Necessary for Philips LEDs

The round hue bridge is the old model. To work properly one must sign in on line and start the app.

Dont like the fact it has to plug into router

I didn't think it was a big deal but is another added expense. What I don't like about this is unless I set it up wrong this has to be plugged directly into a router. I would think in this day and age this should be able to connect via wifi and should not have to take up one of the few router ports available in a household. Does what it is supposed to do but don't like having it on my home office desk for lights that are in my kids room

Nice gadget

Your lights will sync with your computer but you need the bridge for them to sync with your television. It’s pretty cool to watch movies on the pc and have the lights sync to the movie mood. This is cheaper than the bridge but does not give all the bells and whistles like the bridge.
