Customers are impressed with the Hue White A19 Smart LED Bulb's ease of use, brightness, and compatibility with smart home systems like Alexa and Apple HomeKit. Many appreciate its affordability and the level of control it offers over lighting. While some users experienced connectivity issues or slight delays in response time, the positive feedback on ease of use and brightness outweighs these concerns. The quick and easy setup is also frequently praised.

My entire home is lit with these smart bulbs. Its pretty awesome. The only issue is that some bulbs a easier to connect to the bridge/hub than others. I didnt realize that at first, and one would connect and the other wouldnt so id return it and it became somewhat frustrating. If you cannot sync using the serial number try unplugging the hub and you should get it to work. Once you get it right, your nieces and nephews will be amazed.

These lights are great and I am replacing all my lights with them. I just need to train myself to leave the switches alone. I have motion sensors the control many areas such as bathrooms and other utility areas. My front porch light is setup on a time schedule now and when I get home my garage, hall and stair lights all turn on if after sunset. I also use these as night lights on the stairs and in the kids bathroom and hall. So many uses without the expense of color and about the same price as some dimmable LED builds without smart features. With home automation they can be used with motion sensors and are quick to respond.

This came free with the Black Friday Amazon Echo Plus deal. Has a good color temperature and works very nicely with the Echo Plus. Dims to any percentage of light that you would want. It's white only but it has made me want to try the Philips bulbs that do colors.

Great to have lights come on when I pull up to house. Works great with Siri and Amazon Echo. A lot cheaper than color bulbs and worth replacing all the lights in your home.

I've got a bunch of hue lights and now that I've come to the practical realization that I don't need the full color spectrum in every bulb in my home, these are the bulbs for me. They are bright, dim perfectly and are the right price to cover the non-gimmicky needs of my home.

I can't tell you how handy these are if you have children that are always leaving the lights on. Now instead of following them around I can just ask for them to be turned off, and unlike my children it listens. It pairs very well with the Amazon Echo.

Awesome bulbs. Bought on sale for $9.99. Installed 5 bulbs into my ceiling fan fixture in my great room. Bulbs are extremely bright at 100%. Hue control allows varying brightness via manual control or Alexa. Hue interface with Alexa is outstanding.

I recently decided to start building my "smart home" and began installing various devices. Philips Hue being the first. The colored bulbs are super expensive. So these standard bulbs, $15 are perfect. Especially if you are just testing things out to decide if you even want a light in that specific room. They do not change various shades of white, but they do dim. I cannot tell the difference between this bulb and my original incandescent bulb. It was a nice transition. These are slightly heavier due to the technology packed inside of them. But overall I own 4 of these and love them!

Best Lighting Solution for the Smart Home

I enjoy my gadgets, so for years I've wanted to achieve the "Smart Home." This past year the smart home has become much more attainable through products like the Hue lighting system. There are lighting alternatives, from wifi switches to lights without a hub, but none of them offer the blend of value, flexibility, and power of the Hue system.
You do need the Hue hub to control the bulb, though it will simply turn off and on with a normal light switch. But, once paired to the hub you simply name the light in the Hue app on your phone or tablet and you have full control of it. Just leave your light switch on and control the light through the app. The real power comes when you integrate it with either Siri or, preferably, Alexa (through an Echo or Echo Dot). From there everything is controlled by voice.
My usage:
- 4 Bulbs in the Kitchen
- 3 Bulbs in the Dining Room
- 2 Bulbs in the Stairway
- 2 Bulbs in the Entryway
- 2 Bulbs in the Office
- Additional Color bulbs in the master bedroom and living room
Combined with my Echo I can walk into my house and say, "Turn on downstairs lights." And, voila, all the downstairs lights. Just as importantly I can ask Alexa to dim them to a certain percentage of light, which is particularly nice. Combined with third party apps I issue commands like, "Turn on Wait," and all the lights in the house turn off except my entryway. Or, my favorite, "Turn on Show Time." All the downstairs lights turn off except my living room lamps which dim to 40%. Sweet.
If that seems like a lot of money to spend, keep in mind that these bulbs are LED and draw very little power and they designed to last over 20 years! They are more expensive than normal LED's, but you're paying for the functionality and smart bulbs without a hub are much spendier--if you're doing a whole house then these are the bulbs to get.
I did almost dock a star for reliability, as I have had two bulbs fail quickly. I have not had to deal with Philips on these, but Best Buy's return policy was very easy to deal with. I do believe those two were an anomoly--these bulbs don't glitch, they don't do anything weird, they've been flawless. App integration across multiple programs is always interesting to set up, but these bulbs have been awesome.

Best Buy has the best price I've been able to find on these bulbs. I've purchased at least a dozen of these and they're awesome. I've never lost connection and there aren't any delays with the hub.

I have about 11 bulbs currently set up around my apartment and love philips hue bulbs.
You start to feel like your paying $15 (at first) to be able to control a light with voice (I use the echo plus) but once you have a decent setup it's fun to see how convenient and easy it makes everyday tasks.
Like to have your lights dimmed in the evening no problem, like to turn on the radio and lights with a voice command easy. It's fun to see what you can do and make you house pop in bright hues.
Excellent product!

Although this one doesn't have the fancy color-changing options as the other bulbs, its still great to be able to add 'normal' lights to our HUE bridge and to be able to control from the app/smart home appliances makes it even better.

I own the whole setup, so this fit perfectly. Besides being able to dim which is reason enough to buy, you also get the ability to change the temperature (shade or color) of the white from yellow to blue and anything in between.

I had heard about issues with previous generations and was concerned about the durability of the connectivity. I have had minimal issues with the bulbs, except for WiFi issues, so not really tied to the bulb. This bulb doesn't change colors, but they dim and are programmable, so they are great in areas that benefit from those features. Very happy with them and have bought additional bulbs, including the color bulbs in addition to the remote wireless switches to control the bulbs without having to have possession of my phone.

I have these lights in every lamp in the house, with the use of Amazon Dot's and Echoes in the house, it's a great way for automation and monitoring energy usage. The lights are more expensive than the average light bulb, but these are dimmable in lamps that don't have that capability and it's a must around my house. These work with both Siri and Apple Home also, which I enjoy having setup on schedules. These are definitely worth the extra money when trying to convert your home into a smart house (but you need the Hue Smart Hub).

The family liked this technology so much we immediately went out and purchased more lights. Now, when we're ready to watch a movie, we just ask Alexa to turn off all the lights. Very easy to set up and work with the Echo.

There's not much to say. It's a smart bulb and it works as it should. Download the app and control the bulb from anywhere. You will need a hub If you want voice control, but you don't have to purchase the Philip's Hue hub.
