It's a good product, a little clunky but good since it doesn't have batteries. The prolem I have with it is more software then hardware. For instance you can dedicate each button to perform the scene u want but you can't press the same button to turn off. You have to dedicate a button to turn off the lights. So reality is that you have a minimum of 3 scenes and an off and if your only using it for 1 set of lights.

I purchased my first one 2 years ago, after about 7 months it stopped working. I tried re-pairing to the hub and it wouldn't work. I bought a new one and a year later this one stopped working too... I refuse to buy another one as they suddenly stop working. They're barely even used because we have our hue system paired to our Google home and Amazon echo. I'm disappointed with the quality of these switches.

I have 3 lights and a fan in my room. This is perfect as I want the fan on all the time. So button 2 turns on 1 light, button 3 turns on 2 lights and button 4 turns on 3 lights, all with the fan on. The big button turns them all off and keeps the fan on. Perfect. Only complaint is the occasional hiccup with HomeKit where there is no response, not the taps fault. Highly recommend.

This is the biggest piece of garbage! It NEVER stays connected to the system! It constantly has to be put back online! I have purchased both of these but this one is horrible. I called Phillips support multiple times. They tell you each time you never called about the thing you called about. I would NEVER buy from them again knowing what I do. The light bulbs are good, plain switch is good, light strip horrible and this switch the worst!

I use this device to control the lights in my bedroom. The Tap itself is placed on my headboard for easy access so that i can turn on and off my Hue lights without leaving the bed. The other two buttons are used to control the colors of my Bloom lights that i have placed on the nightstands. No batteries needed, since it apparently uses the kinetic energy from pressing the Tap buttons itself to perform whatever functions you have programmed to the device.

Between 4 and 5 stars. It was a little buggy at first when I set it up. But now that it's setup it is extremely convenient. Just really nice to have some extra buttons to hit as opposed to opening my app every time. Especially if you'd want to move it room to room for whatever reason. Leave it by the door when you come home and then move it to the other room before you go to bed. I know you can set timers but it's just nice having a physical switch again.

I like the flexibility and convenience of this switch. The ability to control separate scenes (and/or OFF) is really helpful when I don't want to dig out my phone and find apps to do it. My only complaint about it is that it requires more of a press/click than a "tap" as the name suggests (I suppose this is due to the need to generate the kinetic energy to run it). I plan to buy more of these in the future!

    Must have accessory!

A must have accessory for your hue or lux bulbs. If you're like me and are pretty much the geek of the house, you know how annoying it can be when you are on the couch and go to turn on a lamp with your phone or tablet only to realize that someone else has turned it off with the lamp switch. The hue tap solves this problem by giving everyone else in the house a way to use the lamps without undermining the convenience and usability of your smart bulbs.

Like pretty much all Hue products, the Tap Remote Switch is pricey. But it offers the convenience of not grabbing for your phone every time you want to change your lighting settings. I didn't mount it to a surface using the included peel and stick feature, choosing instead to use it as a switch than can be moved to wherever in the room it's needed. I wish it was cheaper but it was worth it for me.

I would have expected a better light switch for the Hue light system. There clicker button switch doesn't always work on first try. It was also hard to set up. Wish it had more buttons for more scenes. Don't get me wrong, it does work, just not well. Design could be better. Less bulky and flatter. Phillips need to work on this and make it better. I love the Hue light system, but there app and switch could be so much better.

After two bulbs burned out in my bathroom in two days, I decided to replace them all with Hue bulbs. I got this switch to use for those times when you don’t wanna use your voice or open up your phone. Works as expected. Stopped working one evening, but ended up fixing itself, so that must’ve just been a temporary communication issue.

The Tap has 4 buttons that all function as scene change triggers. The Hue hub doe not keep track of the Tap's button state, so having each of the buttons serve as on and off is not possible. I knew this going in, but didn't think it would end up annoying me quite as much as it does. I still use the Tap daily, it's a quick switch for my lights that I can take around the house that is certainly better than opening the Hue app.

My wife and I purchased the Hue tap shortly after buying several Hue bulbs. We got tired of pulling out our smartphone everytime we wanted to turn a light on or off. With this device, you can program 4 different functions such as turning on or off a single light or a group. And it requires no batteries. Total win!

Thus clever switch pairs seamlessly with the hue bridge using the app and then you're in business. Somehow the switch doesn't even need a battery to work, so it's a great controller for your hue bulbs without having to use the app. Note that the app is still needed if you want to create a scene or dim the lights. The switch allows you to turn lights on and off and activate 3 scenes you can select from within the app.

On of my biggest issues with hue is when the power is shutoff to the lights they lose their memory. With the Tap it is a way of getting around this. Setting up of several defaults will allow you to sett the lighting up even when all power is dropped. It is very expensive for what it is, but cutting the reliance to a phone or pc is handy. Also there are apps out there that allow you to get even more setup functionality with the Tap

    Near-Essential Add-On To Philips Hue

The basic Hue system (which was recently updated to 2.0) is a great entry into automated lighting by the use of apps, however there are times when you just want to hit a switch to make that happen. I've mounted the switch near my main door so that the first thing I do when I leave home or arrive home does not involve me taking out my phone to switch the lights on or off. Near-essential if you own a Philips Hue system.

This product came as an add on special when purchasing other Philips Hue products. It was free so I didn't complain. It does exactly as it advertises but I don't use it that much - but again, I haven't had it long either. The neat thing is that it requires no battery or plug for power. The power is generated by your tap of the buttons which is an interesting concept.

I love my Hue lights, but found it inconvenient on occasion only being able to use my phone to switch them on/off. This switch is a very handy way to quickly interact with them as I enter/leave my bedroom. Also the fact that it runs on kinetic energy definitely helps. There are so many things to charge these days, it's nice not having to add another one to the list. Highly recommended for any Hue user!

I purchased this to turn off and on my lights when I couldn't use the voice feature with Alexa. I've since fixed that, but I still use the Tap by my bed to set scenes and turn off the lights when Alexa misbehaves. Definitely worth buying, though a bit expensive. And somehow it magically works without batteries... Haven't figured that one out yet.

This is a must have for the Hue user. I love using my phone but it's nice to stick this on the wall and then use it like a remote by twisting it off the base (when stuck on the wall). It's super easy to set-up and great if you forgot your phone downstairs but your lights are in your bedroom or bathroom. I will probably add another one of these downstairs. Awesome accessory for the Hue user.
