Hard to install. Needed a hardware bridge
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thought it was a great deal with 3 lights and a Switch. Had to install Philips bridge, which was an unexpected step. Colors are OK. Would not recommend though.

Disappointing. Loses communication frequently
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved these lights for the first couple of months. Now, Alexa FREQUENTLY loses communication and I have to "reset" the bridge. I used to enjoy walking into our Family room and saying, "Alexa, turn on the lights." More often than not, her reply is, "I can't locate Family room Hue Lights." I have to go upstairs, press the button on the bridge, and then it works. More trouble than just flipping the &*^%$# light switch.

World of Color
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the way this starter kit comes with everything to get you started in the world of Philips Hue. Easy to set up and the app is great once you learn how to navigate it. Have all my lights set up on routines with different scenes. Only downside is the price.

Missed it by that much
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The light kit came missing pieces. Best Buy was great about taking care of it. Now the old bridge will not transfer to the new bridge. I have other hue products, this one has not been good.

Mostly great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These lights are beautiful while they work, but I've had two out of about ten go bad in under five years. The white one is cheap enough for me to just write off, but a $60 light bulb that doesn't dies after five years is disappointing.

Bargain on a Starter Kit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This starter was a really great deal considering that most starter kits come with 4 bulbs and a hub, 2 bulbs and a hub or 1 bulb and a switch. This kit coming with 3 bulbs, a hub and switch is a great variation. Top that with the black friday deal and this is less than 10 bucks more than the 2 white bulb starter kit that doesn't even include a switch. Plus it's color! If you're looking to start somewhere with Philips Hue I'd say this is the perfect opportunity to get some of the higher end products at a deal. Otherwise you're going to pay more for white bulbs or white ambiance if you're lucky and still won't be getting the full experience of what Hue has to offer.

Great Value Starter Kit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this kit to see if I would be interested in smart lighting. It was a good value at $120, but would pass at the MRSP of $200. While the Hue products are all a bit on the pricey side, this starter set is a good value, bundling 3 color lightbulbs ($150 MSRP alone), a bridge (required to use Hue products, $60 MSRP) and a dimmer switch remote (MSRP $25). The total cost is bought separately is $235! I've purchased a couple more of these kits just to get more bulbs and switches.

Easy start to home automation!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A perfect introduction to smart home lighting that WON'T confuse the tech illiterate. Got some older people in your life that don't know how to use their "dumb phone"? No problem! The wireless light switch lets you put that puppy anywhere, and keep things "on/off" simple for them, while still allowing advanced control and customization from the app, and hub. 3 lights lets you take care of most rooms as well. A perfect way to start or supplement your smart home!

Great lights
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these before purchasing google home mini's and was happy with the purchase. Now being able to use voice commands to control the lights it is even better.

Too expensive to be so unreliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After working for months, the home hub was no longer able to reach any of the bulbs. With no troubleshooting options in the app, I had to factory reset the hub in hopes of correcting the situation. The hub then refused to locate *any* of my lightbulbs, forcing me to get each bulb out of their sockets throughout the house, one at a time, to get the serial number and manually type it in. That was no guarantee the hub would find the light bulb. As I write this review I have multiple bulbs that I can no longer control. Philips Hue is supposed to be the premiere smart light solution. This is absolutely not my experience and will not look to them for future smart home improvements.

Not worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the starter kit with 3 bulbs last year, 2 of the 3 bulbs are dead! Apparently if you have them in recessed lighting or on a dimmer switch you void your warranty. Thanks phillips for the support. I will return my light strip that I just got for Christmas thanks to the wonderful support of your product!
