The lights are great with many different colors to set to. The blue/ gree color is a little less vibrant then I expected but all other shades are great. There are other free apps to download, one that watches your tv and changes the lights to the scene on tv. It's really cool. It was very easy to set up and sync up all the lights to my iPhone. It's a little pricey but worth it.

Everything needed to start your color lighting experience. Good app to control the lights and very easy to set up. The only down side is that these bulbs are pretty expensive but the performance is very good and they are efficient so perhaps that offsets some of the cost.

Been saving up for quite awhile to get these but man am I glad I did. These lights are amazing with tons of apps (some better than others of course) that can truly make your lights do almost any color imaginable plus Hue Disco tends to really impress guests. Love them!

Easy Install and Great for Parties

Pros:
Easy install. Comes with: (3) light bulbs, (1) ethernet hub for the bulbs, (1) ethernet cable, (1) power cable for the hub. Screw in each light bulb, plug in the hub to the router, connect to app and you're set. You can use them as a regular light bulb, if you wish, by operating the light switch. Design great party backgrounds and use fun apps for the holidays.
Cons:
Hard to connect with Amazon Echo until it updates. Had to do a work around with the Wink app, even then it was very tricky.

Happy with them so far. Only bug I've ran into is that our Echo/Alexa doesn't seem to be working on this newer 2.0 bridge. I have been trying to get someones attention to it but so far my efforts are being met with limited success.
5 stars when you fix the Alexa integration. :)

These lights are expensive, but once you get past the sticker shock, you will see what they have in store. There are an endless amount of colors you can pick from, and best of all, with this model you can control the lights from Siri via HomeKit.

We have 15 Hue bulbs installed in our 1,067 sqft 2-bedroom apartment and we do not regret our investment at all. We own a combination of Br-30 (2 for track lights) and A-19 style bulbs (13 total) and have been using Philips Hue since the first generation. What you do with these lights is only limited by your imagination. Want to turn your living room into a dance floor with strobe lights? There's an app for that. How about syncing them with your Nest cam so they turn off when you are away, but turns on when someone enters your home? There's also an app / hardware link for that too. You can even sync certain television shows with Hue lights so that the ambient lighting oscillates with different scenes in your shows (SyFy Channel has an app specifically for this). As I mentioned, what you do with these lights is only limited by your imagination. I can see myself buying at least 50 bulbs when we move into a single family home.
A note on gen 1 Hue users who recently upgraded their Hue iOS app. You will experience intermittent "out of home connection", which can be incredibly annoying. It seems like the software developer at Philips did not fully integrate a seamless support for the gen 1 bridge when they wrote their new replacement app. I recently upgraded to the square style gen 2 bridge and the problem went away. I upgraded primarily to the gen 2 bridge for HomeKit integration. While not perfect, the HomeKit voice commands is pretty neat. Nothing like telling Siri to turn on / off your lights, room or set specific scene simply by talking to your phone :). And if you have a gen 4 Apple TV with iOS 10 and the latest version of tv OS, HomeKit integration just got consolidated and a little easier! (Of course, you can still control your lights over the internet at the Meet Hue portal). Overall, at $50 a bulb (was $60 when it first hit the shelves), you're looking at quite the investment and that is the only drawback. If you can afford it and want to smartify your home, do it!

Excellent Smart Lighting System

I am enjoying getting into the home automation scene. This smart lighting system is very easy to setup and the app is easy to use. The color bulbs are nice, but the primary reason I wanted this system was that it supported other smart bulbs. It took a minute for me to figure out how to access it outside of my home network. Now that I have access to my lighting system from anywhere I can remotely turn on or off my lights or setup a daily or weekend routine to have my lights turn on automatically.

Comes with the newer style hub with all the colors you can think of. It would be great if Philips would incorporate better apps with the system but you can download them. My one complaint with this product is that its so expensive but its great for holidays such as Halloween/Christmas.

Can't Live Without It

I bought the Phillips Hue colored light kit and multiple white bulbs to work with the kit. I use it with my Alexa. I love it so much I bought one for my parents, too. I love that I never have to turn the light switch on again. I just say, "Alexa, turn on the bedroom light" and it does. It's absolutely wonderful. The light is bright and very dependable. You can play with the colors to set the mood. I have been using them for a year and have had no problems. I don't think I can live without these bulbs or at least I don't want too! I love, love, love them!

I've been impressed so far by upgrading some of my interior lights to these. The installation process was quick. The location where the hub is connected to my modem is in a corner of my house. Two of the the lights were placed in my bedroom, which is in the complete opposite corner of my house. There has not been any connectivity issues with controlling the lights with the app, despite the distance away from the hub.
The second generation of these lights, with the ability to control the lights with Siri (HomeLink), is very cool! I will be adding more to my collection soon.

I enjoy the Hue System and specifically became interested once the SciFi show, Twelve Monkeys started playing on their channel, it's got a preprogrammed sync to the show and it's amazing to have it in unison with the Directors and Producers on screen vision.
I hope for more collabs between studios and networks and Hue and it also allows me to add color where I wouldn't have otherwise fathomed it possible. I bought some cheaper alternatives for my work area and clearly like the Philips best of all!

Ok, I've wanted these for a while, and I finally caved in and decked out my whole apartment. The simple fact that I can ask Siri from any of my devices AND EVEN MY WATCH is straight up Jetsons $h?@! I even bought the light strip for under my bed and behind my wall mounted tv.
Easy to install. Lost Internet the other day for a few hours, and they still work. My only gripes:
The native Hue app is horrible. I use Huemote almost exclusively.
The features such as geofencing hardly ever work, and setting the lights from abroad hasn't worked for me yet.
The price. $60 per bulb seems steep to me. Especially when needing to buy more than two. There should be a value three pack available without the bridge for sure.
I'm looking for other creative places to put another couple strip lights :)

These bulbs work great! Easy to setup and the app works well (ignore the low star rating). Alexa integration works, but is a little tough and needs refinement. The reds, blues and whites are spot on but greens are off (Gen 3 fixed this I'm told). The hub does have some range limits, so you'll need to buy two if you have a larger house or are going through multiple floors. Overall I'm happy.

Great Automated Lighting System

The Hue system (which was recently updated to 2.0) offers a really easy step into automated lighting. There are a lot of possibilities with this system depending on how much you want to invest into adding on additional lights or purchasing apps beyond the free Philips Hue app, all of which make the customization feel ripe with potential. The system is easy to set-up and use even if you're not a particularly tech-savy individual. Highly recommended.

Although this product is pricey there is no comparable produce that adds the functionality, features, and integration of these lights. I can integrate them with my home automation and remotes so that they with colors and states (on/off) with the normal routines for changing sources and channels on my Logitech remote system. I love the ability to share scenes as well. Highly recommend for those in the market for this type of device.
