I bought this so that we could control the colored bulbs in lamps in our bedroom. I was expecting to only have on/off and dimmer functionality. The Hue app lets you program the "on" button to cycle through multiple color settings. Now we have warm white for general use, a cooler white for my wife to put on makeup, a dim setting for evenings, etc. And this is all from the switch! We don't even have to pull up the app. Definitely a great addition when putting Hue bulbs in table lamps.

These switches are very useful for when I don't want to use my phone or Google Home to control my lights. Easy to install and pair, the 5 presets for the On button are great for white or color bulbs. The fact that it can control 2 rooms is nice because I have my ceiling fan and lamps in the bedroom as two separate groups.

This controller makes my life so much easier. I’m able to manually operate the lights or use my smartphone. Love it....

Yes, there are cheaper DIY Automation lights on the market. But how long will that company be here. If you've been following DIY Automation for the last few years you've seen a few companies come and go. Philips has been around awhile and they know lighting. The HUE line has been a lot of fun. With different scenes, being able to control just one light bulb on a switch that has multiple bulbs is great. Use a couple motion sensor coupled with different bulbs for nightlights. This way they're only on when they need to be at a brightness that I want. This style was purchased for use in a bathroom that I converted one of the 4 can lights on a single switch to use as a ceiling fan and would need to be on all the time. Solution: 1. Already had the hub 2. Three Hue retro fits 3. A Hue remote switch Install, program and several dollars cheaper than an electrician to run new wiring for the fan. 4. Create routines with Alexa 5. Happy wife Also have some colored bulbs, highly recommend getting some

If you love phillips hue lights, like I do, then you'll love this. Used for spare bedroom for when we have guests over and they want to control lights. Just stick it to the wall. Comes off like a remote control to get into bed with. Then you don't walk in the dark to bed. It just what I needed.

This is a great addition to any Philips Hue system. I have two of them installed (one in basement, one on 1st floor) and purchased a third to control additional lights on the 2nd floor. Not everyone likes to control lights using the iOS app, so these provide a great way to control them using a more familiar interface (a switch!). In addition to on/off, dimming is easily controlled using the middle buttons, and you can customize scenes, individual lights, colors, etc. and cycle through them. My only complaint is with the shipping service that Best Buy uses. As a Best Buy Elite Plus member, it should be free 2-day shipping but it has dragged on for multiple days. First it was delayed by 1 day, then again by 2 days. Still waiting. Had I known the shipment would be so badly delayed, I might have looked elsewhere, but I still highly recommend the product.

I currently have a beginner smart home set up, and I originally bought this product just so that I had a way to turn on and off my hue lights without flipping the home's light switch or talking to the Google Home. I was only expecting commands for on, off, dim, and brighten, but what I got was much more. When you initially set up the Hue Switch it is defaulted to on and off. You cannot switch the commands for dimming and brightening the lights, but what you can do is control how the on button works. You can set 5 different responses from the on button press. Whether you have just 1 light in the room, or many lights in the room this comes in handy. Let me explain how it works. Within the Phillips Hue app, you can set up 5 different things for the on button to do. When I hit the on button once it turns the light on to the last setting it had when I turned it off. When I press it a second time I have it turn to a bright white light. When I press it a third time the room goes into a cool blue theme that I use for bed time. (not too bright, but still able to navigate when getting ready for bed) When I press the on button a fourth time, it goes into a relaxing theme that is less harsh on your eyes and good for reading. And finally, with the fifth press of the button, it turns the light into a night light. You can set these 5 settings to whatever color or scheme that you want. It is pretty cool. About as useful as the Phillips Hue Tap switch, only this one can only control one room. For single room use, I would prefer this over the Phillips Hue Tap. For multi-room use, I would probably go with the Hue Tap switches around the house.

Stuck it right above my light switch so that I could have a on/off switch and dimmer without having to load up the app on my phone

Easy set up, The product is set up to control one room or two rooms simultaneously. Has dimmer options, mood lighting options, and removable remote. The two way tape adhesive is not the best. I recommend 3m if you want something solid.

This makes it easier to switch the lights without using the phone or tablet, plus this keeps the lights powered all the time to do home automation tasks. One problem I noticed is that the switch fails occasionally, but just pressing it another time usually works.

Cheaper and better than the "Hue Tap Switch". Sure, it uses a battery (included), but you get 4 buttons that you can configure for 8 different functions in third-party apps like iConnectHue (configuring a short press and long press for each button). By comparison, the "Hue Tap Switch"'s buttons can only be configured for a single action. Repeat presses can trigger different actions as well (but I find it more convenient to use short/long presses rather than multiple).

I love the ability to put a switch for my HUE lights anywhere that's convenient, and move it at will. This new switch has the ability to tune into whatever the last 3 settings we used, so it's even more convenient. It's magic (it seems) to have a remote control that has no batteries.. pure magic!!

It's cool, does what the description says. If there's some hack that makes it do something awesome, please share

I now have 3 of these setup in different rooms of the house. I love them when they work, but lately they have been dropping their connection to the hub and require a reset. Hopefully an update will be released soon to address this issue.

I can't tell you enough how happy this made me, replacing my switches on the wall (well, i'm in rental space, so i added switch guards to the switch to stay on). 1-2-3 easy to stick right on the wall, looks great as if it were hardware installed. Also, easily programmable, and works great with Home-Kit!

I’ve set up multiple of these switches in my house. They install and work easily. Cannot beat the simplicity.

I recently purchased the HUE Beyong Lamp from best buy and have it in my bedroom. Getting this remote gave me easier access to turning the lamp on/off. The HUE Wireless Dimmer Switch sometimes does take a second to physically connect to the light, and you might have to hit the button a couple times to get it to work.. Not really sure if you have to point it at the light or not, but i would assume not since it being able to attach to the wall. Overall, would definitely recommend for lights that you would use more often in your home

This product is by far a great investment for your smart home lighting. If you have someone in the house who's not all that technology savvy this is a great option! A on the wall clicking switch with removable remote. Also no internal wiring installation needed.. stick and place!
