Very happy with my purchase. Fun to be able to change the colors to what we like only problem with this is I thought that it would automatically change with my TV through the application like advertised in video, but to get it to sync to your TV with color changes you will have to spend another $230 to get the Phillip's Hue Play HDMI Sync Box. Other than that great purchase.

These work well with the hue play box. But for some reason they make cracking sounds every now and then. I suspect something is straining from heat expansion as they get hot. A minor annoyance, but one worth noting as these are not cheap, for the money I’d expect better. It should be noted the hue sync app is pretty poor. (Used for syncing Hue lights with av)

Once I read about the sync box I knew I needed these for my man cave. They work amazing and we’re simple to set up and add to my group. Adds so much to a movie! Philips products are expensive but there really isn’t anything better on the market!!

I live in an apartment, and have these installed in my living room. I use the Hue Bridge (most current as of the day of this review) and on the Hue app on an Apple iPhone Xs running iOS 12.2. They are incorporated into Apple HomeKit. Regarding accessories, I use a Hue Tap Switch. I've owned these for a bit over a month. TOTALLY love them. I have both of them near a wall, pointed towards the ceiling, to provide diffused light into the room. Setup takes <1 minute, and work seamlessly and unproblematically like all other Hue products. They work perfectly with Siri. They work with other Hue light Scenes in the room that are pre-programmed, such as Savanna and Arctic. I made my own Scenes as well, to illuminate the room in different colors based on my mood and/or activities (relaxing, reading, tv, movies, gaming, meditating, etc.). Choosing the colors you want is SO much fun!

Great product to add ambience to your media room or gaming location. We have two sets of these and have added in a third light on both sets. Great color and adds great ambience to movies etc. Easy to set up.

I love these lights. I have them set up behind my TV aiming at the wall, and they create a great ambience of mood lighting. They are decently bright and still holding up very well.

This light adds an incredible ambiance to the space as it illuminates around the tv. Easy to mount and definitely worth the price. I am thinking about getting another kit to give it even more life around the 85 inch TV I have. :)

I use these for accent lighting behind my monitor. They do look nice and subtle, but for the price/size/etc, I thought they'd be brighter. If you're looking for just accent lighting, these are fine, but if you want something more....useful, I'd just use a 2nd-gen Hue lightstrip instead. Much cheaper and MUCH more light, so you can do a lot more with it.

I mounted them on the back of my TV and love how they came out are brighter than I initially thought the picture online don’t do them justice. They are small but re bright. All the hue profits are great.

I bought this for accent lighting behind my TV. They work great and they are adjustable so that you can use them in multiple different ways. You have to have a Hue bridge and the Hue app to use them but setup and connect was very simple.

These are really cool! Adds some nice lighting behind my TV. Only Con is that sometimes they refuse to connect to the app so you have to unplug the power cables and plug them back in

I bought these lights for backlighting to my TV. They're a little on the expensive side for lights, but they're versatile both in mounting options and custom lighting control. In the short time I've owned them I have already used them to brighten the room in the evening, effective backlighting while watching movies, and as nightlights. I already owned a number of Hue lightbulbs and the hub. I trust Hue's quality from my prior experience. I'm starting to dabble in present configurations and custom routines through my Alexa devices which I'm certain will only increase my feelings of contentment. Over time I plan to add additional lighting options throughout the house and they'll all be Hues.

    Beware of Philips Marketing

The units themselves work great. The setup and pairing was easy. The colors are fantastic. Everything you would expect from a Philips Hue product. But... Do not be fooled by their marketing. They do not easily sync with the content on your TV. You'll need Philips Hue Sync running on a PC. Once this is installed, Philips expects you to either connect an HDMI cable or cast the content from your PC to your TV. Only then will the lights sync with your TV. In the age of the streaming device and smart TV, this is not a good solution. I'm still going to keep the units, as I hope Philips will introduce an installed application for my Fire TV or other smart device to provide better content sync. I've also had no luck getting these lights to sync with my Sonos home speakers.

I've read for years about how bias lighting can make your tv look better and reduce strain on eyes but never pulled the plug on buying a light strip to stick to the back of the tv or placing a lamp behind it. I believe these are really expensive for what they are and I'm not sure the quality matches the price (it's just plastic with a slight rubbery back). Since I got Hue lights for my daughters room though I wanted one lighting system and liked the flexibility of these lights. They come with a couple mounting brackets so you can mount them in different ways or just lay them on a table. I currently have them on shelves next to my tv pointing behind it so they aren't mounted directly to my OLED tv. They both create a nice diffused lighting effect behind the tv that really has made a difference. I find myself turning them on anytime I use the TV now, especially in a pitch dark room. I also enjoy being able to leave those lights on when I'm done watching tv or playing a game and leaving the room and telling Siri to turn them off once I've left the room. While I question the price and how cheap the plastic feels, I would buy these again and do recommend them if you already have Hue lights.

I bought the phillips hue play bars for back lighting my TV. They were easy to set up and ease the eyes when watching movies in a dark setting. They are also fun to use when gaming. I hope to pick up the Sync box soon.

Great addition to any Hue light family! I purchased these to create a better ambiance for watching movies and it has definitely accomplished this. The Hue app is jam packed with cool features and free settings to help you out, and that are easy to use. For instance, if I’m feeling extra and have friends over and we are getting ready to start the movie, I’ll flash the “house lights” and then we are off. **The lights do not sync well unless the movie is being played off the computer or using a camera app from a phone. If you would like the lights to balance and blend with the movies colors, please be aware of this. ***As of writing this review vs. purchase date, Hue is rolling out an HDMI switch to aid in the cohesion of the light sync.
