The concept is great, but they still charge to much for such items, must be cheaper. Another minus is no ability to control thru internet only over WI fi.

The bulbs are ok, but first you need the HUB, so it will not work with your WIFI and second to control the lights you have to leave the Switch ON all the time. So you have to use Google Home or similar to control the lights. I would buy a smart switch instead of the smart lights.

I purchased this for my father as a Christmas gift and he absolutely loves it. It exceeded my expectations and I would consider purchasing for myself. Only thing I did not like about the kit is the rather large module that needed to be hooked up to your WiFi router for connectivity to the light bulbs.

I love my new lights but hate that I can't control them when I am not home connected to my WiFi network. I was hoping to be able to use the lights when I was out of town to make it appear like I was Home. Still a great product.

These lights work great. Be aware that the hub must plug directly into your router, it is not wifi enabled. Works well with Google Home voice control.

This starter kit is easy to set up and is nice for control when away from home.I control my lights with the Hue app but also have the option to use the Amazon Alexa app too. I almost always use Alexa voice command if home otherwise I control with the Hue app when away. If I'm at home but not near Alexa I use Siri on my phone to also control lights. The only drawback is that you have to be connected to WiFi to control away from home.

I bought these and ended up returning them to buy bulbs that didn't require the hub. This was a huge mistake on my part because the wifi needs to be constantly connected to the light bulb and not the home internet. It also constantly crashes and my echo dot couldn't find it half of the time. I went back to this one and it is working smoothly. I would recommend that anyone purchasing the smart bulbs find a kit such as this that comes with the hub.

So far so good very happy with setup. Lights work and fiction as described. Only disappointment is hub doesn't work off of WiFi. So takes up a port. Beth happy.

So far Philips Hue has been great. I think having the bulbs on their own Zigbee network through the Hue bridge ends up working a bit better than having each bulb connect directly to the wifi router. I've over 20 bulbs now and the more you have the better they work. The bulbs create a mesh network, so you can essentially chain bulbs to cover long distances. For instance I had some lamps in one room connected with Wemo switches and they were often unresponsive as that room is farthest from my router. The Hue bulbs have no problem with this however. Hue bulbs in the ceiling of my hallway are likely the cause. I even have hue bulbs on the outside of my garage door now. Even without as direct a chain, they function without issue. On top of all this, in conjunction with Apple Homekit, the responsiveness of this system is superb. As I wrap up outfitting my own home with Hue bulbs, I've begun distributing starters kits to friends and family. Hue has emerged as a leader, and theyre continually updating/expanding while maintaining their existing lineup's compatibility.

Bought this for Alexa integration. That part works flawlessly. I can also dim the lights with the phone app. That also works quite well. But here are where the good stops. So this Philips Hue bulbs (4) with bridge is a great starter way to get into home automation. Set up was fairly easy, though you would need to be close to your internet modem or wifi router/ network router to plug in the internet cable. This is where the WEMO switches have the upper hand, where they already have the wifi connection built in and all you have to do is connect them wirelessly to your wifi router. Yes, I understand that the bridge is there for expansion, as you can add quite a few more lights to the same bridge, so the bridge in itself is a separate, private wireless router. But it could be hard to install for some application as you have to be close to your home router and an AC outlet. Putting that aside, the connection stays pretty good. I have the lights in the basement, and the hue bridge in the basement and Alexa upstairs. Alexa more times than not, will detect and control the lights before I go down. When I am in the basement, my only control method is my app, which is also pretty responsive. It may sometimes take a couple of tries to get the right dim or for the light to show up in the app but most of the times it gets it right. The nice thing about is that you can set up scenes, for example if you are having a guest night you can have all of them set bright, and when it is movie time you press a button and they dim to your preset liking. I have mine set up to 1% dim on two of them and off on the other two to create a dark but not totally dark movie experience. All in all, it is pretty convenient and am thinking to add some more bulbs to lamps in the bedroom and livingroom. That is where the good things end. Here comes the 'bad things'. There is no way (haven't found it yet) to remote control the lights away from home. As your lights are on their own hue bridge / router, there is no way to tap into your home wifi from anywhere in the world and turn the lights on/ off or even see if they are turned on or off. This is where the WEMO switched do a much better job. there is a setting that detects when you are away from the lights via the cell phone app, to turn the lights off when you leave home and on when you return, but that part is pretty useless. Also, if you ever lose power or have a power surge, the lights turn on. So if you are away on vacation, your lights are on for the entire day. You can also set a preset program to turn the lights off at a certain time (mine are set to turn off at 1AM every day). But again, it would be nice to see if your lights are on or off. If they incorporate that, then it would be a much better experience. Also, unlike the WEMO which are actually wall switches, you have to leave your lights in the on position all the time. If you ever flick the switch by accident, your lights won't work. So it is best to use them for nightstand lamps in bedrooms and maybe living rooms. I wouldn't use them at point of entries where you need instant light, i.e. when entering your home. There, again, is where WEMO switches win, as you can operate them as normal on/off switches as well. OVERALL: These are pretty nice to set the mood in your room as you can dim them. The dimming feature is what sold me on them, as I needed some dimming lights in my basement. Other than that, it depends how you want to control your lights. Do you want convenience of turning lights on. @@@@@@ off from your couch and don't want to get a screwdriver? Then this is for you. Are you a bit more handy and have no problem turning off the power to the house and install wifi switches, for a bit more control on your lights (minus the dimming feature)? Then get the WEMO switches or WEMO plugs. You do get a bit more with this package (4 bulbs and a bridge for about $100), but you get more control with WEMO, although $100 will get you about 2 switches (they are almost $50 each). .
