Product arrived packaged well within 2 days of ordering. We were looking to add light to a rather dark area of our backyard patio. We already had 5 Outdoor Hue lights (max for each power source), so we wanted to stick with Hue for color and brightness consistency as well as control/programming. I mounted the light strip directly onto a roof soffit just behind the facia lip to conceal it from most view angles. The 16' light strip requires mounting clips to secure the lights. To keep the strip taute, I mounted all 34 clips. After marking where I wanted one end of the strip, I marked off 32 spots roughly 5.5" apart and left the last clip for the end of the install. I drilled pilot holes at each mark and then installed each clip with the provided screws. Once the clips were installed, mounting the light strip was simple. The total install time was about 30 minutes. The downside of this strip is that it has a second power controller that has to be included in your installation plans.

I use the interior strip lights for work all the time and I’m a huge fan-the exterior version is a world of difference. They are crazy bright, ok for wet areas and seem exceptionally well made. Unfortunately you cannot cut them to size.

Not the least expensive option available but if you're already invested in a Hue setup you can't go wrong with adding these to highlight your outdoor features. Versatile as a straight line or flexible path the lightstrip bends to meet your needs. The included mounting clips are an easy way to hang the strip up. We mounted the clips to wood but it would be nice if outdoor mounting strips were also included as another option. We used three strips to light each row of our tiered garden and it looks fantastic!

Plassed lights outside. Very bright and gave a great glow on the deck at night. A bit expensive because I got the longer length.

Bought the 16ft, and the 6.5ft. to trim my back porch. Light look and perform great, but it is a little irritating looking at about 5 inches of unlit tubing (3inches on the 16ft. and 2inches I’m the 6.5ft.. in Hue’s defense I must say, I measured the lights and the length of light is as stated, it just has extra inches of tubing. Besides this my only other issue would be the ability to extend the lights.

I added to my Hue lighting assortment the Hue Outdoor Light Strip. The sales associate was so nice to look for an additional discount online and applied an additional off. The light was easy to install as are all of the Hue lights. Love what it does to the patio deck. Can’t wait to see it at night.

So easy to install! All you need is a screwdriver and a place to put it if you already have a hue system, and if it's too far away from the hue box just install another hue bulb in between to act as a link. Love the colors.

Love the way my patio looks with this light strip. It almost looks like a dance floor! The only improvement I would make is to provide some kind of clear fasteners to hold the light strip in place. The adhesive tape doesn’t stay on long term once the elements get to it.

The light from the outdoor Hue light strips is incredible. They are much brighter than the indoor version. Also they are wrapped in a silicone, so the light they give off is consistent across the entire strip.

This is my go to product very bright great color mixing.If you want more options using hue get the light DJ app.

This is a great product however you cannot customize the length. I wish you could connect power and end, I placed these along my house for my driveway.

I used this and the longer one for a diy neon sign for the holiday. My wife loved it.

Setup was relatively easy. Light is way brighter than the indoor strips. You don't need to hide the strip out of view like you do the indoor ones. It has a white frosted coating which diffuses the light well. Very impressed!

Grabbed this in the store as I was still on Philips' pre-order list in the Fall. I already own their outdoor Hue products in my Berlin home so I was more than ready for them in the States. The quality is excellent - these outdoor strips have a weight and thickness to them that makes easy to install on fences or simply on the ground as a path light. They come with anchors, however as I laid a number of these on some of my garden fencing for the holidays I didn't need them. I simply rested them on top of 6 foot high fence sections, connected them to my already existing power supplies as I have Hue Lily's for some of my trees (keep in mind, you cannot share power supply units with other Hue Outdoor products as these must use the power bricks they come with, one for each lightstrip), then added them to the Hue app and my HomeKit setup. Done. Unlike the indoor light strips, these diffuse the light for a consistent light across the entire strip, which personally is preferable. The color range is on par with Hue's current color - I was able to match the color of the traditional amber incandescent copper wire low voltage lighting on the wreaths which made the LED lighting match perfectly to a more traditional light (I only used 7% brightness as these are very bright). Even with the extreme cold in NY this winter and heavy winds, they did not fall once or fail, which surprised me as we had a week of record lows. I plan on moving the strips to another outdoor area to act as path lights. Some have asked about indoor use - I don't see why you couldn't. They should work perfectly indoors and I plan on replacing my current indoor light strips with these models as the lighting is much better in my opinion.

I am very pleased with the Philips - Hue White and Color Ambiance Outdoor 5m Lightstrip. I had an area at the rear of my house which is frequently used but which had been poorly lit. Not only is this light strip plenty bright to effectively light a previously very dark walkway, it does so with exceptional flare. Being able to set up a routine to have the strip automatically turn on exactly in sync with sunset and turn off with sunrise is awesome, as well as how informative it can be in being able to set up various accent colors to signify changes in weather, like when with the addition of using IFTTT, the Weather Undergound and the Hue app to turn the lights blue signifying the arrival of snow. If I could change the strip in any way, I would redesign it to allow for simultaneous multi-color display so that variable colors could be displayed in motion along the strip rather than only changing color by color along the entire length of the strip. Great product otherwise. Pricey but exceptionally well manufactured and easy to install.

This light was easier to install than I was expecting it to be. I installed it on my front porch under the top railing using the mounting clips that were provided. It took less than 10 minutes to install and it feels quite secure to the railing (I used 5 clips to secure it to the rail). I had to run an extension cord to the outlet. The lights seem very good quality and appear as though they'll survive all kinds of weather.

While this is rated for outdoor applications I used it inside. I mounted this behind the headboard of my bed to create a nice glow emanating from the edges. The frosted cover creates a nice evenly diffused light while also being flexible enough to wrap around the corners of the headboard. Having all the colors of the rainbow at your beck and call is also a nice touch. Get it!

Prior to owning any Hue products I chose Lifx because they we're cheaper, didn't require a hub, and had some better native software features over Hue. For 2 months I owned the Lifx Beam Kit and two A19 color bulbs. I can honestly say they are good when they worked...when they worked. After many firmaware/ connectivity issues and an unresponsive customer service ( literally a month to respond back ), I gave up and spent the extra to get Hue products and I'd never go back. In terms of Hue, you have to be able to overcome the fact they are more expensive and the setup costs of getting the required hub. However, you'll soon learn that the cost is worth in order to acquire great connection stability and well built products. I bought the Outdoor Light Strip to use indoor for my room, being on the moulding on my wall. The design is well thought out and flexible to contour corners. The small plastic brackets supplied can be screwed into a wall or object which the strip can be set into and held secure. This is great for indoor where theres more chance to physically move the long light strip on accident. In terms of connectivity, I use Hue with Homekit and pairs/ works exceptionally well, including a fast response from my Homepod. For google assistant/ google home, Hue responds just as quickly. In contrast, Lifx would have a long delay before understanding the command from google due to how the information passes through their cloud platform. Due to the robust build and weatherproofing, I expect the lightsrip to last a long time. One thing to not is that the coating on the plastic housing picks up lint and little things very easy. Make sure you give it a little wipe down after application. I can imagine no one would care for outdoor use, but indoor it is noticeable. For the foreseeable future, I see myself sticking with Hue. Lifx would have to majorly update their firmware/ product philosophy to bring me back.

this truly is amazing the color is clean and bright that it almost doesn't look real. I use this light in my kitchen under my lower cabinets i feel safe knowing if the light gets wet its fine. well constructed and the little mounts that come with it allow for easy shaping.
