty motor on the inside. The process of cleaning the juicer is fairly simply, as the top section can be disassembled and all of the pieces can easily be rinsed clean with water. The anti drip spout is a nice feature, as it does prevent dribbling on the countertop when the juice holding container is not in place. Most juicers do not have an anti drip spout. Other Details About This Philips Avance Masticating Juicer One of the only thing about this appliance which could have been designed better, is that there is a gap that is below the spinning shaft and above the pulp container, this empty space causes the upper section to flex when pressing downward on fruits or vegetables that are being juiced. I added a rectangular shaped plastic spacer to fill this gap, this prevents this flexing of the top section downward. See one of my attached images which shows the plastic spacer that I added. It is always kind of nice when expensive appliance also have a nicer than average power cord to match, which I prefer a nice round power cord. The power cord on this appliance is just average, it is a run of the mill power cord that can be found on most appliances. With that being said, the power cord is sufficient, and the thinness of the power cord does allow it to wind up easier on the lower part of the base. Overall Impression Of This Philips Avance Masticating Juicer This is a well designed and functional masticating juicer, I would suggest this product to a person who has enough time and dedication to regularly juice fruits and vegetables. The juicing process is easy and kind of fun, but is a bit time consuming.
