The Philips hue kit was really easy to set up, and there are a lot of 3rd party apps to get more out of then.

Amazing product! You can change your lights to any color you want, set alarms and timers. You can also add more lightbulbs to this kit. It is also very energy efficient and works perfectly on Android and Apple products.

The lights work well, much better than I thought they would. We have 3 lights and one light strip and ready to get more. The only reason it only got 4 stars is the price but in the long run I think that they will pay for themselves.

I purchased the Phillips Hue starter set for my difficult to shop for wife. She was hinting she wanted to repaint a few rooms, and I saw this as a better option. We've found the effect works best when the bulbs are placed in individual laps, rather then several in the same fixture. Our home feels more intimate using the various apps available to control mood and effect settings. I'm also excited to be cutting back on our power usage with the cost savings of LED bulbs. We already bought some of the LUX versions just to have remotely controlled dimmable lights in our kid's rooms.

The color scheme for me is off. That, or a bunch of my family members and girlfriend are blind. The lighting gave us headaches, the colors didn't match what we were configuring at all. The app UI is awesome, and the fact you can do this in a browser is super cool. I feel this is a great step in the smart home field, maybe next generation for me.

I use the HUE system for my whole house. I use android and apple devices to control them and I have no problems with responsivness. They work great, bright, and the color changing is really cool to have.

Easy set up and fun to change the feel in the room, just wish the greens were a little better...

the phillips hue is fun. i'm not a fan of having lights on (unless i have to read or write something) but with the hue i can create cool blacklight scenes, or deep reds. the only thing it doesn't do well is green. white light can be florescent white to a nice amber.. it's great. the app is ok, but there are other ones you can download that do a better job than the phillips one. i also like how you can set timers to turn lights on/off at certain times of the day. it's really darned cool, just... wish there was better greens.

I have had the hue system for over a year and love it. Works well, completely wireless and have never had an issue. It's very efficient and easy to use as well as set up!

Overall great product. Just needs to connect/reconnect to multiple devices easier.

Some of the coolest lights ever. Can control them with your phone in or away from the home. Can put them on a timer or set them to go on and off with the sunrise or sun set times automatically with 3rd party apps. No need to adjust the time day by day or worry that your set time will be 2 hours after dark. Get to create "scenes" for different moods or occasions. Can control all scenes independently or group scenes together and control them as on group. Very cool. For the party scene, you can set the phone or other mobile device to listen with its mic and the lights will flicker and change to the beat. As far as novelties go, this is a must have. Down side; very expensive. $50 per bulb, some of the hue friends are more expensive than that, stupid expensive. If the price was better (not Best Buy's fault, same price everywhere), I would have given 5 stars.

They function well and do everything as advertised. I would like to see a little more functionality from the app but they work well and always come on and shut off when I come and go with the Geofence set up. Still think they're a little over priced

I bought these bulbs using the excuse that I wanted to use them for creating a 'sunset' and 'sunrise' in the house in spite of what the outside light was doing... basic circadian rhythm stuff. They seem to be doing the job, but the controller app (iOS) could use some work for sure. I'd like to see a graphical layout of the schedules for the bulbs and perhaps a way to have the bulb resume the schedule ("scene") in the event that the bulb was turned off in the middle of it. They do seem to be constantly improving the software, at least. Also, the dimmest setting is still pretty bright when everything else is pitch black. Either way, these things are neat, but definitely not perfect.

I really like this kit, I love all the different scenes you can create.

I bought the starter kit a few weeks ago, and it was very easy to setup. It completely changes the look and feel of a room. The alarms are easy to setup and manage.

It is one of those technologies that are an instant improvement to your overall enjoyment of a small part of everyday life. Pretty great, once you've forgotten how much you paid. It's worth it, if you are into technology and like keeping up with life in the 21st century. Still waiting for my flying car.

Nice lights for my movie watching nights just wish more colors
