    More for fun, not functionality

I wanted this switch to be able to assign each button to a different room. When you push the button it turns on the lights or scene you assigned. But pushing the same button again does not turn off those lights or scene. To turn off lights you have to assign one of the buttons to 'turn off ALL lights'. That's just not practical to me.

Nice to have, doesn't always work

Bought this to place next to my front door in case I came home prior to a scene starting. It's nice to have but doesn't always work. Sometimes I have to tap a button four or five times before the lights will turn on. It's almost like it is having to charge up to send a signal the 25 feet to my Hub. I would probably return it at this point if I still could.

The tap switch is definitely useful for times when you walk into a room and don't feel like, or have the time to, pull your phone out and control the lights with your app. The switches are easy to setup and easy to use. The best part is there are no batteries, so you don't ever have to worry about changing them. Awesome!

Good, but missing a couple things. I love this product for the fact that I’m able to turn on some of my rooms without having to yell hey Siri, but there are only four scenes that can be controlled and none of them are to automatically turn them off .

This control was difficult to connect to the system. I even watched youtube videos to try and connect it. Not even sure how it finally got connected, it just seemed to appear on app. Once it was connected set up of the different buttons was a breeze. Nice to be able and hit the switch and turn everything on or off a once.

This is non electronic which I knew but you have to press hard meaning you really should pick it up (no just walking by and pressing the button while it sits on the table). It’s clanky and cheapish at least to me. It is however made from heavy plastic.

Its nice to not have to open an app all the time, just to turn on and off the lights. And its cool the way it uses kinetic energy instead of batteries. Only negative is that I read that it only last for a certain amount of "pushes", then you'll have to get a new one. But it should last long enough So far, no complaints here.

    Best Hue Switch

I think the Tap Switch is great. I like the dimmer Philips offers as well but the Tap Switch just seems to be more reliable, regardless of how many devices you have linked to a particular bridge. The inability to alter the brightness level is the only negative but that's when HomeKit, Echo, or Google Home become resourceful.

I was intrigued since this was powerless, how well it would work. The sensitivity of the buttons can vary, since they are placed around the edge of the device. As long as you are pressing straight in, and with a solid backing, it works well. We like that we can set or mount it anywhere, move it around when we move around.

I love this controller! To have no batteries to worry about its a major plus. I use it to control upstairs and downstairs hallway lights. I can put them both on then when I'm on the second floor shut off the first floor, dim them down, shut one off or both. There's just so much you can do with this! I love love love it!

The switch is very nice to have to be able to turn on lights to certain colors/brightness without having to get your phone/tablet. However, the switch sometimes has issues where it doesn't register me hitting one of the buttons. It's usually fine on a second push, but there has been a couple of times when I had to reset it through the app.

I already had one of their dimmer switches and was going to get a second, but I saw this instead. Now, at the touch/click of a button, I can set my Play Bar lights to 3 different settings and turn them off as I go to bed.

The Tap Switch was a necessity for me as in a high traffic area you don't want to have to go into the app on your phone every time you want to turn on/off the light. This allows you to set up to four "scenes" (the 3 small buttons and the overall buttons). I chose to make one of the buttons "all off". I could use a few more of these. :)

The switch is a nice alternative to have instead of always needing to pull out your phone for the lights. However you need to make sure you press the switch in pretty hard to make sure it works. Also, only having 3 options for color settings at a price of $60 is a bit high.. If you can get this for $30 or less, it's probably worth it

While this is cool to mount on the wall and it detaches easily to move from room to room, it only has four buttons and doesn't do anything your app doesn't. This is only really good for one room that you have 4 settings you really want to use most, otherwise it's not necessary or worth it. Having said that, it doesn't require batteries!

I have a Tap in my family room and love it! I'm able to set the lights to my favorite teams colors whenever they are playing at the push of a button. And no batteries to replace! A miracle in itself. Only wish you didn't have to give up one of the four button settings to turn everything off.

It is a good device that has the advantage that it does not require any batteries to operate. The only issue with this device is that pushing the 2-4 buttons is slightly more difficult then expected. It requires that you push the whole face of the device in no mater what button you push.

This Tap controls 4 scenes very conveniently without the need of a power source. Occasionally you have to push the button twice, but I have generally been able to attribute that to user error due to the need for a firm push. The buttons are a little harder to push because of the kinetic energy that it creates and uses.

SImple to set up - toughest part is deciding what to control. It's more than just a tap - a firm push to get the unit to do its thing. You select the button that's programmed to control the event, then the whole unit needs to be pushed down to activate the switch. A very clever, BATTERY FREE device. Makes life good.

I got this after having a full hue set up for months. Once you start using home automation daily, you realize adjustments/needs that would simplify your life even further. To be able to use the tap and trigger multiple scenes is prefect for my family that aren't always tethered to their phones.
