It provides a reasonable version of the Tesla/Edison style wacky filament bulbs, with a golden light, and a slightly burnt appearance. The light from LEDs is very even in frequency, so if you have experience with real filament bulbs like this, you'll know just from the stability that it isn't one. But, it has the look, and it's dimmable, and it can be added to the Hue app on your bridge to work with Homekit and Siri. I wish the bottom range of it's brightness went a little further down, so it was a little better for nightlight purposes.

I was not convinced about these bulbs, but i tried using the standard hue lights and standard led in our outdoor light fixtures and it just didn’t look right. Once i put these fancy style bulbs in, it was obvious this is the right decision. Highly recommend!

Pros: does exactly what's expected as part of the hue + homekit ecosystem, every bit as functional and reliable and the standard hue bulbs, great filament design
Cons: I'm not a huge fan of the orange filament itself...it's on most led bulbs of this type but it's a bit of an eyesore and takes away from the aesthetic

Nice Smart-Light, Limited with Bluetooth

This was my first smart home device purchase and it's been good so far. I bought it because I wanted a smart light that had the retro "Edison" filament style bulb – there are cheaper brands out there with a similar design, but this is the only one I found at the time of purchase to have the bluetooth hub-less option.
The light is a very warm yellow glow and it can reach both very high and low brightness for almost any scene.
Originally, I wanted a smart light for the "sunrise-style" dimming light alarm feature it has, which works perfectly for easing me awake more naturally before a sound alarm. Using that feature can be a bit cumbersome though, as it has to be set manually through the Hue Bluetooth app every single time if used via bluetooth connection only.
I have not yet purchased a "hub," which seriously limits the amount of things I can do with this bulb since I do not use Google or Alexa-powered smart devices in my home. For instance:
–I cannot add the bulb to Apple Homekit without a hub, so there is no way to use Siri to control it or set automations
–The light alarm must be set manually through the app every time, even if you maintain a constant bluetooth connection with it all day
–The Hue Bluetooth App completely omits any "automation" options you get with a hub or even the option to use Siri shortcuts, so I can't even set a schedule or reoccurring event for turning the lights on or off or for special scenes
Eventually if I decide to expand my smart-lighting through Hue, I may invest in a hub to be able to use Homekit/Siri commands. Until then, I will have to do everything manually through the Hue Bluetooth App, which is slightly inconvenient for the price you pay for this.

These little bulbs are fragile but once you get them working they are fun. The dimming is smooth from about 3-5% all the way to about 95%. This is a great range for a consumer product. The color is nice and warm.
Overall this is better than using another HomeKit dimmer with a "dimmable" filament LED. The controls and dimming range are far superior to the alternative.

Overall beautiful bulbs. I love the look but overall, I wish they were brighter. Purchased them with the understanding that they were dimmer than the usual Hue bulbs but wanted that incandescent look. These would be absolute winners if they were brighter.

Replaced a similar non smart bulb with these and you can’t see the difference except for a slight difference in the color of the actual glass of the bulb. Otherwise, super nice and elegant looking.

These are nice looking bulbs when you need one for an exposed-bulb look. However, I find the GE bulbs to be more Google-friendly (they do not seem to make this type of bulb). If you have the Hue Hub you might have a different experience. I did not want to buy yet another appliance to make three bulbs work. They occasionally freak out, but I've learned to live with it.

I've used Hue lighting for several years and I am glad to see the expansion the line. This light is used on my porch. I use the Hue app to set a schedule for on/off as well as the brightness too. The outdoor lights are next on my list!

These are the only Edison bulbs that I’ve found that actually have a warm light. Some have said they’re yellow, but I haven’t found that. They’re warm and plenty bright enough. They work great with Alexa, too.

This bulb was one of the few available on the shelves in February 2021 from Phillips Hue. I find the light to be a little weak at 100% brightness and the color to be suspect. Its not natural at all. Where it does well is nearly fully dimmed. At 5% it mimics a little candle in light output which can be nice.

This bulb puts off a great looking light, kind of a warm looking orange color. We put 8 in over our dining room table and it looks terrific! Also, having Alexa turn them on and off adds to the pleasure!
