Great lights for general use and not expensive.

These lights are great and I am replacing all my lights with them. I just need to train myself to leave the switches alone. I have motion sensors the control many areas such as bathrooms and other utility areas. My front porch light is setup on a time schedule now and when I get home my garage, hall and stair lights all turn on if after sunset. I also use these as night lights on the stairs and in the kids bathroom and hall. So many uses without the expense of color and about the same price as some dimmable LED builds without smart features. With home automation they can be used with motion sensors and are quick to respond.

We bought a few of these bulbs for around the house. The actual bulbs and connection is great. However, within 6 months of buying multiple bulbs, they stopped working. They get very hot when the switch is turned on but no light from the bulb itself. We tried calling Philips numerous times but never received actual support. Only a voicemail. Almost feels like there’s no support team for Hue at all. Again, product is good when it works but it’s something to keep in mind that the reliability and service is awful. You may find yourself having to buy new bulbs yourself a lot sooner than expected.

These bulbs work great as smart bulbs. They work almost flawlessly with my Google Home. With these bulbs, you need a Philips Hue bridge in order to use them. You can use your phone or smart home assistant to dim or brighten the lights. These specific bulbs do not change colors. That being said, the downside to these bulbs is that they are more of a yellow hue even though the description says white. If you are looking for more of a white hue, purchase the Philips Hue A19 Ambience bulbs as you can change the color tone from yellow to white.

Not much to say about this other than that it works great, was easy to install, and provides ample light for the kitchen. When I installed my 4 color bulbs around my apartment I thought it would be great to be able to control my kitchen lighting as well, and this did the trick since I didn't need a colored bulb in the kitchen. At $15 these are super reasonable and will integrate with your new or existing Hue system perfectly.

Went first with the TP Link lights, and they were a complete nightmare. I thought I would like that each light synced with my fi-fi individually, but nothing I would do could keep them connected. Even with TP Link support. Didn't think I would like the hub setup on the Phillips Hue lights, but I am totally sold on it, especially after changing ISPs. The hub is hardwired into my router, so all 10 bulbs were still there. All my TP Link and Belkin WEMO products had to each be reset to the new Wi-Fi.. Had I still had TP Link bulbs, each individual bulb would have had to be reset to the new wi-fi

My house is pretty much all set for smart lights. I have 11 of these white lights and 5 white/color lights. Absolutely love it when I am going to bed and go room to room shutting lights off as I go along with my Amazon Echo Alexa located in the great room or Dot in my kitchen. I love the great room with the 5 color lights set to loop when I am entertaining and playing music. I just have to figure out how to get them to flash to the beat of the music. Excellent when I come home late and turn them on before I get home or if the dogs are home alone and it is getting dark I can turn them on from my smart phone.

I really like these bulbs. They are fairly bright. I am using mine in an outside porch light and even though Philips dont reccomend using them outside I have had no problems so far. It would be nice if they would make a brighter version for outside. It is so nice being able to turn the light on from my phone when getting home. They also work great with Amazon Alexa. For these to connect to your devices you will also need to buy the philips hue bridge. I reccomend buying a starter pack that includes the bridge along with a few bulbs for a better value. I highly recommend this product.

I recently decided to start building my "smart home" and began installing various devices. Philips Hue being the first. The colored bulbs are super expensive. So these standard bulbs, $15 are perfect. Especially if you are just testing things out to decide if you even want a light in that specific room. They do not change various shades of white, but they do dim. I cannot tell the difference between this bulb and my original incandescent bulb. It was a nice transition. These are slightly heavier due to the technology packed inside of them. But overall I own 4 of these and love them!

I bought a couple of these white dimming bulbs for rooms that didn't need to have multi color. Places like the bathrooms, office and wash room. I like the fact that I can control the brightness of those rooms and be able to toggle them on and off after leaving the room if I have my hands full or I might have left the room for something and forgot they were on. With a swipe on my phone or using Alexa I can easily turn them off without having to worry about it. For the price of these bulbs, I think it's worth having a couple around the house I normally would not have had them.

I purchased an Amazon echo, and I wanted to control my lights through it, so after a bit of research, I purchased 4 of these open box bulbs. Setup was easy using the Philips Hue Hub, and linking it to Echo was just as simple. I can control them by voice at home, and using the app when away. I didn't need or want the thousands of colors, so the white only was perfect for me. I can dim them either using Echo or the phone app - and Philips just updated their app, making it more intuitive than before when you've got several lights on one switch. I can now turn them on individually or all at once.

I have about 11 bulbs currently set up around my apartment and love philips hue bulbs. You start to feel like your paying $15 (at first) to be able to control a light with voice (I use the echo plus) but once you have a decent setup it's fun to see how convenient and easy it makes everyday tasks. Like to have your lights dimmed in the evening no problem, like to turn on the radio and lights with a voice command easy. It's fun to see what you can do and make you house pop in bright hues. Excellent product!

Bulbs work great and are bright. Not quite daylight white level but they are good. Works great with the system and easy to integrate. One word of caution, Best Buy policy is that there are no returns once they are open. I had one go bad within a day. To Best Buy's credit they did an exchange because it was obvious it was new. You may want to buy the extended warranty just in case you do not have a customer service manager as good as the one that attended me. I have 5 bulbs working for over a month without anymore issues. You can decide if the extra money for the extended warranty is worth it.

This item came in a package deal so I really wasn't looking for its function. It setup easily with the proper additional pieces. It was fun to show others how the verbal command controlled the light. Not long after the purchase the bulb is not working with the verbal command but it does by manual adjustment. This might be a good item for certain applications. I'm sure I don't use it to its full potential

I am a huge fan of the Internet of Things. And lighting is a great first step toward making my living space manageable from my smart devices, both at home and away. I started with the color spectrum Phillips lights and was immediately sold on the concept. Since then, I've been using my Best Buy rewards points to increase the amount of intelligent lights in my home at an even better cost. The next step for me will be to evolve more complex aspects of the house, like a smart thermostat, fire alarm, front door lock, and security devices. I'm very much looking forward to accomplishing this!

Great product. The apps that go with Hue are what drive the value of this product. You can create scenes for different times of day and different rooms. I have my living room and kitchen lights set to come on at 0530 hrs when I get up to go to work. I come out of my bedroom to a nice glow instead of stumbling around and being blinded by the first morning light. I also geofence the lights so they come on when I drive up to the house and turn off (if accidentally left on) when I drive away. I also use Siri to turn all my lights off at night when I go to bed.

We replaced all our lights with “daylight” bulbs in our home. The bulb works fine for those wanting the normal yellowish color light. We found the only way to have the daylight bulbs is to spend nearly $40 per bulb which we refuse to do. We also refuse to spend the nearly $60 to buy the hub required to allow the bulb to work with Alexa. Why spend the bucks when it will be much cheaper within a year or two? We would spend the money if we thought it was worth it.

We got our Alexa and Phillips Hue bundle last thanksgiving. After purchasing a few more units, we realized we wanted to expand and use more light control throughout the house. The light bulbs are amazing! We have multiple ones inside and even have a few outside. We have had a cold winter and they have held up great! It's so nice to be able to label them easily and control the lighting with the voice and touch application. Plus, it's nice when going to work in the dark being able to turn the lights off later on in the morning once it lightens up. A great product!

Philip's Hue Lights Are Great But Issue W/ Dimmer

We have the colored Hue in our bedroom and wonder how we made it without them before. Before, it was one bright overhead light, now we dim the lights (voice controlled) with a warm color, change to low warm red/orange to set a mood, light blue for meditating etc....total game changer in lifestyle....the white lights are same idea minus the color options- HOWEVER, the kitchen has a dimmer and they won't turn off- seen the issue reported and still haven't figured out how to fix it...minus that it would be 5 stars and the issue probably won't affect most.

If you have a lot of these sooner or later you will run into the bulb retaining memory of an old set up. depending on whose software you use; HUE, Google, Amazon; this can be a huge problem. Other bulbs can be reset like you phone. Turn the light on/off for a set number of times and it is like new. Not Philips HUE. When it retains memory some software refuses to let you change the name. I guess I would tell someone to try it only because the whole industry is in the dark ages. PS: I programmed industrial machines for 15 years.

Not really much that I can say about a light bulb. I own 18 of these and have had them deployed throughout my entire house for the past 1.75 years. During that time, I've never had any kind of connectivity problem between them and the HUE bridge. They connect instantly to the WiFi, and their responsiveness is immediate. If I had any criticisms, it's that "setting brightness to 1%" is still shockingly bright, but that's more of an overall HUE system criticism.
