The lights are great but to get the full potential out of them, you need to add skills and some cost money. They work great with my Echo

Love being able to turn on/off my lights with Alexa! Easy to set up. I didn’t think I really needed the color but have found I use the blue setting the most!

I have been using Hue for the past 2 or so years now. This system is one of the best purchases I've made in my entire life. They may be a bit pricey ($200 for the starter kit, $50 per additional bulb, $80 for the strip, more accessories, more accessories, etc.) but they're worth every penny. I justify the prices with the amount of use I get out of these.. they do light my home after all. With 16m colors which last you 25k hours, you'll definitely get your moneys worth. The initial setup should take you no more that 10 min and every accessory you add on should be less than 1 minute. Everyone I've ever gotten this for or recommended it to has not only adapted to using the system but have added on to it. My 60 year old father and 62 year old step mother love changing the lights with Siri. He ended up spending an additional $700 to fit his entire condo with Hue after I got him the starter kit for Christmas last year. The system easily pairs with Apple's HomeKit/Siri (I use it on my iPhone and iPad), my GoogleHome and my friends, who I recommended Hue to, Amazon Alexa. Its awesome to walk into a dark room and say "hey google, lights orange" and have that happen. Its also nice to have left the house, remember that you left lights on and be able to say "hey Siri, lights off" and you're not wasting electricity or burning out your $50 bulb. I can literally go on for hours on how impressed I am with these products. Ask questions

5 stars for the produce, -1 star for the price. These have an impressive array of colors, are dead simple to setup and they integrated easily with Smartthings and Alexa. I just wish they were more affordable so I could add more.

Very easy to set up, everything worked right from the start. Synced them with Alexa. No issues whatsoever. Now everybody who comes to my place gets totally wowed. I've never had such a cool looking setup. I have to admit, I paid more than I wanted for these lights, but the enjoyment and the fun I get from them is well worth the investment. I did a lot of research before buying them. It is true that compared to some of the competition they are not as bright. But the system is solid, well built, and is scalable. I needed the strip lights as well, and will most likely need more lights and accessories in the future, so this was a good starting point for me. I wish the app that syncs them with music was a part of the main app.

Philips is known worldwide for quality products and the Hue system is the gold standard when it comes to smart lighting. It supports multiple platforms including google, apple homekit, amazon alexa among others. It allows users to control their lights from anywhere in the world using the internet. The app is super easy to use and allows users to select different scenes to spice up the mood lighting experience. The setup is easy and once the hub is connected to the internet, all bulbs are automatically paired. The bulbs are super efficient LEDs with 16 million color combinations possible. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants mood lighting coupled with reliability and internet based control and voice based control. The lifespan of the bulbs is almost 22 years and a combination of the color bulbs, white ambience bulbs and white bulbs will make the entire house smart lit and budget friendly at the same time.

I tried this out after sitting on the fence for a while. Though I was fortunate to snag it up at a reduced price, my home was not ready for this just yet. I initially wanted to go the full Monty and change most of the everyday lights but I realized it would be a challenge keeping all the light fixture switches "on". These bulbs discard the color settings when the wall switch is turned off (or power cut to them). This implies that I would have required some mechanism to prevent other family members using the wall switches after the install (remember, once the switch is set off you cannot see the bulb on the app). Should your home automation be at the point where an Alexa, for example, is being used for room illumination I would assume this hurdle would have already been overcome. There are several workarounds to this (with some cost and some visual displeasure) if you really want to make it work. The setup was a breeze (connect the switch to router, download app and add bulbs). I didn't find the default app intuitive (too many steps for a desired result) but I believe there are some third party apps some online reviews swore by. I played with a few color schemes and experienced a few lags on some occasions. Resetting the switch is also easy. Eventually, when these become mainstream and cheaper, I have no doubt they will catch on especially when houses get built with them in mind. For now, retrofitting in my opinion, is an uphill battle I wasn't ready for at the current price point and functionality.

Purchased these on sale. Quite expensive for LED lights, but they are pretty neat. I have been working on getting more "smart" items in my home. These are now added to the list. Take some time to get to know them and what they can do. It was very easy to set them up, no issues with the bridge in the basement and lights upstairs.

Love. Love, Love my HUE LED bulbs. I've been using the same kit since 2017. I moved it to three different homes since then. Works great with Alexa and the Philip Hue Wireless Dimmer Switch with Remote.

These have great colors and are very easy to set up. My only cons are that they are expensive, and it would be awesome to be able to boost the response time of the bridge by using multiple bridges.

This was the starter kit for a new Philips HUE system at my house. Setup could hardly be simpler using the bridge and my phone and/or iPad. It just works. The lights are bright and have great color flexibility. I initially thought I’d need to replace my light switches, but ended up keeping them and using app to change color/color-temperature after turning on. In this way others in my house get light simply and I can tune the light as needed. Only slight issue is it would be nice to program color on AC power-up rather than always going to standard white.

Makes for awesome Man cave/den/outdoor patio. Create your own color schemes or choose from preset schemes. Sync with music / movies / football games etc. Can set timers, colors for all moods. Easiest set-up, Ask Alexa to dim or raise lighting. Also your out past dark..... no problem with Hue and or Alexa app turn your lights on before getting home. If happen to be out of town, throw a rench in your burglars plans with programming your lights, or just have fun confusing your cats. Again, awesome useful product.

This is the first set of smart bulbs which I am using. Philips hue work seamlessly with all my other smart home products (Siri, Echo and Google Home). I really liked the scenes that automatically adjusts all the bulbs into different colors. The only thing that is missing is analyzing the distance where bulbs are placed in the room/house and automatically adjust the brightness according to that. If this feature comes to Philips Hue Hub, it would make the whole set of Philips products amazing.

The lights are awesome. Bright enough to read a book but not so bright that you feel like you have to get up and dust when they are all the way up on the brightness scale. I would recommend the Google Home or Amazon Echo both play nice and allow for voice control. You can also create scenes and schedules. I have 7 Bulbs now and 5 light strips. The apps for the HUE product line really make it fun when you're having a birthday party or a Superbowl party. This price point is a steal.

So far I am impressed by this set. Its easy to set up, and easy to install. The lights themselves are very bright, as I have some fixtures that hold two bulbs, but I only installed one. The only negative on these is the cost of the bulbs themselves. These are the color change bulbs, and they are typically 39-49 each if not purchased in a set. But they are so cool and fun to use that you will want to change all the bulbs in the house to them, which is expensive.
