This Norelco three-head shaver is by far the best I have ever used. It fits my hand perfectly and gives me the best electric shave possible. Very easy on my skin as well. I cannot say this for the foil shavers. This new Norelco razor is the lightest by far I have ever used. I especially like the fact that I can rinse it with water without worrying about what it's going to do to the electronics. One final thing. The shave is just amazing. Almost as good as my straight razor but my straight razor takes much longer time to shave. The batteries in this thing seemed like they lasted forever, probably due to the lithium-ion technology. I'll keep buying Norelco shavers as long as they keep treating my face and budget as nicely as they have been.

Philips Norelco Shaver 3500 S3212/82
I’ve come back to Norelco rotary pivot head shavers in this past few years. I’ve already owned the top-of-the-line for approximately a year now and it’s become my favorite, ever. In fact, I like it so much, I’m reluctant to drag it around on my occasional travels. Yes, it’s portable, but I don’t want to beat it up in my luggage. So, this Norelco 3500 is my experiment on dropping down into a lower priced version while enjoying the great shaves these give me.
What makes these rotary shavers so comfortable and smooth is the wet/dry feature. You will get a nice shave without any lubricant, but go light and slow. With a pre-shave lotion you can get a better shave, without any extra effort required. However, like I described after using their premiere model, using a sudsy or foaming lather on your face before shaving yields a super comfortable spa-treatment for your face. The shave is close but your face or neck or chin is left feeling like it’s been babied. I’m perfectly OK using all 3 approaches, but nothing compares with a Norelco shave in a shower with a sudsy shaving lotion.
THE USEFUL STUFF:
The pivoting heads keep everything comfortable, with minimal abrasion.
The suggested 60 minutes of cordless shaving matches my first few uses.
That 60 minutes of shaving requires 60 minutes of charging,
Cleaning the heads is easy with the hinged, pop-open action.
The rubberized grip makes using the shaver in the shower quite easy.
There’s a light-weight cloth pouch for travel.
The pop-up trimmer is OK, if slightly awkward to manipulate on your face.
The rotary motor results in a quiet shaving ritual.
CONS: Compared to the ultimate shaver in the Philips Norelco shaver, the rotary head doesn’t glide as easily. I think the slightly tighter layout of the head array contributes to this. Perhaps the shave isn’t quite as close. But, I’m comparing this modestly priced model to a $300 shaver, so I understand the value in this Model 3500. It’s why I own it.
SUMMARY: I can’t discourage you from getting the premiere versions of the Norelco rotary shavers, but this Philips Norelco Shaver 3500 at a very reasonably price represents a great value. It closely matches my favorite wet-shave performance. It’s comfortable and leaves your face really smooth. My wife totally approves. I can tell by the way she volunteers to test the results.

This shaver is easy to use and fairly quiet. I like that it can be wet without damage. A full charge lasts at least three weeks with daily use based on my experience. After three weeks of use, I am getting a closer shave than at the start, but it's still not as close as I would like, though I find it acceptable. The shaver's shape makes it easy to hold and the three blades work well and never hurt me. The price I paid was reasonable.

Nice Upgrade from my old 3000 Series

I picked this up to replace my older 3000 series. It was getting a little bit older and when I looked at the cost of picking up new blades compared to what I'd get by picking up a new razor, it was a no-brainer.
The biggest draw to this newer version was the rapid charge feature. As a safety precaution, Philips disables the ability to use their razors while they charge. This isn't a problem if you remember to charge them every so often, but if you don't remember to charge them regularly, then it can be a pain.
The new S3212 will give you 60-minutes of shaving off of a single hour of charging, so more than enough to handle my morning shave. It is also safe to use in the shower like my older 3000 series, but with my facial hair, I usually have to shave it dry, otherwise, my beard and mustache hair will stick to my face.
They've also added a newer feature called 5D Pivot & Flex Heads - I've noticed the head is a bit different shape compared to my older 3000 series and so far, it does seem like it's just as comfortable, if not more responsive than my older one.
If you're someone who can use an electric razor and are in the market for a new one, this one is a good deal at less than $100.

Great battery life and easy to clean!

This is by far one of the bet shavers I have ever used! The three 5D cutting heads make for a clean, close, and comfortable shave that gets about as close to a razor cut as you can without using a razor. The unit is fully compatible and comfortable with dry and wet shaving, the latter making for an incredibly close and soothing shave. No worries about razor burn or cuts, especially when paired with your favorite shaving cream! The battery is rate for up to 60 minutes, more than enough for multiple days of shaves off one charge! There is also a quick charge feature that allows enough for a shave off just a few minutes of charging and the battery hits a full charge in about an hour, too! Though not designed specifically for it, the shaver also works great for touch ups on a bald head!
I would highly recommend this shaver for anyone looking for a comfortable daily shaver with a battery that lasts you the whole week.

It's a good shaver for the money. I feel it would work a little better if the motor RPM was fast, but it still does a good a reasonable job. It is easy to clean, charges fast and holds charge well.

I had a new foil shaver that worked fine, but tore my face up. I had had a Norelco shaver before that, and decided I should go back to Norelco. I'm very glad I did - the noise level is almost nothing, comfort and speed of shaving are tremendous. Cleaning requires just rinsing it in water, which works very well, is very easy, and can't damage the shaver since it's already fully waterproof (can be used in the shower). It holds a good charge for over a week's worth of uses. Above all, however, it's just so much easier on my skin. I suppose more expensive models are even more amazing, but this is totally satisfying to me as it is.

This is an inexpensive alternative to those pricey models out there. If you want a basic shaver that works, this is the one. It holds its charge, cuts closely, and is super quiet. i didn't try the wet function. It cleans easily and trims. My facial fur is mild for most men, so i don't know how a sasquatch face would fare, but it seems quite able.

This is the second razor of this series that I've owned. It charges fast and holds the charge for quite a long time.
It does give a good shave but not as close as more expensive razors. I'm ok with that as for what I need, it does a great job.

I had to replace a 5 year old Norelco and chose this one and am very satisfied. Shaves close, does not burn my neck, charges fast, charge last about a week. Comes with soft carry case and charger. About every 5 years or so I replace them as the batteries usually are bad and the blades need replacing every year. So if you add up the batteries and the blades it is about the same as a new one. Norelco makes a very good razor and this is far from being the top of the line to perform this well. Yes, I would recommend you buy this.

This 3500 series Norelco replaces an older model. The first thing I noticed was how quiet it is. It also shaves much better than my older shaver, as well. Not sure why it took me so long to get a new one. The full charge lasts for one hour, which is a plus for me. These shavers get better as the years go by. I'm glad I decided on this one. You can't go wrong with a Norelco.

I’ve had Norelco razors for 38 years as I’m used to the shaving system with them. The current one I have (3500 Model Series) has a lot of features for the $59 price which includes a pivoting head, three-bar charging indicator, 60 minute single charge battery, wet/dry capability, pop-up side trimmer and travel pouch. The quality of the razors are good, although not as good as they were decades ago. Long-term reliability has slipped over the years so I highly recommend spending a few more dollars and get the two-year Best Buy warranty as the last couple of razors have broke/malfunctioned before the extended warranty period ended. I don’t see the need to go with the upper end Norelco models so if you’re looking for a good shave then make sure you get one that has a 60 minute shaving time on a single charge with wet/dry capability as these features definitely come in handy. The last few razors I’ve owned have been in the 3000-3500 model series which run about $59-$69 retail. Overall, you can’t go wrong with a Norelco electric razor.
