Customers are saying
Customers enjoy the Hue White A19 LED Starter Kit's ease of use, brightness control, and compatibility with smart home systems like Apple HomeKit and Alexa. Many appreciate the simple setup and the ability to automate lighting schedules. However, some customers find the price to be a significant drawback, and a few have experienced issues with the app's functionality and the range of the bridge. The overall experience is positive for most users, but potential buyers should consider these minor drawbacks.

easy to setup
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took me less than 15 minutes to set up; most of my time was waiting on downloading the Philips Hue app. Connected to the Google home app with no problems. Well worth the money, no more middle of the night bumping into things, plus added security. You can turn on “all lights” if you think someone is in your home or your wanting to wake everyone up. LOL! Added bonus, you can dim the lights on command, saves power and your eyes.

Super cool!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this for everyone in my home. We set routines so the lights power on for those who have to get up early for work. And even a set schedule at night in the event anyone forgets to turn their room lights off. I do recommend buying the white ambiance lights. the ones that come with the starter kit are a bit too yellow for my tastes. But over all, I wish I bought into this sooner. Can't wait to automate the entire house!

Great lights
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't sure whether to choose the colored or white packet, in the end, because of the price I went for the white ones, after all, all our lives we've had white light bulbs. I absolutely love them.... I leave home and they turn off, I come back and they are on. If I'm out till late, they'll turn on and it looks like there's someone home. You can program a routine and even when I'm out of town I can adjust those routines!

Great home automation lights
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 3 of these lights in my kitchen and one in my living room. I have one over my sink and two over my island. I have named them Sink light and Island lights so I can turn them on separately. I can also turn them on and off at the same time by calling them kitchen lights. I also have them on a timer so they they turn on and off automatically. This works very well too. I am very impressed with how well they work.

Easy to set up, easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hue bridge and bulbs are very easy to set up and use -- just plug in the bridge, load the app, connect the two, and then install the lights. Once you connect the lights to the app, you set up rooms and start controlling the lights remotely. It's even easy to set up with Amazon's Alexa, giving you voice control as well. The bulbs themselves give off a pleasant soft white light and are definitely 60w equivalent.

Great lights
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very bright lights that can be controlled from your phone. The lights work great, my only complaint is that you have to be connected to your home network to create routines.

Loving it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first entry into the smart home realm. I have integrated this lighting system into the Apple Home app and can’t be happier with the product. I have three zones and use Siri to control all three. It’s nice to come home from being out and letting Siri do the work. The Hue app is great as well. I am thinking a camera will be my next smart Home purchase and remote everything with Apple TV.

Great start to a smart home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This kit comes with the Hue hub and 4 bulbs. Really easy to set up. Make sure you have a wired plug available on your router as it has to be hard wired to the internet. But connecting the bulbs to the hub was super easy. Just a simple search with the lights turned on and the hub found them all. The app is easy to use and you can group the bulbs together to create custom lighting schemes.

Love my Hue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this about a year ago and I love it. Yeah, it’s not fancy with all the colored lights but it works well. I’ve only ever had a few issues with these which was quickly resolved anyways so it’s not a big deal. The app is nice and easy to use. I love all the features such as turning on the light automatically at sunrise or sunset. There are plenty of other things you can program these lights to do with the google home and IFTTT apps. Very versatile due to the fact that it can work with Alexa, google home, IFTTT, stringify, homekit...almost endless opportunities with these lights I just wish they weren’t so expensive. But, I guess you get what you pay for. Would love to see more sales for these products because once you buy some you are easily addicted to buy more! Great product!

No more light switches
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This starter kit gives you everything you need to change 4 lights in your home from lights that require physical flicks of the switch to ones that will be turned on and off with your smart phone. Setting up the physical devices is REALLY easy - plug 'em in and turn 'em on. The Hub (which comes with the kit and is required to operate the lights) can ONLY be connected to your home network (and MUST be connected to your home network) with a physical ethernet cable (not your wifi). The Hub then communicates with your light bulbs through your wifi router to the light bulbs. The light bulbs that come with THIS kit are only white - not capable of changing colors but they can be dimmed through the app from barely on to bright white. So a couple of things that you should know/consider before you go down this route: 1) Again, the Hub MUST be connected to your home network through by an ether net connection. 2) Your lightbulbs must be in a place that receives a wifi signal from your network. 3) You've got to shop around and sort through a handful or two of smart phone apps to figure out which one(s) you want to use .... it's a little painful doing that - I've only used free ones and they tend to be a little clunky and not necessarily straight forward but you'll figure it out. 5) The smartphone apps generally let you "program" your lights to turn an and off at certain times - they're all a little different so if that's an important feature for you check the individual app capabilities. 4) Perhaps the MOST important consideration and something I haven't seen discussed anywhere else. You can no longer use the switch to operate the lights ... you've got to leave the lights turned on and ONLY USE THE APP to turn the lights on and off. So if your spouse or kids or guests don't have the app and/or aren't connected to your network you will be turning the lights on and off. Also, imagine that your TV room has 8 recessed lights in the ceiling all operated by a single on/off switch and you want to be able to turn off the two that are right above the TV providing glare. The good news is that you can do this. The bad news is that the only way to do this is to replace all 8 light bulbs with these $50/each wifi bulbs and program (easy) a scenario that turns the front two off and gives you dim control of the remaining 6 or something light that ... again, the switch must be left on so turn the lights off you'll need to use your smart phone ... no more walking into the room and hitting the light switch to turn them on.

Automation for lights Awesome idea
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as advertised. Can have your lights dim, turn on when you arrive home, turn off when you leave, without a word. Can schedule them to switch on while away. And off. Very very cool. Control in groups or individually, and thru Echo dot.
