HUE does it again.

Great ambiance
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These lights were very easy to set up and give a great ambiance to our game room. There are so many color options, including some pre set combinations like “sunset” or “arctic.” You can change/ dim the colors or turn them on and off from your phone from any place on the house (you DO need to purchase the Philips Bridge separately for functionality.) I absolutely love these and will be buying another set for our living room!

Nice (and useful) accessory to your TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These add a very nice touch mounted to the back of my TV. With all the other lights off, they allow you to see without creating glare on the screen. Choose whatever color suits you. Easy to control and group through the HUE app.

Colorful and Packs a Punch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased initially for my office, to brighten my profile while doing zoom calls. They worked well for that purpose and the gradient in white light helped fine tune my look on zoom. Integrated with Apple HomeKit, I set up a scene that allowed me to tell Siri "meeting time" and she would turn on my lights to the setting defined while turning off any music coming from my HomePod. Ended up moving to my TV setup as part of the Hue Play Sync system. They get colorful and bright. Downside is all the cords, which are sometimes short for spanning across the back of your media console.

Works great with HDMI sync box and lightstrips
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review."From my HDMI sync box review" I want to start with information I wish I knew before buying the product: Does not support 1440p at 60 or 120hz. Works with 1080p120. Does not support VRR/Freesync. (Even though it shows up on the Xbox menu, but the video will just constantly flicker and go to a blank screen) Only 2 HDMI ports that support full 600Mhz bandwidth signals (Ports 2 and 4, marked as Dolby Vision ports in the app). Supports ALLM, but only if you have a XBox One X/S or PS4 hooked up and active when the sync box first turns on. CEC seems to be working with my Samsung Q9FN QLED. It auto switches the inputs on the sync box, turns on when one if the inputs becomes active, turns on the TV, and passes commands from the TV remote to the devices connected to the sync box. It does not switch inputs on the TV to the sync box automatically, and I believe it sort of works like the XBox where is uses IR for some of it's commands. From what I've read in the forums there is no EARC support. At least there is no mention of it in the app or manual. I bought the Geek Squad Certified Refurbished sync box and from what I can tell it looks and works just like new. As for how it syncs with the light bulbs and bars it's pretty cool. I have another setup in a different room with HDFury LED strips, and the hue bulbs are much brighter, and more versatile. The lights can be configured to emit all kinds of color and brightness variations while not syncing to the TV picture. But unlike the HDfury LED strip each light can only emit 1 color at a time. I have 3 light bars at the top of my 65" TV and depending on the scene it really makes you feel like the ceiling is like the color of the sky in the video. Although, there is something weird going on with the algorithm that makes the center top light less saturated than the lights on the edges. Might be a firmware issue. I plan on adding more lights to better mimic the individual addressable lights of the HDFury LED strip. Overall I am happy with the setup. For movie watching in SDR and HDR the ambient lighting really adds to the mood and immersion. And for regular HDR 4K 60hz gaming like on the PS4 Pro it also works really well, as long as you use the right ports. But with more advanced consoles like the Xbox One X and the upcoming PS5 and XSX I do not plan on hooking up those devices to the sync box directly. There is a Music preset in the app, so hopefully I can use ARC from the TV to synchronize the lights to the sound from the consoles connected directly to the TV. Although, unless a future update adds EARC support I might have to find a way to split the signal going to a 8K EARC AVR. I say go for it if you can find a good deal for the box and at least 4 light bars.

A nice touch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve really enjoyed using the Philips Hue Play Light Bars so far. The colors are vibrant, the integration with the Hue app is seamless, and they add a great ambiance whether I’m watching movies, gaming, or just relaxing. Setup was straightforward, and the compact design makes them easy to place behind a TV or monitor. The only issue I’ve run into was a brief instance of flickering, but it only happened once and hasn’t been a problem since. Otherwise, they’ve been rock-solid. Overall, a great addition to any smart home lighting setup.

Works Great But A Bit Pricey
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm really enjoying these lights. Syncing it up was a breeze. I have these connected to the the Google Home app. I can just talk to my Google Home Mini to change the light colors. If I want to play with the colors, I can just use the Philips Hue app. Everything works seamlessly. It's a bit pricey for my liking but I purchased these with some reward points, so I didn't pay full price.

Great for ambient lighting.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great for adding additional mood lighting to any room. The cords are pretty long, so I didn’t have issues with placements. The different options for orientation (laid down, standing upright, etc.) help customize your the space you decide to place them. They reflect well off walls, giving great dimension to any room, entertainment space, or work space. That being said, I wouldn’t use these as the sole light source for a room. While they do get bright, these are definitely are more suited for ambiant mood loghting, or lighting for entertainment systems. Also, it only comes with one AC adapter (the wall plug), and while this is convenient for saving space on your outlet or power strip, both lights need to be plugged into it for them to function, which means you can’t have these on opposite ends of the room. The cords are long but not that long. If this is your vision for your space, I recommend getting the version of this product that has one light instead of this set that has two, that way each of the lights has their own power source and can be separate. Otherwise, great product. I can definitely see myself getting more for my desk area.

Great lights for behind your TV!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own 10 of these lights (5 pairs, spread amongst 4 rooms). I love them - they have a great color spectrum, they work great with the Hue app and other lights in the Hue line up. Just a fantastic addition to any room. They are a little expensive, but Hue is a premium product in this industry segment. Worth it, and those that buy Hue already know that they need to pay a premium (just like buying Sony, Apple or any other industry leader).

Fun accent lights
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I put these behind my TV for accent lighting. I would like to find a better place around the TV though so I can see more of the color so need to research some ideas. My husband likes them on green when he watches football. We do have presets for movie viewing and that is really fun. At $129, they are expensive. I watched them for a long time waiting for a sale but never saw one. Nice but I think too expensive.

simple and easy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered these for the back of my new TV for the lighting. It's much stronger and more versatile than the light strip I had previously. Set up was very easy and the 3m two sided attachment stick on like glue (make sure you mount it right the first time). Looks great and doesn't heat up the way a lightbulb or strip would. I have 19 hue lights in my house and it's just fun controlling with voice commands. Only critism is that there is limitation to how you angle these.

Great for behind TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are very good for placing behind a tv for ambient light. I had a light strip on my old tv that didn’t work with the way my tv was set up. These work great. Multiple different options to mount the lights and super easy to set up. I have two behind my tv and it’s nice to be able to have two different colors. Not quite as bright as the light strip, but they work perfect for this type of use.

Great addition to lights
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lights work great. They give the room the accent lighting I was wanting and using it with the hub makes programming a schedule so easy. Also used it with a switch and this is nice when someone visits who does not have the app they can turn the lights on and off. I am very happy with these lights and all hue lights I have.

Perfect upgrade for Hue lights
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to add to my ever growing Hue collection. I have added this to my TV which already had a lightstrip. These make the colors even brighter and are really nice when you use the hue sync app to sync the lights to your screen. You can add a third light to the power adapter which I plan to do as they sell the the hue play bars individually. It's a great addition to the collection.

Never enough HUE lights
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Added these to the back of our LG OLED WebOS TV for a total of 8 HUE lights in the TV entertainment room. Easy to setup and install, just like any other HUE light. We've got 40+ HUE lamps in our house, so these were just two more. Spoiler, just like so many other negative reviews about the supplied adhesive strips - one of ours refused to stay attached after one week. There are many alternatives. The lights are great. Attaching them is a different matter.

A Wonderful Addition to the Hue Family
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I initially purchased my Hue Sync box, the gradient light strips were not yet available, so this was the only product specifically designed for Sync that I could get. While I understand that those light strips really elevate the experience to another level, I'm exceptionally pleased with my purchase of the light bars and am sure I'll continue to find a place for them in my setup once I've upgraded to the strip. Connecting the light bars is very simply and I appreciate the inclusion of a power adapter that can support multiple devices at the same time. The stands are easy to connect and my Hue App integrated the lights into my system seamlessly. The bars support a wide range of vivid colors and do a tremendous job of throwing them at the wall behind my television in a way that accurately recreates what's on screen and being fed through the sync box. They also work well as ambient light when not using the Sync features. They might not be worth the expense if you're just looking for additional Hue lights, but as part of a Sync setup, they're outstanding.

Great lights, expensive price.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These lights provide a lot of light. Quite a few color options and if combined with other philips hue lights can set the mood in the room. The biggest drawback is the price. The entire hue line is expensive compared to other options. I'm just locked into the hue ecosystem as I started with them before any other options were available. I have not had a bad bulb yet. They've all worked well and continue too.
