Super easy set up and installation of hardware and app controls. I used the bulbs in a floor lamp that needs three. I was amazed at the amount of flexibility I had in setting in whatever color combination I had. If you like playing around, try the Hue Labs recipes - they are very creative and they are a great start to you experimenting with different light conditions that can be controlled by the app or scheduled. What confused me, however, was there are two apps, Philips Hue and Philips Hue (Bluetooth). The bluetooth app can control the bulbs if you do not have a bridge, but is cumbersome to operate. The best way to take maximum advantage of the bulbs is to use the bridge - which will allow you to schedule and create different zones / rooms allowing for better control and options. The bridge will control only Philips smart bulbs and any other Zigbee based device. If you have an existing bridge of a different brand, make sure that bridge supports Philips and you will have to pair the two bridges to automate any integration
