Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Hue White A19 LED Starter Kit's ease of use, brightness control, and compatibility with smart home systems like Apple HomeKit and Alexa. Many appreciate the simple setup and the ability to automate lighting schedules. However, some customers find the price to be a significant drawback, and a few have experienced issues with the app's functionality and the range of the bridge. The overall experience is positive for most users, but potential buyers should consider these minor drawbacks.

I bought this as a gift for my mother and father-in-law. They only have little lamps throughout their house with no overhead lights. This is perfect because now they can turn heir lights in by speaking too. If you don’t have these lights I highly encourage you to try these and claim you don’t like them. I know in my own house I love the fact I can dim the lights at night and not see the light reflecting off the tv while watching a game or some other show. But my favorite thing is keeping the lights dim in the morning so I don’t feel blinded by the light.

So far we are enjoying the starter kit. The app and bulb set up is easy. We plan on adding more and going with different color bulb. Lots of different settings for wake up in the morning to sleeping at night. It connects to your Wi-Fi and you can use it within your Wi-Fi only.

I can't say enough about how great these lights are. The set-up was incredibly easy and the app is fast and simple. They are very responsive. I got them on sale and have not had one regret. The Bridge is small and easy to hide. My only gripe is that the app settings seem to conflict with my Alexa settings sometimes, but that's an Echo issue. Not Hue's problem. I even found a way around that. If you are thinking about it, just buy them. You won't regret it. They are so simple to use that I am buying them for my parents.

Nice lights with very easy setup...One caveat...make sure you leave the light switch on so that the lights have continuous power. If your inadvertently flip the switch, the lights will disconnect from the network breaking the connection to the app

I love this starter kit. It is so convenient. I set a timer for my lights to come on every day at 5:30 and turn off everyday at 11pm. Now I never have to worry about my dogs being in the dark if I have to work late. (they have a dog door and auto feeder so they can let themselves out.) I also love the dim feature. And you can even set it as a night light. For now I have three bulbs in the living room and one in the lamp in my bedroom side table. Eventually I will buy more and have the whole house on this system.

I bought these to work with my Google Home. Extremely easy to setup, Google recognized the bulbs without any trouble. Now my lights turn on and off manually or voice command. Can't wait to get more bulbs for the rest of the house.

Philips - Hue White A19 LED Starter Kit - White is great. Installation was very easy. The bulbs are nice and bright. The app was easy to install on my smartphone. And, connected with Alexa I can turn lights on/off/dim with just voice commands. And was able to get this on a Best Buy sale!

I very pleased with this product. I use it with Amazon Alexa Plus and have had no problems. The Hue app loaded and setup with no problem on my Samsung S7. We use the lights in a family room. It's nice to be able to dim your lights when watching TV in the evening. All I have to do is say "Alexa, turn the lights on 25% or 50%" and about 2 seconds later, there at 25 - 50% or whatever % you want. They are sufficiently bright for a family/living room.

Easy to use out of the box. Easy setup and activation. Works great with my Android phone and Echo Dot as well. Love being able to turn on my kids bedroom light from another room to wake him up for school, or for that matter any room light in the house from the couch through Alexa. Can we get any more lazy? I think so! ;) Can't comment on power consumption but the light bases get quite hot although the lights themselves do not. They are LEDs.

These have so much functionality; I've barely scratched the surface of what they can do. But if nothing else, I absolutely love the ability to control them remotely. Now I can turn the living room light on when I get out of bed, instead of stumbling my way there in the dark and stepping on cat toys the whole way. Conversely, when going to bed, I can turn them off from there, without needing to make a trip across the house and back. Very cool!

Recently got the Google Home Mini so I was looking to make the house smart. Looked at different smart bulbs and was having second thoughts about the Philips since it requires a hub as opposed to competing brands (eg. Lifx, Wiz). Black Friday was a good chance for me to get these for a fairly "reasonable" price, at least as far as smart bulbs are concerned. Setup was quick and painless, including its incorporation into Google Assistant. I did find the fixed color temperature disappointing (quite warm too) and have to purchase the more expensive Ambiance bulbs for that option. Still a good buy overall and now cheaper to buy the bulbs alone if I plan to add more around the house.

This starter kit is easy to set up and is nice for control when away from home.I control my lights with the Hue app but also have the option to use the Amazon Alexa app too. I almost always use Alexa voice command if home otherwise I control with the Hue app when away. If I'm at home but not near Alexa I use Siri on my phone to also control lights. The only drawback is that you have to be connected to WiFi to control away from home.

My wife and I decided to line our apartment with smart lights. It was more on a whim, and the final price tag was a little more than expected, but I've never been more pleased. The functionality has far surpassed any small description listed on the packaging. Some of the biggest advantages include: turning the lights on before I get out of the car (with take out in hand, groceries, packages, etc). No more fumbling around in the dark trying to find open space and then turning on the lights. Or, if I forget to start them from my phone, as soon as I walk in my Google Assistant turns them on with my voice. Turning off or on all the lights from bed in the morning or night. Inidividual light control for ambient lighting during movies. The list goes on and on. The dimming feature is also far more beneficial than I expected. To go from brightness while eating to a mood setting for movies is quite convenient.

I bought these so I could have all the lights in my bedroom turn on with one "switch" or "command". The install was very easy and quick. I have six lights in the room and they are all on stand lights that are not on a wall switch. I added the hue wall switch to this setup and they all turn on without issue. I also added it to my google home so now I can just "ask" it to turn the lights on. very slick. I would recommend this set.
