Easy to setup and control with your voice
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these to use, on my desk, as lighting, while I stream for my YouTube channel. I like that I can control them with Siri or Google Assistant. Since they use a hub and I'd already purchased the starter kit, I just had to tap the button on the top of the hub and they connected instantly. I can sync them to my computer as well, so they sync up the colors and brightness to music, movies, etc. When I go live, I can adjust them to get just the right brightness and exposure. Also, fun to play with the colors. The Philips ecosystem is convenient and easy to handle. My only complaint is the price.

Best Purchase.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Phillips Hue Play Bars have been the best purchase. I’ve owned them for years and I can’t imagine not owning them. They brighten up my living room and give such a nice ambient glow to my entertainment stand. Hue shines its brightest when it’s used in tandem with the other products the company offers. Just incredible.

Solid quality color and white lightbar
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In general, they’re really good light bars. A bit on the pricier end but that’s what convenience costs. It requires the Hub which is a bit disappointing as there is no way to connect via Bluetooth. The color range, quality, and brightness are excellent and the app makes it simple to set up and use. I recommend having the hub by all the devices during initial setup, including firmware update as it can be a pain if you do it from a room with spotty WiFi. Got a few bulbs later as it really improved the ambience of the gaming room for my partner and I

Good lighting is essential
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Hue Smart Light Bar for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed! The setup was simple and seamless, and it integrated easily with my existing Hue system and smart home devices. The light quality is excellent — vibrant colors, smooth dimming, and a wide range of customization options. I especially love using them behind my TV for an immersive entertainment experience, but they also work great for accent lighting around the house. The app control and voice assistant compatibility make it super convenient to adjust the mood instantly. Overall, a fantastic product that really elevates the atmosphere of any room. Highly recommend!

Better than the light strip
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After returning a color change light strip due to a section quickly malfunctioning, I ended up with 4 of these (2-2packs on sale) which was comparable to the price of the Play gradient light strip. 3 for the TV, one to float wherever I’d like. The 3 can be linked to be all the same color, or i can select individual colors. It’s great. I think they are a superior and more flexible option compared to the light strips. Great color, works well with the preset themes, very satisfied.

Fantastic Backlighting!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Veteran Philips Hue owner, so setup was quick and easy. Just make sure that you have the Hue Sync App installed on your PC. Reminder, this does NOT work with over the air/cable content, it requires you to play videos or movies from your PC to work. That being said, I had already connected my bedroom PC to the living room TV via HDMI through the wall. Watched Star Trek Beyond last night, and I was amazed when the Enterprise was on red alert. The red pulses on the screen lit up the back wall as well, totally amazing!!!

I love Hue Lights
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My home is full of Philips Hue lights, but these bars pack a punch in both brightness and color. I use them to add some pop to my Twitch streams, and they don't disappoint. The colors are vibrant, and you can place them just about anywhere. They're basically plug and play, so if frequently change your mind about where you want them, you can easily just move them around anywhere that they can be plugged in. Unless you use the sticky take to attach them to a wall. But the mounts make it easy to place them in even the most awkward places. I definitely recommend these for livening up any space. They feel like good solid quality products, as do all the hue products I have and I like the mat black finish, so they don't stand out if you have them in plain sight. Considering the cost of some other lighting products out there, I think these are a great deal.

I like them but,,,,,,,,
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, so I have, in all, about 80 friends of hue, which include A19's, BR30's, GU10's, the little bitty bulbs, strips, Hue GO's, Blooms, Iris', White ambience, etc. These new PLAY lights, are more comparable to the 1st gen in terms of color. I have mostly 3rd gen bulbs & strips now, but still hadn't a few 1st & 2nd gen products. I replaced 1 spot where I had a bloom light, which was behind my TV, with a PLAY light, & while it does the job, the bloom color is much more distinctive, & the blooms are nowhere close to the HUE GO color, so that should give you some idea. The other thing, & this was confusing as Heck to me, was the different packages; you have the 1 light, then there's 1 light that says "extension", & then you have the 2 pack, which is what I bought. So the 1 light is the light & POWER CABLE; the 1 extension is ONLY a light, but no POWER cable. The 2 pack comes with 2 lights, but only ONE POWER CABLE, as you can connect 3 extensions on 1 PER POWER CABLE. I didn't realize what all of that was until I bought this 2 pack, & saw it was only 1 POWER CABLE, which wasn't my intent, because I hadn't planned on putting them close together, but had no choice, causing me to move my Bloom light. Personally, because I have them all, & know how the colors are, I probably won't by anymore of these, but that said, I like the pair I have...

Interactive Theater-Like!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a 65-in. Samsung TV that I use for gaming and I had gotten into Philips Hue Smart lighting, particularly since I had invested in a Hue HDMI Sync Box. The lights themselves are a very decent size and come with a set of screws and stands that enable the lights to be placed upright, possibly on an entertainment desk or other flat surface. However, I opted to use the other set it comes with, which are two velcro-like pads that allows the lights to be placed behind the TV - which makes the room lighting really pop on my mounted TV. Pairing with the Hue smart app and Sync Box, the lights can be synced to a music app like Spotify or Apple Music. The lights flicker and shine with the beat of the music app, and they can also be synced with gaming or movies that mimic the lighting of what's being displayed on the TV. Overall, very solid lights that make your entertainmnent area come to life in a variety of ways! Easy setup and they can be used along with other Hue smart lights, strips, or other bluetooth-connected bulbs.

a GREAT addition for a true cinematic experience!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll admit I was a little skeptical when making this purchase but I'm so glad I did. They're so easy to install but you need the play box in order to control how the lighting works, which is a separate purchase. The lights mount to the back of the TV using sticky tabs and hold securely so you can choose how much ambient lighting is seen. The lights change color depending on what is being viewed. This makes using the lighting with regular TV a little 'busy' (commercials) but using them with a movie really enhances the entire experience. Price is a little high but worth the cost.

Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lights are great very bright and easy to connect . Preferred them over a strip because I didn't want to glue the strip all around the tv . Do wish they came with a few extra things to glue then incase you decide to move them.

A Splash of Color
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I added these smart LED bars to my shelves above my desk and they create a great atmosphere. I use them in conjunction with Hue light s in my office ceiling and they work great. I primarily use the app on my iPhone to control them. I would like to find a more robust desktop version of the software for my Mac, but I do enjoy hw it combines with Siri to suggest when to turn on and off my lights in the morning and evening. I also use them to have better lighting for my frequent Zoom calls.

Great potential but limited
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A decent alternative to using a RGB strip, but are more expensive. It does include sticky tape to attach to tv, but you also have two different stands to use. Using them to match lighting on a movie or game is a nice feature. They can get very bright and have nice color saturation. What's holding this back is the match lighting is limited to the hue sync program that has to be installed on a PC. There are work around for PS4 by using remote play. If Phillips could get these to sync with the TV without the need for a PC they would appeal to a lot more people.

Hue light bars
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my gaming system. There are wonderful. Can use them with the app. Make the video games better. I also have sync with Alexa and by command card ask for a specific color. The only problem is, if you want to use the ambient light match the TV screen color, you need a separate hdmi box. An extra 250 dollars for the box. Plus light strip, bulbs and other stuff. It gets expensive to have it like the videos when the whole room lights syncs to the tv.

Solid lights
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have no issues with the quality or ease of use with the lights. I Was debating between these and Govee, but opted for these due to desire to start in the Phillips ecosystem. They are not big, but the colors are vivid and the app to control is very easy to use. Only downside is the cost, but it was worth it to me

Love
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun more effective light system. I ordered these for the back of my new TV for the lighting. It's much stronger and more versatile than the light strip I had previously. Set up was very easy and the 3m two sided attachment stick on like glue (make sure you mount it right the first time). Looks great and doesn't heat up the way a lightbulb or strip would. I have 19 hue lights in my house and it's just fun controlling with voice commands. Only critism is that there is limitation to how you angle these.
