When you need an electric shaver, you really can't afford to overlook the Norelco brand. They keep reinventing themselves with new technologies that shave as close to a razor as you can get. The 9000 prestige upgrades your shaving experience with a couple of new features I haven't seen yet. Philips Norelco includes a trimmer attachment, cleaning brush and convenient carry case. I like the premium look of the champagne color scheme. Instead of charge lines, the display gives you accurate battery readings at 1% intervals, so you know how much power you have at all times. Based on my old 5000 series, the 9000 is slightly smaller, quieter and uses less energy (5w vs 5.4w). A new and interesting feature is the ability to select from 3 spin speeds. The high speed is more effective when using the trimmer attachment, while the lower speeds are good for shaving. The included QI wireless charger looks good enough to keep on the vanity all the time. I like how it lights a ring around the unit, so you know it's charging. Like my 5000 series, this does a very good job reaching the hairs, though the 9000 feels smoother, at least while it's still new. I have a couple of things I don't really like, but still consider it a worthwhile purchase. The trimmer attachment is just that, an attachment, requiring you to pop off the shaving head to do your sideburns. On my 5000 series, the trimmer is integrated and pops up when needed. That said, the attachment is more stable and capable than the pop up. The only other issue I have is charging; the Qi wireless pad is huge! Way bigger than is necessary for such a small unit, so much so, that it won't fit in the included carry case. Sadly, that's the only way to charge it. It would've been nice if they included a charge port for when you travel, but I guess you might not need to charge it with its reduced energy consumption, should last a few weeks sparingly. Philips Norelco has built a solid shaver with some nice added features, adding convenience on one side and removing it from the other. It feels great, shaves more and closer the first time, all while reducing noise.

    A TRULY wireless shaver

I have preferred a foil shaver this is my first time using a multiheaded shaver. So far it has been doing quite well. It is providing a close shave with no pulling or irritation. The 9000 is quieter than my old foil shaver but that is fairly moot as I have been using this in the shower and the sound of water is way noisier than this thing. I love that it is waterproof and the wireless charging allows me to throw it on the charger without having to ensure that it is dry before plugging anything. That does lead me to a pro and a con for this shaver. The charging pad is larger than any wireless phone charger I have in my house. I do not have space on my bathroom sink to have a wireless charger out to lay the charger. I am considering making a shelf under my sink in the cabinet to place this on and run a wire to the outlet. The carrying case is an appreciated inclusion, however it is rather large since it is supposed to accommodate the charging pad. Which brings me to my final point of contention. This shaver can ONLY be charged via wireless pad making it truly a wireless shaver (though there is still a wire for the qi charging pad). Which means I must find a good spot to leave the pad and have to take it with me on longer trips. Short trips I am not really inclined to bring an electric shaver as I want to pack as light as possible and would at most bring a razer. For the cost of this shaver I would have liked to see more charging options but it does well for shaving my face both dry and in the shower and once I have it mounted under my sink it will be a welcome addition to my bathroom set up. I would not recommend this shaver for a frequent traveler though.

Nice close shave with wireless charging. You cannot go wrong with the Philips Norelco name in shavers. You also cannot go wrong with a wireless version from the same manufacturer. They have known how to shave mens faces (and those women who need to as well, I ain't judging) for a very long time. They have rolled all of that experience into the 9000 Prestige Shaver and added the Qi standard for charging. Which means, when I take the shaver off the charging pad, I can put my phone down on it. Yeah, weird, I know but that also means you can only bring this charging pad on vacation with you and charge both the shaver and phone on it. Two chargers for the price of one works well for me. The shaver itself gives a nice smooth shave and the swiveling heads adjust well to the jaw line and cheeks. I found the battery life to be long lasting and didn't quit on me mid-shave. The percentage countdown also seemed pretty accurate in telling me how much I should expect out of it. I do not want to put numbers on how many shaves I got out of it between charges because it would change based on face size and heaviness of your 5 o'clock shadow.

Not good for beards, GREAT for daily shaving

I will start by saying if you're a daily (so like long stubble) shaver, this will meet and possibly exceed your expectations. Its VERY comfortable, glides well, is super convenient being wet/dry capable + the wireless charger. Its CRAZY quiet, I had no idea a razor this size could be this silent. Now for my personal normal use case, being an extremely lazy shaver, I usually shave a couple times a week max. Philips website has a picture of a guy with a very comparable beard that I would have after about a week, and they even quote "Dense beards don’t stand a chance". This is completely false. All it does it YANK longer hair, and maybe trim every 4th or 5th hair if longer/thicker. I worked on my admittedly patchy, not very thick beard for about 10 minutes and all I got was a bunch of pain from pulled hair, and a few areas that were slightly shorted. I then shaved with a separate beard trimmer, and cleaned it up with this razor which seemed to work well. I've tried to shave every other day minimum, and THAT has proved to me that is where this razor excels. TLDR: don't try to shave anything beard length, but stubble stands no chance/this ROCKS for a daily shave.

What a beautiful piece of work this Phillips Norelco S9000 Prestige Shaver is! I have been a Gillette user for many years trying out electric razers now and then. This one is a keeper with its Qi charging pad, 72 blade shaving heads, quick charging time, quiet performance, close trim, easy cleaning replaceable heads for years of performance. Comes with lithium ion batteries for long use between chargings. Phillips Norelco has provided a charging cable and very nice case for traveling. The shaver has a lockout feature so it doesn't accidentally turn on and go dead while traveling. Plugging it in to recharge disables the lockout feature. The S9000 Prestige comes with IQ technology that sense and adapts to you. It has a hydro skinguide coating, ultraflex suspension system, top spin digital motor, smart hair sensor and personal comfort settings. And I can tell you, it gives a very smooth shave rather quickly. As a former blade user, this Phillips Norelco shaver has changed my mind and the way I shave.

    An Ultra Comfortable Shave

This is probably the smoothest, fastest, and most comfortable shave I've ever had. I've been through a few electric shavers. I've also done tried many different blade-based (safety) and disposable razors. I have my favorites, including an earlier model Philips Norelco brand. But this was the first time I had a shaver just glide over my face the way this 9000 Prestige did. And it was a CLOSE shave! Of course, I used shaving cream the first time, but this shaver handled it with ease and I got not razor bumps from it. The next dry shave was almost as perfect - just a little less gliding due to less moisture, of course; but it was still incredibly comfortable! The shaver has a simple modular configuration, allowing easy replacement of the head or using the included trimmer attachment. I also found the razor to be quite comfortable to hold, overall. My only real grip is from the power. It charges using a wireless Qi charging pad; and while the shaver fits and charges fine, the pad, itself, is fairly large. Plus the power supply is permanently attached to it. I tried some other Qi charging mats and I couldn't get anything else to charge the shaver. So if you're on an extended trip, you'll need to bring the Qi charing pad with you. Apparently the shaver can last up to 60 minutes on a full charge. I couldn't test that out, but perhaps that's enough for a 2-week trip.

I have used this shaver for a couple weeks now. #1 purpose of the device of course is to provide a comfortable and close shave....I would say it does this very well. I've used electric shavers as well as the old school shaving cream/blades over the last 35 years and most electrics leave me with irritated skin. So far, this one has been good to my skin and leaves a smooth shave. The flexing heads (and probably brand new rotating blades) helps for sure. My only reasons for removing a star are: it's a bit overpriced in my opinion likely due to the wireless charging pad. I mean, is it really necessary? Takes up a lot of counter space. Yes it's nice, but not needed compared to a good old cord to plug in a few times a month to charge. Also, I wish the trimmer was integrated like all of my old shavers. Having to remove the shaver heads to then pop on the trimmer is annoying. Still recommend checking it out for those wanting a good quality smooth and comfortable shave.

I'm a big fan of electric razors and I have been using them for years. I've used just about any and every razor on the market including the "German" made product, however I always come back to the best razor money can buy. The Philips Norelco 9000 Prestige Shaver is top of the line. It is easy to hold and grip, is waterproof. I have last years model which incidentally is still going strong and is just about as sharp as day one of ownership. The Philips Norelco 9000 is an improvement from my older model. It comes standard with a QI wireless charging pad, you also have the capability of locking the razor down so it doesn't accidentally turn on when its packed away in a suitcase for example, and the charging pad actually charges my IPhone 13 Pro! No need for a separate phone charger. Sweet! This new model also alerts you when you need to change and replace your shaving heads. Enough about the new gadgets and features and on to the shaving experience. This product is superb! It is so very smooth, offers a super close shave and I for one have not experienced any shaving discomfort. It shaves my facial hair with ease and the shaving experience is just awesome. It is a quick shaving experiece and I love this product. This is the razor that has set the bar for all others to reach.

This is my second Norelco razor. The first one I got was a fairly modest model which served me well for several years, but was showing signs of wearing down. So while I'm used to the circular razor design in general, this is my first time trying a more premium version. And so far at least the difference has been quite surprising. For my first shave I started out by turning the settings up to the max, thinking that my skin was already used to this kind of thing and that I wouldn't need to adjust. This, as it turns out, was a mistake. Going full tilt the blades on this thing are absolutely merciless, and it left me with some pretty nasty razor burn on my neck. So, having been suitably humbled, I dialed it down to "comfort" to finish the job and while it did take longer, by the time I was done my cheeks felt razor-smooth with only a few stray hairs requiring a second pass. There are a few caveats I feel I should point out though. First off is the charging pad. Out of the box this thing looks absolutely amazing and almost painfully high tech. And I like the idea of a wireless charging solution for places like the bathroom where the odds of something getting splashed are so high. But the finish on it leaves something to be desired given that. The shiny brushed metal picks up everything from fingerprints to hard water spots, and while it's easy to wipe down you do have to wipe it down a lot to keep it looking good. Second is that the battery doesn't last exceptionally long on high. If you're planning to travel with this razer you'll probably want to take the charging pad unless you know you'll only be gone a couple days.

The Philips Norelco S9000 Prestige feels great in your hand. Very ergonomic and puts the buttons for easy use. It has a nice display for showing battery level and reminders for rinsing and replacing the blades. They recommend replacing every 12 months. It's really simple to give the blades a quick rinse by popping the top open. There's a convenient travel setting so that it doesn't accidentally turn on in your bag. Included were a shaver, trimmer head, little brush, hard shell carrying case, and a nice looking charging pad. Speaking to the charging Philips claims it takes 3 hrs for 60 min of shaving. It does a quick charge of 18 min to get 1 shave in. I didn't use it enough to test this out but sounds good on paper. I attempted to tackle a 7 day beard as the box advertised and that was rough. It got down to the skin but left a lot of long hairs. Also the trimmer head had a hard time getting the hair shorter. I tried it dry and with shaving cream. The dry did far better and the shaving cream just made a mess. I think the glide technology makes it so you don't need the shaving cream. You really need to plan on using this every couple days but it could work if you're in a pinch. When cutting more stubble length I like it a lot. It was smooth and comfortable and felt as close as a razor without the irritation.

This is my first 9000 series razor. I'm a Norelco fan. The shaving head on this razor is what you buy it for. Lower cost versions work well, but the smoothness of this razor is worth the cost. It’s so easy and faster to shave with this one and it feels like it could cut through a bush if I wanted it too. The digital display and wireless charging are great. Necessary probably not but very convenient. I have done a few dry shaves so far and there is no skin irritation and the shave is very close. My old Norelco was years old and after just a couple shaves it had to be plugged in or it was a drag race to get a third one in. The variable speeds are great. The build quality and comfort is rock solid. I can certainly believe what I read online when people say these will last for years. The batteries are always the weakest point long term. I haven’t needed to use the attachments yet but it’s standard stuff and they seem well built. The case is also rugged and durable. It’s well worth the additional cost to get the top of the line.

I have had several Norelco shavers over the years. Since using Norelco, there is no way I would ever go back to using a regular razor. Norelco shavers are so much faster and convenient to use compared to a regular razor. That being said, many of the Norelco shavers I have had in the past do compromise a little on closeness of shave and comfort compared to using a regular razor. This Norelco Prestige really takes it to the next level and has the best of both worlds. This model is expensive, but it is one of the best Norelcos you can get when it comes to comfort and closeness of shave. This is my first Norelco with wireless charging capability. I really like this feature because now I won’t ever run low on battery and have to manually plug in and recharge my shaver. On other models, the battery usually lasts pretty long, so that wasn’t a big deal. But there were times when my battery ran low and I had forgotten to plug it in, so I had to recharge the unit some before I could use it. With the wireless charging, you just sit the shaver down on the charging mat and it stays fully charged at all times. This is a really nice feature and an added convenience. This shaver also comes with a really nice travel case that seems to be great quality. If you travel like me, that is important to have. Really I only have one complaint about this shaver compared to other models I have had. Most of the other Norelco shavers I have used come with a built in trimmer that you can pop out quickly for trimming hairs on your face and neck. This model does not have that, which I assume has something to do with the wireless charging feature. That is really unfortunate, because now you have to pull off the shaver head entirely and attach the trimmer separately. I use the trimmer on a regular basis, so that extra step is a pain. For that reason, I will probably continue to have another Norelco on hand just for that purpose alone. If Philips could make this device with the wireless charging and add the built-in trimmer, this shaver would be perfect. If the trimmer is important to you, you might want to consider a different model that has it built in. I know there is at least one other model that has the exact same shaving heads as this (for closeness and comfort) while also having a built in trimmer, although it does not have wireless charging. Overall, this is an excellent shaver. For that reason, I am giving it 5 stars. But, do keep in mind that this does not include a built in pop-out trimmer like other Norelco models. If that is a feature you care about, it might be worth considering a different model that has that feature for quick and convenient trimming.
