Worked really well, however didn't like the buttons and how bulky it was. It looks like 4 separate buttons, however it one master button, it just depends on which of the 4 you push to get the light setting you programmed.

The Tap switch is built around an odd system where three smaller buttons are connected with a single large button. The end result is that hitting one of the smaller buttons (labeled 2, 3, or 4) has a reasonable probability of having the switch register that as a press on the large button (labeled 1). I bought two of these switches, and I noticed that one switch has this issue a lot more than the other (both have different "DC" model numbers on the back). Also to note is that the switch still requires a network connection to work, so you cannot use it on a Hue Go away from your home network after registering functions, for example.

This is a horrible product. Set up was cumbersome but acceptable. The hardware of this product was less than stellar. But it simply does not work. It is a horrible product.

Easy setup, design could be improved

The setup with my Hue bridge was very easy. The Tap works well as a bedside switch (wanted a solution that enabled me to activate a specific scene without having to cycle through multiple scenes like with the Hue wireless dimmer switch) and is small enough that mounting it on the wall would not be aesthetically displeasing. However, the physical functionality of the device requires that the buttons be pressed in exactly the right way for it to register. The entire Tap is a large button that depresses (associated with Function 1). The 3 individual buttons (Functions 2-4) also depress the entire Tap, but should trigger separate actions. I've found that if the small buttons are not pushed exactly in the center, they will register as Function 1. Not a dealbreaker for me at all, but I can easily see how it could annoy others.

After switching a large number of conventional bulbs to Hue bulbs, I noticed an issue: not everyone who comes to my house knows how it operates. Everyone is used to normal light switches, but I would often come home to find many of my Hue lights without power because, for example, the babysitter needed to turn off the lights and found a way to do it. Enter the Hue Tap. It looks similar enough to a light switch that even someone unfamiliar with the system would understand its basic use. I put in two of these units where a physical toggle was good to have. Response time is fast, and I love the fact that it generates its own power from the act of pressing it. It looks nice and unobtrusive. I'm not crazy about the price tag, but it was worth it for the two places I deployed them.

I love my new Hue Flood lights and figured I would add on a sort of physical switch of some sort and read the reviews and this seemed like a good option. There is not much to this device and it is quite small and you can opt to mount it to the wall or table. Hooking this up was pretty cumbersome since you have to hold down a button to get it to sync and be recognized by the app. It took several tries and the buttons are not labeled and you have to push hard to get the button to register. The device feels cheap and clicking the buttons after a bit was annoying. I did get it connected after 10 tries but in the end I returned this since it does not really help at all to use the lights. It is annoying and pretty much a surprising joke product to me.
