Paired this with two Hue White bulbs on either side of the bed. It's nice to be able to click on/off/up/down without having to use a slider on the phone app. It comes with a wall plate so you can remove/replace your light switch if you want to go that far.

I started off with 3 bulbs and loved them so much that within 2 weeks I now have 13 of them in my house and will be getting another 3 soon! This dimmer controls the bathroom lights and is great for middle of the night trip to the bathroom.

The dimmer switch allows other people in your house to controll hue lights without the app, which is awesome. The switch doubles a portable remote and attaches to the base by a magnet. Mine has a slight delay but it might be my network, but it easy to live with and after a bit you get used to it. My switch actually controls my hue led strip lights, i used the bulb as a porch light. Both connected to the hue hub just fine. Bulb seems to a bit brighter than a typical 65 watt bulb but that just my opinion?

Wanted a dimmer and LEDs and found it a better deal to get the dimmer kit than paying for an electrician to do hardwiring. Bonus that you can connect it to the full Hue experience with the Hub to control your whole house.

This is a great item to have. The extra switch is indeed worth having to control multiple lights... I like being able to press the in button multiple times to switch between you own presets for dimming. My one knock is it allows u to control all of ur hue lights together if u want... But I would like to be able to have my Hue blooms on and my whites on, be able to dim only the whites... But yet have the off button. Turn off EVERYTHING... this is not an option by default. I have read that there may be other apps that allow u to reprogram the switch, but that still isn't ideal. Maybe single press off, turns off the whites, double press turns off all the lights I want associated with the switch... As if now, you have to associate all lights to every function, so when u dim the lights all lights, even the blooms dim... Please Phillips make an adjustment.

Virtually plug and play just have to screw in the bulb no phone app required. Bought this light and switch to control a wall scone light in kitchen that had no wall switch just a twist switch at base of fixture, I bought a new fixture and it had no twist switch at all it was meant for a wall switch only so with this set up I was able to wirelessly add a switch to controll it on and off plus dimmer. Perfect solution!

Needed a physical switch to control my Hue light bulbs. The dimming switch works well, and also matches the typical modern light switches that most people have in their homes. The switch can be mounted to the wall via the plate using adhesive strips or using screws. The switch itself magentically sticks to the plate, and can be removed from the plate and used similar to a remote. Syncing the switch to the Hue Hub was easy and is much easier to use than always controlling lights via the app.

We've struggled with our bedroom lights for years. Light switch at the door... hop into bed, then forced to use the lamp switch. Now we can move the switch with us or use voice. Excellent product!

I needed to add an extra light and switch to a room. Dimmer kit works well even without a hub. You can even sync additional Hue bulbs with the dimmer switch without the need for a hub.

The Philips Hue brand smart lighting system is the most reliable lighting system for the money on the market. Yes, the color bulbs are a bit pricey but the dimmable A19 bulbs are affordable and this is a great starter kit for anyone who needs a smart light in a pinch. Note, this switch uses batteries but the Major Plus with this remote smart light is it works when the internet is down as a regular switch to the A19 bulb.

Works wonderfully and is one of my favorite parts of the whole Phillips Hue items. Allows you to add a dimmer switch anywhere in your house without wiring anything. Just stick it to the wall and connect it to your hue bridge. BONUS: its also a magnetic remote that can be removed from the wall but the base still stays attached. LOVE IT, have had it for several months now and haven't had any issues.

I've purchased 5 of these sets over the past half year; if you need both bulbs and remotes, it's a little cheaper purchasing this pack than buying them seperately (one of the few ways you can save on Philips Hue hardware!). I keep purchasing more because with the iOS app iControlHue, I'm able to customise these switches with presets, animations, and day/night splits or multi-press coded features (albeit not multi-press & day/night split simultaneously on the same button). It's surprisingly powerful for an otherwise fairly limited system, and eminently useful. In my living room, a remote lets my cycle through different preset scenes. At my desk I can control the entire area lighting from dim to bright. In my kitchen, multiple presses control different areas of the surrounding rooms. In my bedroom, the remote accesses difference scenes (either bright or dim) depending on time of day. In my office I can start and stop light animations in the company colours. The lightbulb: The hardware is a combination of metal and plastic, not quite the slick metal and glass of the colour Philips bulbs. It's nothing special, but the light quality is passable. It's a very warm light, and will contrast starkly against other (more advanced) Philips bulbs set to cool or bright white. The only real problem I've had is after a power outage in my apartment, one of the lightbulbs no longer works. The lamp was plugged into a surge protector, but somehow ended up fried (it sometimes flashes once when powered on, but no longer responds correctly to commands). The remote: The hardware is all plastic, and the magnets in the frame mean you can easily mount it anywhere magnetic; refrigerators, metal table legs, etc. After months of use, I have yet to change any batteries, and they still report as full power (perhaps saying more about the accuracy of the battery level reporting than efficiency, but still, they're all working great). Sometimes the remotes seem to have trouble communicating, and require a couple button presses to wake up. For the most part I feel the reliability is acceptable. Compatibility: while the lightbulbs might work with other home automation systems (typically via the Philips Hue Bridge), the remotes will only work within the Philips ecosystem. They can actually work without the Philips Hue Bridge at all, controlling Philips Hue lightbulbs directly, but apparently they cannot successfully pair with devices not made by Philips. If you're hoping to expand your home automation system in the future (really, anything other than Philips Hue lights!), the remotes aren't going to be nearly as useful. I've looked into a number of possible solutions, and there's no easy way to interface the Philips remotes with any other home automation system. The best luck I've had was triggering actions off of light bulb status, which is a frustrating workaround. External systems must constantly ask the Philips Hue bridge if a lightbulb is off or on in order to detect a change; there's no way for the Philips system to post or push updates to other systems. It's very much a closed ecosystem, and it means that connecting other actions (automated shades, other lamp systems, thermostats, etc.) to a Philips remote is nearly impossible. In conclusion, the bulbs are standard fare and work just fine (unless you suffer from periodic power outages). The remotes require a third party app (not free) in order to really unlock their potential, but depending on your use case, are probably worth it.

I have many Hue bulbs and they are the most reliable smart bulbs on the market. The bulb in this package isn't anything special but it dims well and gives off a good light. The dimmer is also solid. Lights turn on and off instantly when I push the button. Overall solid product. If you already own a hue hub and want a bulb, look into this for the dimmer as well. You won't be disappointing.
