I had left a review on a couple Hue products before but I am recanting. I don’t know why I’m even leaving 2 stars. After using my Hue bulbs and switches for just over a year, I am tired of them. The bulbs constantly have “no response” and the switches are the same way but even more constant. I am slowly trying to ween them out of my house as the Lutron Caseta Wireless switches have been perfect with zero disconnections for the same time frame. I know this isn’t a network issue as I have an Apple Time Capsule main router as well as 3 additional Airport Extremes. They are ALL hardwired and my entire 4 acres of property is a Wi-Fi heaven. I would never recommend the Hue products to anybody I care about. I would instead say to use regular LED bulbs and the Lutron Caseta Wireless products.

We bought a few of these bulbs for around the house. The actual bulbs and connection is great. However, within 6 months of buying multiple bulbs, they stopped working. They get very hot when the switch is turned on but no light from the bulb itself. We tried calling Philips numerous times but never received actual support. Only a voicemail. Almost feels like there’s no support team for Hue at all. Again, product is good when it works but it’s something to keep in mind that the reliability and service is awful. You may find yourself having to buy new bulbs yourself a lot sooner than expected.

We replaced all our lights with “daylight” bulbs in our home. The bulb works fine for those wanting the normal yellowish color light. We found the only way to have the daylight bulbs is to spend nearly $40 per bulb which we refuse to do. We also refuse to spend the nearly $60 to buy the hub required to allow the bulb to work with Alexa. Why spend the bucks when it will be much cheaper within a year or two? We would spend the money if we thought it was worth it.

Philips hue is probably a good smart bulb ecosystem. The only issue is that it's expensive and requires a hub to control the lights. I ultimately returned it and exchanged it for C life by GE. Which is more of streamlined experience with setup through the Google home app and is more cost friendly.

I got 2 of these bulbs for my bed room and was really excited for this. But I only realized this after it came that it requires a Philip Hue Switch which is sold separably for $65. There are other bulbs out there which can be controlled by you phone and don't require you to buy a hub./ Go for that!

I ended up returning the two bluetooth bulbs that I got with my echo dot because I couldn't use them. The only place where I could have used them would have been too far from the echo dot and I didn't think it would work. No bad or good advice on them since they were never used.

I love the convience of turning things on with my voice. But Alexa doesn’t understand people with accents, she can’t hear me half the time, and she doesn’t understand any language but English. It’s a big minus. I plan on returning the product. I think it will be worth it one day but the technology needs to catch up.

You have to leave the switch on all the time for this to work. That means it's using power to stay connected to your network so that it can be turned on when you ask it to come on. I only have this because it was free with my echo. have not used it so cannot say how the light actually performes.

I had software that I had purchased through Lowe's called Iris and JT accepts all Phillips items except for the lights apparently. Everything was delayed and the dimming was not on queue with your dictation on the phone. If you get this light then only get it with the hub that it is made to go with!

We were given this light bulb free with a purchase. Quite honestly I have no idea how to use it. the only smart devise in our home. First we lived in an apartment. Now a home. May find a use for it some day.

The Phillips Hue needs their proprietary HUB (although the manual states that the Wink2 Hub can offset this requirement). This is not the case, the Philips Hub is required regardless, which I think makes the set-up too expensive

Amazon Alexa does not work well with these bulbs. Have to repeat commands and Alexa sometimes does not recognize the bulb location. Invested hundreds of dollars into a Smart (call it really dumb) system. Buyer beware

I purchased this product a few months ago - as the summary states “I’m not over impressed, for the price.” It functions no issues and pairs with Alexa.

It is ok but I didn't know you needed a wifi beacon and that alone is 60. I found other bulbs that cost a little more and needed no beacon
