It is a great feature to be able to dim lights that are hooked up to a regular light switch. Nice in a bedroom when you want them brighter to read and dim to relax. Once you buy this set you will be back for more. My entire house is equipped with these smart lights. If you really want to get lazy buy google home. Then you can just turn the lights with your voice.

Very practical applications in my home. I bought the starter kit on Black Friday, and then bought light packs for more rooms on Cyber Monday. I have routines to help wake up the kids and myself at different times each weekday with a 15 minute fade-in. I still use my alarm in case I'm just too tied to get up, but the light fade-in works for me so much better. I have light routines for dusk and for dawn that control which lights turn on and at what brightness. My wife synced her Apple ID to the hub so she can control the lights by name with Siri. She uses her voice every night to turn off the Master lights even though all our smart lights are scheduled to turn off automatically at midnight anyway. When you setup the lights, its actually rather fun naming each light so you can uniquely control each one. My son's light name is Boy. My daughter's is Girl. Others include desk, sink, back door, garage door, his, hers, couch, mantle, landing, even monkey (for the light with a monkey shade). Lights can be grouped into rooms. We have Retreat, Office, Kitchen, Living Room, Master, Blue room, Pink room, etc. We now have an Echo Dot synced to the hub. I love using Alexa to control whole rooms or individual lights. I even created an Alexa voice control where lights in the living room are set to dim when my wife and I are ready to watch TV with our wine in hand. For my birthday in May, I'm going to ask for some Hue in-wall light switch controls to control selected ceiling lights and chandeliers. Thank you Best Buy for offering such an attractive holiday promo that got me to try this stuff out. Ordering online was easy and I was so glad I could pick up my purchase at my Store.

Lights were easy to setup. Easy to fade brightness f lights using Hue app. Love the convenience of being able to control lights from anywhere.

The starter kit is a great deal, and an economical entry to Hue lights. Initial set up of the hub was easy, but the app took some figuring out. I’ve had them for weeks, but only figured out how to control them away from home last night. There are a lot of features with this lighting system, but be patient and you will figure it all out in time.

Took a few tries but the Hue app transferred my old 1.0 configuration over to the new 2.0 hub - I just kept trying and upgraded the app when prompted. The third try was a charm. All the old bulbs seamlessly ported over without any resets or special handling. I did have enter the new bulbs' serial numbers by hand but overall a good experience.

I bought a new Pixel 2 smartphone and got a Google Home Mini free as part of their initial promotion. Since the Phillips Hue works with voice commands with the Google Home products, thought I'd get this starter kit and it works really well. It took a long time for the firmware update when first setting it up. But once set up, it works great!

We recently moved into an older home that had no ceiling lights in its rooms. We resorted to using lamps but found that was a task turning three lamps on and off was daunting . So, we decided to buy the starter pack and the google home mini and use our voice instead. It works perfectly we without error. We went back and bought two more.

Just got these set up in bedroom and on front porch. Setup was easy. I was not aware the bridge has to be plugged into the router all the time. That kind of stinks, would be nice if it communicated wirelessly so I could place it anywhere in house. But seems to be working fine from the basement so far. Got this on sale, totally worth it.

Philips - Hue White A19 LED Starter Kit is great. I've looked at many smart home devices for lights and finally settled on Philips Hue. It seems a little pricier than some other brands, but in the long run it has better functionality and connectivity. it works seamlessly and easy with both Alexa and Google Home...and my cell phone app.

After I got my google home and mini speakers I wanted to test smart bulbs , they go along so well. Love that now I can dim the lights through the app without a dimming switch. I can also program and schedule the lights to turn on and off. I got this on black friday at a great price. happy with my purchase , I just hope the bulbs last.

Easy setup and subsequent integration with Alexa is what makes this an easy product to suggest. It did have to run a firmware update after I connected everything, but it was a fairly easy process. The app interface is fairly user friendly and after playing with it for a little bit I was able to get all the settings where I need them.

I've been using the hub-controlled light bulbs for a couple of years now. Everything is working as well as the day I set-up the lighting system. I have used the App, many times, to control the lights to automatically turn on/off when I was out of town. I have also added additional color light bulbs to the hub-controlled system and established a "Wake-up Routine", within the App, to gently wake me up by gradually intensifying the colored lights to mimic a sunrise in the morning-- fun, and it does work. One other feature that I like is that I can control the lights by verbal commands through Amazon's Alexa device, too.

I purchased this kit to go with our new Google Home. I was impressed with the ease of installation. I must warn you - Hue lighting is addictive. I've gone back and bought 3 additional bulbs and a switch. Highly recommend you start with this hub & bulb kit.

purchased the rope lights on Black Friday... sales associate pointed out sale in the starter kit which also included 4 white standard a19 bulbs for nearly same price. Installation and setup was super easy. Great lights and alot of fun to control. Nice addition for times away from the home... timers, auto on coming home,etc.
