The Hue Lightstrips Plus improve upon the previous generation's hardware in every way that matters. With the addition of the white LED to the existing RGB LEDs the strips can finally produce a myriad of true white light that can range from warm white (like regular incandescent bulbs) to crisp cool white light (like LED or florescent bulbs) as opposed to the previous generation's strips that could only yield a light greenish-ish "white" light. Perhaps my favorite change is the fact that the Plus strips are immensely brighter than their predecessors. I've used my new Plus Strips as upward ceiling facing recessed lighting and they are finally a viable option to illumining the whole room without the need for additional lamps. There previous generation's 120 lumens strips simply can not shine like the new 1600 lumens strips are able to. As far as the RGB LEDs on the strips they are just as responsive and vibrant as before, if not more so thanks to the major increase in lumens. In my opinion they seem like they can more accurately reproduce the colors you choose via the Hue app due to the addition of the white LED. The new ability to extend the Plus Strips up to 33 ft. is also a very welcomed addition as the strips can be used in more applications without the complicated need for additional power adaptors for every 6ft of strip (the maximum length of the old strips.) All in all I am extremely pleased with my new addition to my Phillips Hue collection.

I was told in the store that these lights could be controlled via an app and they are not. It's hard to figure out how to work with them. This was a gift for my daughter for her room, and it's still sitting in the box because she couldn't figure out how they work. A waste of money.

So this small strip of lights has to be plugged in to use so you need a whole bunch of other sold separately parts to get it to work the way you would like it to work & the price is way to high for what you get. Very disappointed in this purchase.

Just ok. Nothing exceptional, just ok to use. Not sure how much I will use.

The tape has barely any stick to it. Wouldn’t recommend

Good lights but not able to change colors based on sounds heard from playing music

This product worked great but a 1ft of the 3ft went out within the first week so I returned it.

More expensive than other market products. Required Philips hub to operate

Worked well until half the strip stopped turning blue. Half blue, half is now green. Exchanging

I have two lightstrips and the colors don’t match each other. Besides that I love them.

They need to advertise more that this requires a hub to work properly.

It was kind of experience and need to buy another device to use the app.

How to do it yourself I bought one of these and it definitely was not 6.6 ft it didn't even have all the instructions someone must have bought it and returned it and I end up buying it right off the shelf they did not take it back

Honestly, as an elite plus member my advice to you is to spend your money elsewhere. Excellent product, just the retailer itself has no real perks to offer you. I've spent thousands of dollars at this company and got hung up on the phone with a representative while trying to order a product they failed to notify is back in stock. Be smarter than me, take your business elsewhere. I actually love these lights, bought them a day before they offered them on sale. After I tried to go in and buy the combo sale they did, they told me to just return the whole purchase, create a new charge for the combo and get it like that. One other example of how bestbuy doesn't care about your convenience but theirs

All Hue lights are great quality but they are absurdly expensive.

I placed a strip of these on the back of my 65" TV and in just a few days, the adhesive lost it's grip. They're also a little pricey IMO. Returned to BB and found a better sticking solution, not perfect but it is better. YMMV!

I specifically researched that the product can be used independently of any other system. In order to use the only cool function which is to be able to control it from your phone you much have the base system. I had to return.
