I've had this for about a week... Pretty easy to assemble and take apart I like the LED safety light, it lets you know if its assembles correctly, and as a safety feature it wont work if its assembled incorrectly. The "chute" that you put the fruit into seems small, you have to cut up pieces pretty small to fit in there, it would have been nice to have a bigger "chute". The juice container is small, I think this juicer is made as a single serving type, I'm not sure of the exact volume it holds, but it isn't enough for more than 1, maybe 2 people.

Upon pulling this product out of the box and setting it up use was easy. Following the instructions and recipes I was making good tasting fresh juice. The only thing o don't like is that it takes several fruit pieces to make a cup. You can modify the drinks any way you want once squeezed. Like adding yougart, milk, and or sugar. Still it is easy to use.

The Good Things About This Philips Avance Masticating Juicer The bottom of this Philips juicer has 6 rubber pads to help it sit secure. All of the components of this appliance are made of quality materials, mainly heavy plastics which will last quite a while. The spinning center shaft that crushes the fruits and vegetables is made really well, and the smallest section which does most of the crushing, is made of a heavy duty stainless steel. On the top of this juicer is two buttons, one is the power button which turns the juicer on and off, and the other button reverses the direction of the motor, of which the reverse setting is a way of pre-rinsing the unit and allowing the final amount of juices to flow through. This appliance has a really nice heavy duty latch which holds the masticating shaft assembly into place. The type of plastic which the pulp and juice containers are made out of, is the SANS type of plastic, of which SANS plastic shows better dishwasher wear resistance compared to polycarbonate, which is due to the fact that SANS plastic is more resistant to chemicals in the dishwashing detergent. I tested this juicer the first time on a 5 pound bag of carrots, and it has plenty of power to easily crush the hard fibers of carrots into juice, of which it is best to be patient when juicing harder vegetables, and avoid pressing too hard downward on the appliance. A gentle and slow downward press is best to accomplish juicing carrots which avoids damaging the appliance by applying too much force. This Philips juicer is designed to be thinner than most juicers made by other manufacturers, and this is really nice for kitchens that are limited in countertop space. This Philips juicer has quite a bit of weight to it, which means it has a heavy duty motor on the inside. The process of cleaning the juicer is fairly simply, as the top section can be disassembled and all of the pieces can easily be rinsed clean with water. The anti drip spout is a nice feature, as it does prevent dribbling on the countertop when the juice holding container is not in place. Most juicers do not have an anti drip spout. Other Details About This Philips Avance Masticating Juicer One of the only thing about this appliance which could have been designed better, is that there is a gap that is below the spinning shaft and above the pulp container, this empty space causes the upper section to flex when pressing downward on fruits or vegetables that are being juiced. I added a rectangular shaped plastic spacer to fill this gap, this prevents this flexing of the top section downward. See one of my attached images which shows the plastic spacer that I added. It is always kind of nice when expensive appliance also have a nicer than average power cord to match, which I prefer a nice round power cord. The power cord on this appliance is just average, it is a run of the mill power cord that can be found on most appliances. With that being said, the power cord is sufficient, and the thinness of the power cord does allow it to wind up easier on the lower part of the base. Overall Impression Of This Philips Avance Masticating Juicer This is a well designed and functional masticating juicer, I would suggest this product to a person who has enough time and dedication to regularly juice fruits and vegetables. The juicing process is easy and kind of fun, but is a bit time consuming.

This is my first experience with a juicer and I really like the ease of use with this juicer. Out of the box it requires a few small easy steps for assembly. (I hate that the directions only show pictures.) Once assembled, I cut up some fruit and started juicing. I've heard of some juicers being really loud but this one is not loud at all. It works really well. Clean up is one of the best things with this juicer. You just take out some of the parts, rinse, and you're done. It is very slim so that it can fit on your countertop without taking up a lot of space (although I will store it somewhere else). I'ven't had any other juicers to compare this one to, but after using it a couple of times I would recommend for a first timer.

So far really good. We use a couple times per day with no issues. Clean up appears difficult at first, but the unit comes apart easily and is easy to rinse and wash. Very compact, so takes very less space in the drying rack. Extracts excellent fresh juice from basic fruits. No issues on carrots, potatoes, or other hard type of vegetables. It blows through fruit, although I don't think we've tried banana or mango yet. Very easy for first time setup and use. Super light weight and easy to move from one place to another. Forward button helps in extracting the final juice left over in the machine. The pulp gets accumulated very neatly in the collector. The juice collector's lid is very helpful for pouring the juice into cups or glasses. Overall, an excellent product for the juice lovers. I don't find anything negative in the product so far. Would definitely recommend this to my friends who are willing to pay a little extra for fresh juice.

When our juicer arrived, we were very excited to get started making our own juuice combinations! Upon opening the box, all the pieces and parts were separate and needed to be put together. No big deal as it's pretty simple and the instructions do a decent job of illustrating what needs to be done. I expected the juicer to be bigger, but was pleasantly surprised by it's compact design. It fits nicely on our counter. This juicer is amazing. I extracts every last bit of juice from whatever you feed it. For my test run, I cut up some apples and fed them to the juicer, peels and all. The juice was delicious, there were no chunky bits or anything. When I went to empty the refuse bin, I was pretty amazed to see how little of the apple was left. It was like it had been reduced to apple dust, lol. Fruits with thin skins (any skin that you eat) go right through it. Thicker skinned fruits, like oranges, need to be peeled. When using oranges, make sure you get rid of the white pith otherwise your juice may taste a little bitter. Cleaning is a breeze. Everything comes apart easily and rinses clean in a snap. All in all, this juicer is everything we wanted and expected it to be. Philips makes quality products and this juicer is nothing less. Buy with confidence.

Decent juicer with sleek and easy-to-clean design

This is the first time I'm using a "masticating" juicer and I'm quite impressed with it. The design is sleek and looks cool on a kitchen countertop. Initially, I had to refer to the user guide/quick reference sheet to learn how to assemble it properly, but after a couple of times I longer have any trouble. There're 7 elements that come together to get the juicing done besides the main motor unit. This includes a 2-piece filter, a juice outlet with stopper function, a pulp/residue outlet, the main screw-like masticating unit, a tubular body, a berry tray and a pusher. There're also a pulp and a juice container with lid. A good recipe book is also included to start with some great ideas for juicing. After "assembling" the parts, using the juicer is a breeze. You just out the fruit/vegetable into the chute and use the pusher when the unit's turned on. There's only two buttons on the juicer - an on/off button and a "Reverse/Pre-clean" button. When it's on, the screw keeps rotating in a single steady pace - there's not speed control. As the fruits/vegetables are pushed down, they get caught in the screw and slowly juice starts to flow through the juice outlet. The pre-clean button turns the screw in the other direction for a short duration - this helps to get the residual juice out of the chute. One good feature of this is that the unit can't be turned on if the elements are not assembled properly. The pulp contained needs to be seated properly as well. Cleaning the unit's really easy, but I didn't find it possible to properly clean "in 1 minute" as advertised. Since there's no blade or sieve like the traditional juicers, you don't need to spend a lot of time to get all the tiny particles out of the unit. Disassembly is easy once you get the hang of it, and a nice rinse under running water is quite enough for temporary cleaning. The only thing you may need to spend time is the filter unit - it's made of plastics and can get damaged if you're not careful. Also I found that cleaning gets tougher if you leave it for some time - it's much more easier if you clean it immediately after juicing is finished. Some of the downsides I found are: - Juicing takes a bit more time than traditional bladed ones (but you're getting more juice in exchange) - The entry chute is not that big, so if you plan on making a large serving you have to be patient - The cord storage part is a joke - the cord does not stay wound in any way - As I mentioned, the filter part seems a bit to flimsy to me Overall, I like the juicer as it's a very convenient unit. The price is also comparable to similar juicers. I highly recommend it.
