    I tried the first generation of this product and it wasn’t good. Couldn’t get it to connect and work with my TV. This new one was fast and easy to connect. Works great! The Hue app has a single tab for “sync” which makes it easy to use. So far so good!

    This is definitely an upgrade from the previous version. The last one I had would frequently lose connection from my amplifier, which handles both audio and video. This version works so much better with my amplifier. It’s extremely responsive to what’s going on the screen and makes movie watching very fun.

    Works great until you try to use your xbox series x on 120hz. I literally have an 8k HDMI cable made for the speed and what not but it glitches out and doesn't work in 120hz through the hue sync.

    The 8K Philips Hue Sync Box is pretty much an improvement all around vs the 1st gen unit. The 8K sync box works just as seemlesly as it’s predecessor, and of course now has the ability to sync @ 4K/120hz. Cost as always is higher than we’d all like (it is after all a Phillips Hue product), but it does deliver on its specs. If you already have Hue lights and/or are upgrading from gen 1 like me I would definitely recommend. If your starting from square one there are more economical options out there…but you of course you do get what you pay for.

    Had the prior sync box which had issues with some resolutions and playback formats causing the tv not to display content. this sync box works great, no issues on any resolution, and love the colors and lights.

    Glad to see HDMI 2.1 support. Given though, this only is needed on TV's that support this feature, it may not be a necessary upgrade over the 1st gen unit.

    Absolutely love it. It works so much better than the old 4K version. I had issues with the old one on a 4k setup and the picture would occasionally drop out. That issue is long gone now.
