Very easy to extend Hue light strips. My only wish would be that in future versions that Philips makes cutting more flexible so that cut pieces can be re-used and that cables to join these could also be purchased.

As my summary implies this is a great addition to your light strip. I don't recommend cutting it your light strips even though they have cut marks. These are expensive and if you want to reattach the cut off portion you'll need a soder gun to reattach.

I have a 65" 4K that I put this on. But the initial 2M one was too short, so I needed this extension. but then the extension made it too long... So I had to cut it, which hurt tbh, and these don't look like they can easily be re attached when cut... Looks and works great, but man It hurt cutting it. that was like $10 wasted

Needed a couple more feet for bias lighting behind the tv. I needed about 2' more this gave me 3.3'. Rest got cut off and thrown away, but I finished the lighting project. Love the Hue system...

I installed these lights under my cabinets and am very happy with the result. They are bright enough to light the countertop at night was well as light up the back splash. The color options are endless, so you can pick one that matches the room. There are 3rd party extension cables, splitters, and cut end connectors available online. These will void any warranties on the Hue, but are required for some projects. Couple negatives: The strips do not allow for placement on any sharp corners as they are not flexible enough. The spacing between spots to cut the strips is too large. It makes it difficult to get precise lengths as the "cut here" symbols are about a foot apart.

Good, but look for defective strips

I have purchased a few of these extension kits so far, and I have setup most of them. The extension kits work as the instructions indicate they should. I was able to add one or more of these strips to the main Lightstrip Plus strand. Everything easily connects together, and there are marks around every 12 inches that allow you to shorten the strip if needed. After setting everything up, I would have given the product four stars due to how easy it was to add these strips into the primary lights (I took off a star due to the lack of places I can install these strips because the strips do not bend side to side much at all). I did some basic testing after the install, and everything appeared to be working perfectly. However, a short time after the install, I started playing around with the lights more on Halloween with my kids. What I discovered was that two of my extension strips were defective. I discovered the problem as I started testing the various hues of each color available in the Hue App. As the lights changed, I realized that there was about a 12" section on each extension strip that did not match the rest of the lights on that strip when changed to certain colors. This was noticed on strips that had not been cut, or shorted in any way. I have included pictures of the lights to help you see what I mean. The issue was only noticeable when selecting the light colors seen in the photos. Any other color, and the lights matched the rest of the Lightstrip Plus perfectly. I ended up taking the two defective extension strips back to Best Buy, which they returned without a hassle. I bought these the day they were first available in the store, so maybe there was a slight production issues with some of these in the beginning. The rest of my extension strips seem to work fine. However, because of my experience with the two I returned, make sure you test out all possible colors by using the Hue App (or something similar) in order to be sure you have a fully functioning extension strip.
