    False Advertising

    This product was advertised as the Phillips Hue White Starter Kit in its title. This product description was also described through the whole page as a starter kit containing 2 bulbs and one hub. This product with the Model: 455295 and SKU: 4374300 was advertised at $14.99 so I ordered three. I called the store to verify the product and insure it was a starter kit, and the confirmed 3 times. When I went to pick my item up from the store it was not what was advertised. After 1.5 to 2.0 hours in the store and confirming the issue to be true, they advised me they could not honor the advertised price.

    Not ready for prime time.

    The product is not ready for prime time IMHO. Added two bulbs to my Smartthings hub. A bulb went bad within a week (would not turn on). Bought a replacement. Later I tried to add a third bulb and nothing. Tried a few different things and eventually deleted the two bulbs that were already connected to my Smartthings hub. Mistake! Now I can't add any of the bulbs. Did some more research and it seems there is no way to "factory" reset these bulbs. Now I'm stuck with 3x $15 "dumb" bulbs.

    The bulbs are bright and last a long time. In and of themselves, they are fine. But they belong to a problematic system where Philips provides little support along with an inefficient app for troubleshooting issues. There are cheaper solutions out there that may be worth a look - these are simply too expensive to be so frustrating to work with.

    I purchased 11 of these bulbs to use throughout the home and kept them in open light fixtures. Two weeks later I started to have bulbs that appeared to overheat and turn off on their own after about 5 minutes of use and would work again after cooling off only to cut off in the same manner again. Given the cost of the bulbs I couldn't justify the headaches of troubleshooting this issue so I ended up returning them all.

    Will not work without a hub

    Was very excited to try this as I have seen other bulbs pretty much plug and play out of the box. Well this particular bulb while nice and bright, will not work without purchasing the additional hub. Disappointed that it just would not work with the app like some of its competitors. Well back to Best buy it went the same day I purchased it.

    Not the same bulb as in the starter pack

    I purchased 2 extra bulbs along with the HUE Starter kit. The bulbs in the starter kit are 840 Lumens while the other 2 bulbs I purchased were only 800 Lumens. These are the older version. so when adding 3 to my dining area they do not match. Why is best buy selling the old stock yet without informing the public of the difference?

    Light Bulb Keeps Resetting

    We have purphased over a dozen of these light bulbs in the past and have been extremely pleased. No issues at all!!! However, we have noticed that the newer model of the same bulb keeps resetting itself after setup. This reset has been consistent and obviously annoying. We needed up replacing the newly purchased bulb with a different brand.

    I purchased the Hue system and these add-on bulbs. I wanted them mainly for programmable security on-off routines. Very disappointed, they were very unreliable. Basically useless for daily routine scheduling. Hugh disappointment. I find that the Belkin WEMO switches work as advertised. I have not had any scheduling issues, very reliable.

    Cool idea, but the bulbs kept disconnecting from the base even though they were in the same room as the wireless router. I tried reconnecting them multiple times, but invariably one or two of the bulbs would unpair. I finally gave up and returned the whole shebang.

    After being told this bulb would work with my google home, I realized very fast it does not work unless u have the hub to go with it which is another 65 or so dollars, GE life bulbs plug and play seamlessly with google

    Good thing this was free with my purchase of Alexia the limited intelligence devise. It did not work and we ended up placing it in a drawer with other rather useless items we obtained over the years.

    Don't buy if you just want one smart lightbulb. Not only do you buy the bulb for $15 but you need to buy a separate device ("bridge") for $50 just to use it. Not worth it. Would prefer a bulb with wifi built in. I don't need more devices cluttering up space.

    Advertised "Compatible with Zigbee-certified"..but when you open it and try it and find it does NOT work with Smart Things hub (clearly advertised as a Zygbee hub), they tell you it's non-returnable because it is considered a consumable products.

    The bulb requires that you buy the Hub in order to send the signal and receive the signal from the bulb. An additional $70 purchase just to turn the bulb on and off. Not worth it. Buy a timer for $10 and you're done.

    I purchased this because when I saw that it was compatible with Zigbee system, I thought it would be compatible with my system. It isn't, so I had to return it. Wish the product description was more descriptive.

    Do not purchase any Philips Hue Bulbs!!! They will use their very vague wording in the warranty to not replace anything that is not working.

    Too expensive for normal yellow light. Philips say it's white light but it's just yellow depressing light.
