I, myself have no particular use for this Philips Lady Electric Shaver Series 6000, but my girlfriend was happy to give it a try. The Shaver felt well designed and solid in the hand. There are no concerns over the waterproofing and it survived a shower without issue. The Shaver form fitted to the hand for dexterity. The closeness of the shave did not match that of a blade, but very few electric shavers are capable of that. The rechargeable nature of the Shaver helps with battery waste and that was also a solid plus with my girlfriend. The included accessories did not seem to add all that much in her opinion. The glove may be beneficial to some, but she passed on it. The exfoliation would be better handled with appropriate tools and creams. The last word from her is that it would be great for those quick touch up works in between the usual detailed hair removal. The closeness of a blade wins out in the end. However, the Shaver is much faster and easier to use when you compare it to shaving cream, hair removal products and any wax treatments.

Life saver for someone who hates shaving!

This is a life saver for someone who hates shaving! Why did no one tell me about electric shaving before? Close shave: I think the main issue most people face with electric shavers is getting a close shave. If done right, this can give a close shave. Hold the shaver perpendicular to the surface, so that the foil and both side of the trimmer are touching your skin. The trick is to go back and forth several times over the same area. There is a little bit of a spring action, so that you can, very gently, press it down on your skin, giving a closer shave. If you have longer hair, apply some baby powder and run a dry towel across the area in the direction opposite to the hair growth to lift the hair up. If you have really long thick hair (or if you are a guy shaving his legs), use the pop up trimmer to trim first. Wet shaving: I also tried out wet shaving and I loved it. It became my preferred method over dry shaving. Since there was no risk of cuts like a regular razor, my main issue of not being able to see in the shower with my glasses on was no longer a concern. I could go over the same area multiple times. Being in the shower already meant I could quickly rinse off the shaver instead of brushing the hair off after every section, and allowed me to get a better shave overall. I used some shower gel or soap, not shaving cream. I found that keeping the skin and the shaver super wet and slippery helped it glide on the skin easily. I shaved against the direction of hair growth to get a good close shave. This method took me maybe a few minutes lesser than dry shaving. Battery life: Even though it said that it needs to be charged for 12 hours before the first use and between every use, I used it right out of the box to test it out on a small patch. It shaved well. I decided to wait 24 hours just to make sure I'm not getting any reaction, and charged it in the mean time. The blades did spin faster. So I believe it's a good idea to charge it between shaves. The manual says that 12 hours of charging gives about 20 minutes of shave, which sounds ridiculous at first. However, it took me, the amateur shaving person, 10 to 12 minutes to shave both legs, both arms and underarms. I think 20 minutes is more than enough. Regrowth: Surprisingly, the regrowth was not as blunt as normal shaving, which is what gave me the confidence to shave my arms! You do have to let it grow a little longer than usual to shave well. Cleaning: It is extremely easy to clean. It comes with a brush to brush off hair during the shave. After I am done shaving, I pop the head off and rinse both, the head and the blades inside in water. It's a good idea to press your finger onto the faucet so that it gives out a sharp forceful stream. I first rinse the head, then put a some hand soap in some water in a cup, and leave the head in that to soak while I clean the blades inside. I first rinse the blades in the sharp stream, then I dunk the blade only in the cup full of soap water and swish it around, and then rinse both the head and the blades. I use a q-tip to get into the corners of the plastic inside. To dry off, I sort of shake both the parts vigorously so that the water falls out, put the top back on to protect the blade, and leave it to air dry for a few hours. Once I know it's fully dry, I put it for charging. Ergonomics: For dry shaving and washing, it's very easy to hold. It fits well in my small hands and doesn't slip out of my grip. I don't know if the surface will become slippery if you're shaving wet with shaving cream. The placement of the buttons is good so that you can start and stop the shaver or open and close the pop trimmer with the thumb of the hand you're holding it with. I believe the design is good for both, right handed and left handed people. The side of the the blade is big enough for quick shaves, and small enough to get around difficult areas. Portability: It's not too bulky and heavy to travel with that makes it easily portable. The bag that comes with it is big enough to fit both the shaver and the charger. Longevity: Only time will tell. I have had it only for a few weeks and used it 3-4 times, and so far it's great. The blade and the foil are replaceable, so that's a good thing. Other than that, if you read the manual, follow the instructions, keep it clean and charge it timely, you're doing everything on your side to maintain the product. If anything goes wrong or I face any issues, I will come back and update this. Overall, I think it's a good product. Yes, there are some less expensive shavers available on the market but Phillips quality speaks for itself and in my opinion, it's worth spending $35 (at the time of writing this review). It does the job well without nicks and cuts, and it is FAST!

When you regularly shave those special areas, I’ve found it’s good to have a good electric shaver for convenience sake. It’s Philips’ turn with the Lady Electric Shaver. Unboxing the shaver was pretty standard. Once out of the box, the first thing I noticed is the shaver is very well built. It feels good in hand and is of quality construction. There are a few attachments in the box as well, and they are all quality made. The shaver itself is pretty simple in design, with only a couple of buttons on the device: the power button and a mechanical button to release the shaver head. Using the shaver was easy and really surprising. I’ve used electric shavers in the past that were unpleasant due to occasionally snagging and irritating the skin. This shaver provided a pain free experience in both wet and dry use. The floating rotary head surrounded by two miniature blades works very well. I also like the included guard for those areas where you aren’t trying to get to bald or need gentle handling. The shaver is easy to clean as the head detaches allowing you to fully rinse it clean, and there is also a brush included for dry cleaning. The one area I would have liked an improvement is in battery performance. The shaver has about a 40 minute run time and takes overnight to charge (10 hours). It would be nice to have a quick charge for at least up to 80% battery life. I think most would be willing to pay a little extra for such a feature, but I understand the limitations at this price point. Overall, I like the Philips Lady Electric Shaver and feel it is a great product. I don’t know if it is something an everyday shaver would use, but it is awesome for quick shaves between your razor days. Battery could be better, but is does get you through about 3 or 4 typical uses.

    Not a close enough shave

As advertised, the shaver gets virtually all the hair off the unwanted areas, water resistant so you can shave in the shower, and the battery life is top tier. My wife likes the ergonomic handle that makes it more difficult to drop while shaving. The product also came with a nice travel bag for easy storage and portability. The blades of the shaver are curved to never catch and nick the skin, instead it follows the natural curvature of the legs and armpit. However after a couple weeks of adjustments and troubleshooting, the shaver just doesn't give the smooth aftermath feeling that you are looking for. According to my wife, although its does get hair off, there are still prickly spots on her legs. She used every attachment combination that was supposed to do the trick, even no attachments at all, just to still leave patches of short hair. The attachment for her armpit was good though and the exfoliating glove is excellent. I wonder how long the glove will last before it needs to be thrown away.

Great Time Saving Shaver for Women

    * Shaving in the shower: The shaver works well in the shower. If you use soap it makes it is a lot easier to shave. As it glides much nicer and smoother across the skin this way. It's quick to use. I used it on my legs, my armpits and my lady area. It cleaned up quite nicely. I did notice that if you shave against the grain its a little rough. * Shaving dry: I also tried the shaver dry on my legs and it works well. It does make your legs a little bit itchy at first, with this method, but it didn't stay itchy for very long. I found it a great time saver when I needed a quick shave without having to jump in the shower. It's nice that the shaver has edgers to get thicker areas, that really helped to got those parts trimmed nicely. *Cleaning the shaver head: The shaver is easy to clean. Just a simple button and the head pops off and you can rinse it clean. In general, the shave is not as smooth as a razor but I think it is pretty darn close. It's really a great tool to have given the fact that its so quick and less hassle then using a shaver.

This is the best for sensitive skin

If you struggle with sensitive skin, this is a game changer. I’ve used every kind of razor on the market at this point and have always struggled with sensitive skin. Bumps and irritation after shaving made it a nightmare and if I didn’t have darker hair I probably would just give up and grow it out. I also have two kids and sometimes need to shave quick and be out the door without wanting to take an everything shower. This shaver has made a world of difference. This is easy to use, the included guards and neat exfoliating glove make this a nice kit. It’s not as close of a shave as like a brand new razor but this is close enough that I don’t mind especially when it doesn’t irritate my skin. I tested a small area on my thigh before going any further and was pleasantly surprised at how there was no irritation and no bumps afterwards. I’ve used it several times since then and still no irritation. This is great for a quick touch up too since you can use this wet or dry. It’s super easy to clean and doesn’t take up a ton of space when you aren’t using it. I highly recommend this.

Got this for my wife, and here's what she has to say. Price: It's much more affordable that some others I've used, that said I can see the differences. Build Quality: This goes back to price, as it doesn't feel cheap but different feel high quality either like some others that are priced much higher in my experience. This has a very nice feel in hand while using it, and doesn't feel bad at all to handle. The body of this razor is nice, and small enough to use for my little hands. Quality of the shaver: It's good. No bumps after a day or two, and no rough skin out feeling of me hair coming back too soon. It slides and moves over my body with ease, and I have no complaints. Shower or dry use: Using it in the shower is the best, as there is no need for a messy clean up afterwards. If your legs have little too no hair like mine, you will be good either way. But I prefer to use this in the shower, it just makes it easier for me. Overall: I like this shaver and I recommend you to try it. Prices get fair, and it works.

Philips is my favorite hygiene brand and I’ve been using it since adolescent times. The product, which is a female hygiene device, is touted as a lady shaver. I use this device to my other half, who is the intended gender beneficiary of the product. The device comes with a set of attachments that is useful to get the job done smoothly, which is mainly priming the intended applicable area of operation by trimming the target. After the target is being primed, using the device without the attachment smoothen the area of operation. It is very important that the whole operation is being performed smoothly and the beneficiary is comfortable. In which case, the device successfully achieves just that. It is important to note that the device works in wet and dry conditions. It would depend on how sensitive the beneficiary's skin is, in which case for as long as the skin is not so sensitive, dry operation should work well. It is possible that the whole operation is being performed by just the same person, but I think it would achieve much greater success on area of operation obscured to the vision of the intended beneficiary when the operation is being performed by another person other than the intended beneficiary. Overall, this is a good and quality hygiene product. Makes the other half so happy.

A great shaver that won't replace your razor

The Philips Lady Electric Shaver Series 6000 is a great close shaver -- however, it is not a razor, or perhaps it is better to say that it does not cut as close as a razor, which is definitely good for more sensitive parts of the body (which might be the point of this unit). There are a few great attachments that come included with the shaver, and they performed well under testing. Overall, the device is solid and will hold up when using it in the shower (though I tend to be skittish about getting too much water on electric devices!). For legs, it performed adequately well, though as mentioned, it does not cut as close as a conventional razor, so be advised, if the lady wants a smooth cut, she may need to use a follow up razor to complete the process. Aside from using the Electric Shaver on legs, the device is also great for sensitive areas such as using on pubic as well as armpit hair. The best aspect of the Electric Shaver is that it is great for on-the-go use. So if you are ever in the need for a quick shave, this will definitely accomplish that!

Might save money in long run, but not time

This trimmer/shaver uses the same head Philips has used on their men's trimmers for almost ten years. The difference is the wider grip, pink coloring, and the inclusion of some different plastic guards. Despite coming with only a charging cable and no wall wart ( it's USB and you can plug it in to any other USB charger ), the end that plugs into the trimmer uses the connector as many other and older Philips trimmers, so if you have an older Philips, you can share chargers. The long and short of it it this trimmer doesn't give a particularly close shave, nor a quick one. The design of the trim head seems logical: the cross-cut blades on the top and bottom will cut down longer hairs and the mesh trimmer in the middle can handle the remaining stubble. The mesh trimming section simply can't cut hair as close as a razor can, and most people can accept that. But in order to get a passable shave, you have to make multiple passes ( often more than five ) over every area. Doesn't matter if it's legs, armpits, or more sensitive areas, you'll easily spend as much time shaving with this as you would with a razor and lather. And since this doesn't shave as close, you may end up needing to shave more often. It's nice that it's a wet/dry trimmer, so you can use it in the tub or shower. And it might be more convenient for travel since you only pack the one trimmer instead of blades, shaving cream, and aftershave balms. As the cost of disposable razors and shaving cream will likely amount to more than $50 / year, this trimmer can likely save you time in the long run. But depending on how often you need to shave, and how close, it's hard to see this as more convenient in most cases.
