This switch is great. Easy to use, magnetic (so can be used anywhere) Turns on & off lights with a push, and controls the brightness with up and down dimmer buttons.

It can be a pain constantly having to pull out your phone or scream at Alexa to turn the lights on and off. Sometimes flipping a switch like a caveman just feels right.
With the Philips Hue dimmer switch you have a choice, not only on location and positioning of your switch but whether or not you have to ask alexa for a favor, especially because you and her had that big argument yesterday and you'd like to prove that you're not dependant on her. Girl, bye.

The four buttons work flawlessly. I use them with Apple HomeKit. Primary Set up in the Hue app and button setup in the HomeKit app.
I currently have three, with primary buttons controlling room lights and secondary (dimmer) buttons controlling scenes. For example my front door switch the down dimmer triggers the “All Off” scene shutting everything down when I leave home.
A definite plus when you don’t have your phone in hand or for those without control through the home app.

I have a ton of pullchain light fixtures in my basement, with no light switch. After inquiring with an electrician, he said it would be $1200 to put them all on a circuit connected to a light switch at the tip of the steps.
Enter Philips Hue.
I placed the $15 hue white bulbs in each socket, clicked the fixtures to on, and removed the pull chains. Now every light is synced to this wonderful little switch, and I am able to turn on, dim, and turn off every light in my basement simultaneously.
This was a life saver. I loved it so much I went out and bought two more.

As with all the Hue items we have purchased, the item was very easy to set up and to use. Remote detaches from base (magnetic) very useful.

Love this product, slowly turning my house into all philips lighting, and let me tell you. The wife isn't a fan of using her phone to turn a light on or of, or the monotony of saying "ok google turn off the kitc-- oh ok google hey google google turn off the kitchen lights" every time you go in and out of a room. Neat feature, but not for us.
This baby let's you go future tech while hanging on to shades of the past. Easy to set up, easy to use.

I loved my Phillip Hue lights, but the lack of a switch was an issue from time to time (people are over, babysitter, phone not handy). This solved it easily. Set up takes seconds. You can set it to what light setting you want to turn on and multiple presses quickly changes to different presets. You can mount it to the wall without holes and it looks like a real light switch. You can pull it out to use it as a remote if you like. Definitely a must-have if you have Hue lights. Telling Siri to turn on my lights is awesome, but sometimes you just need an old school switch.

This is a great convenient way to control a room of Hue lights without having to pull your smart phone out of your pocket or yelling for Alexa to do it.
Multiple scenes can be programmed into it so with each press of the on button, you get a different scene as you see fit.

Compared to the Hue Smart button and the Hue Tap switch, this Hue Wireless Dimmer Switch with Remote is my favorite of the three.
Pros:
works as a handheld remote, or docks via magnet into the switch panel
Simple on
Simple Toggle Multiple custom scenes
Simple dimmer up or down
Simple off
Fast response
Simple and clean aesthetic
Con: Requires a battery (actually a pro compared to Tap Switch which can sometimes be sluggish response)

Perfect for Smart Bulbs in a Ceiling Fan

We purchased this when we picked up the starter pack of the Phillips Hue Smart Bulbs. We got the version that allowed for Warm to Cool White Light (I was outvoted in getting the color based bulbs). This has been the perfect accessory to the bulbs. Our previous ceiling fan had the light kit, light pull stop working. The bulbs plus the dimmer switch allow us to modify the lights without ever having to pull on the chain, unless the situation calls for it. Definitely an appreciated purchase with these bulbs.

We use the Philips Hue app to control our lights the schedules and moods of the rooms I bought a motion sensor to turn the lights on and off in my kids room since they can never seem to cut the light off on their own that worked well for them but I needed more control and flexibility so I bought the dimmer switch and glad I did very easy to connect and program is very handy always where you need it when you need it it's a must-have accessory

I've put hue bulbs all over the house and as much as I love Alexa and telling her to turn on and off the lights sometimes it's just so much easier to hit the button when you walk in the room or turn it off as you walk out. This dimmer switch is great because it gives you multiple options depending on the time of day or your mood. Maybe you want it really bright, maybe you want it really dim. Based on the number of clicks the dimmer can set the lights to whatever you have previously programmed.

The reason I went with Hue

Sure there are cheaper smart led strips out there, but this is one of the reasons I stick with Philips Hue. I like being able to use this remote by sticking it on the wall where a normal light switch would go. Usually the alternative is a cheap plastic remote that looks like something from a kids toy. The Philips remote looks just like a regular light switch so it’s clean and modern! Now I don’t need to give everyone in my house access to the app!
