It allows you to connect your hue lights to your phone and to each other. Honestly, I don't know why that feature isn't built into the lights themselves and why the app can't directly control all the lights without a hub, but whatever.

Reliable and effective

Got it up and running hardwired to my Google mesh in about five minutes for extra stability. I long for a world where this soft of hub isnt necessary but as long as it is, this is as good as it gets.

Worth the Update

It was well worth the purchase...I'm finding it not only has that link (allowing me to do a lot more with my lights), but it also has been much more stable in performance than the original. Worth the money if you want to use the advanced features.

Easy to Install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once you get the bridge installed, you will be on your way to adding light bulbs, dimmers, motion sensors and a host of other products by Phillips Hue. Why? I haven't tried it thus far; from what I understand you can add up to fifty-light bulbs per one bridge. Keep your eyes open for Best Buy sales on Philp Hue Products.
