It's not totally obvious, but you do indeed need the Hue Bridge to control the bulbs. I absolutely love the Phillips Hue system and is flawless ambiance machine. Only thing is that I wish the Bridge didn't have to be physically connected to the router at all times.

This hub works great. I have it tucked away in the corner of the house in the furthest spot away from my wifi. It controls the living room lights. Works great. Lots of fun - pick it up.

This works good so far. It brings light to my living room at night and it is soothing. For those of you who crave soothing lights.

Must have accessory for hue lights. Much better value if bought in a "kit" but I needed one to give as a gift.

Good product at a good price to control my smart lights.

I installed the base and two extensions along the back wall at the ceiling level of my "movie room." Gives great light for viewing movies, and relaxing. It took a little while to get it all working with the app through my Wi-Fi and now it's great.

I wanted to get into some wifi bulbs and Phillips seemed to be the way to go. I got a better deal buying the pieces separately so i had to have the hub! Works great.

I love being able to connect all the lights. And for $3.99 I was able to use a app to have the lights flash to a music

This new bridge in my opinion is pretty much the same as the old one the only difference is it can take Siri commands. It's pretty cool though that you can control your lights with Siri. Siri does get some getting used to for the commands and there's a bit of a learning curve

Very much needed don’t forget to purchase this very important piece of equipment without it you’ll be in trouble

I am so pleased that I have started the teansformation into the smart home world...,and it all began with the Phillips Hue lighting system! It’s tge absolute best!

Be advised, this bridge is needed to sync all Hue devices. I recommend getting this product in a bundle and not a stand alone item. You will save $$$

If you really want you Hue lights to do everything capable of they're doing then this is a must have. Along with the app the colors are almost limitless.

The bridge can only hold 60? Lights, and accessories. So if you use more in you’re house you’ll need a second one!

I already have this product and I am very happy with how many things I can do within my own home. This item was purchased for a friend who wants to become smarter.

Good reliable connection to Philips bulbs, lightstrips, portable smart lights like Hue Go. I have not yet tested the Iris or the Bloom. Good integration with Samsung SmartThings and Amazon Echo. Software can be better to include animated scenes like other smart app lights.
