Replaced our standard dimmer with this dimmer switch after we purchased Hue lights. You can use it as a remote, but we just leave it on the wall, as our phones and iPads are always nearby to use as a mobile remote. I like the look and simplicity if this dimmer. Recommended!

Smart bulbs still need a button

If you have Hue bulbs, you should get one of these remotes for any of the common spaces in your home. Sure you could use the app on your phone, but guests and others in the family don't have the same access. This also reduces the likelihood that someone turns off the bulb at the switch on the fixture, which is one of the primary issues with smart bulbs. Every other line of connected bulb just assumes that you will use their app or an automated routine to control the bulb.
The primary negative to this product is the price. If it were less expensive I would purchase more and have at least one in each room that I had a Hue bulb.

Pros
This is a must for Philips hue. You can group multiple lights and control from anywhere.
Cons
wife said it looks kind of ugly to have both the light switch and this switch attached on the wall.
I hope Philips offers a sor of bracket that I can attach on the existing switch for better look

If you have smart bulbs, you need this switch. Unless you’re cool with constantly pulling out your phone or awkwardly speaking to your smart assistant, which I’m not. Sometimes a good old fashioned push of a button makes more sense, and this makes that possible. Plus it’s still better because you can program each button to do a number of different actions. It is also rock solid and never misses a button press for me. It works instantly and reliably.

I have a roommate that isn't as tech savvy as I am, that preferred not to use her phone app to turn a single light on and off. They would turn the power to the light off all the time causing my phone app not to work with the light. This was a perfect solution to fit both of our lifestyles.

Using in master bedroom for easy on off switching. I wish I could set a default on instead of it turning the light on to the last color used. The lighting I use before going to bed is way different than the one I want to use in the morning. Maybe an app update could add this feature.

This product is the perfect companion to my hue light setup. It has the option to be stuck to a wall (be careful in bathrooms because steam will make the command strips fail) or to be screwed in. Both options work very well. The switches themselves are easily mappable to any scene you want as well.
My tip:
At the hardware store, purchase light switch covers (a pack of a few costs a couple dollars) to cover your existing switches and put these next to your existing light switch. Makes it easier for others to not mess up your Hue system.

I'm the smartphone tech-savvy guy in the house. My spouse is not. Having the dimmer on our (metal) apartment door (It's magnetic - so no drilling required) allows anyone to turn on the lights at the press of a switch before entering the space.
I also find that the app can be glitchy - but the dimmer switch is consistent.
Great coach if you just want to put the lights on and con't feel like fumbling for a phone every time you enter your home.

This is a good little accessory if you don’t have an Alexa or google voice around your lights. Or if for older people who are not as tech savvy. Can set up on the wall with a sticky back that comes with it or a fridge due to it being magnetized. Nice to have 4 different presets and dimmer too. With the hue app you can set what you want if you have the white or color ambiance bulbs. $25 is a bit steep, but I got it during a sale for $20; which I think is an ok price.

Perfect alternative to switch on lights for those not so technologically savvy. Also great way around having all employees download the application so they can still switch on/off lights in an office setting. Liked it enough that I purchased a second for home use!

I don't know about everyone else, but I don't typically have my phone with me when I'm around the house, and don't remember where I put it half of the time. The hue dimmer switch solves that problem. With the switch, I can now turn the lights on and off without my phone, and without turning off the actual light switch, which means I can control it again later with my phone if I need to because the lights still have power. It's easy to sync, and it has adhesive tape, a magnetic strip, and screw wholes for you to put it on your wall or whatever surface you'd like.

I picked this up to be able to quickly and easily shut down my lights without needing to pull up an app on my phone or tablet. This does just that, and has a magnetic backing that lets me temporarily stick it on any ferrous surface (in this case, on a lamp next to my bed). It only controls the currently enabled scene, but it does allow you to turn the lights on or off or dim them quickly by simply using a physical switch. I felt it was worth the money.

I have four of these in my place. So simple to use. Best feature is that you can pair scenes to the number of button presses (eg 1 press for "Bright," 2 presses for "Dim," 3 presses for "Energize". Much easier than opening up the Hue app every time. With the 3rd party iConnectHue App you can also adjust the how fast/slow the lights turn on for a nice movie theater effect.

This is the item that makes the Hue system so clean and simple to use. Everyone knows how to use a wall switch, so control of you smart lights can be done by everyone, even grandma... So simple to setup allowing control of many combinations of lights and or areas. I even use multiple dimmer switches in the same room like three way switches without any wiring. Just stick them on the wall where you need them. I am always looking for deals on these to be able to add more to my system.

I bought this AND the hub + starter pack. Worked easily and now I have a switch for a room that did not have one =)
I can't comment on how well this works (or if it works) without the philips hue hub / bridge.
I stuck the switch on the wall and it hasnt budged in 2 weeks.
I also use the google home app with it, and that is a little buggy but ONLY with the bulbs paired with the switch, not my other bulbs which work flawlessly with the google home app.

You can use it to control individual or groups of white lights directly or program it to do all sorts of things if connected to the hub. If you need lights as well, better to get the kit!

This gets far more use than I expected. I have seen some comments about lately between button presses and actual action being performed by the Hue Bridge, but I haven’t seen the problem myself with quite a bit of use. One note for HomeKit users, it will allow you to map each of the buttons to perform other actions than the predefined actions in the Hue app. For example, you can set each button to switch to a differ from lighting scheme. An inexpensive, indispensable addition to your Hue system.

If you're using the Philips Hue Lights, these are a must in my opinion. I added the lights to my bedroom, living room, and media room so far and without this switch, I had to go into the app on my phone to turn the lights on/off. I don't carry my cellphone around with me when I'm home, so it got pretty annoying really fast having to go back/forth upstairs and downstairs to get my cellphone to turn a light on/off. The only way I would go without one of these is if the lights being controlled aren't in high traffic areas where you need to be able to turn the lights on/off. For example, car port lights. Also, never had a problem with the switch not responding, losing a connection, or becoming "unreachable".
